took half hour to get in, no one was answering the phones, everything fine once in though

Great time with with family in a lovely place ☺️

Everything was perfect! The bar staff and owner are great! Lovely pub☺️ everything was amazing and I’m booking to come back for summer, also they have a great gluten free menu!

Said sea view but window was over looking car park if ticked head lucky to see some sea if tide was in, food wasnt nice, systems was all down, could done with better clean, needs decorating, no main lighting so room was dark

Comfy over night stop off

Friendly staff. Comfy beds. Massive family room. Plenty of tea and coffee. Nice warm room. Good value for the price we paid. Would stay again.

Very creaky floorboards as others have said. No way of being quiet. Luckily guests above us not up until gone 8am so wasn't an issue

Perfect place to stay for a short break

We have stayed here several times before - perfect for one or two nights stay - location is great ! Rooms are clean - the double bed was massive with lovely comfy pillows and a warm and cosy duvet. Amanda served us a very big Breakfast which was delicious !

Superb location and the room was very comfortable. The staff was great too. Price wise was very affordable and definitely a place I’ll stay again in the future while visiting customers in the area.

We were due to have breakfast next morning but kitchen was closed for refurb, manager offered refund in phone but didn't receive it , poor communication and run down pub area , but it was having a refurb so can only get better

Overnight stay to just get away base to walk to other places

Location, availability, exterior has finally been given a makeover looks so much better, staff were good

Chef hadn’t turned up for their shift so no food all day, floor boards in all bedrooms creaked all the time no matter where you stood same in the room above, hot tap in bathroom loose and turned on the opposite direction to what it should.

Easy parking, easy to book in at bar, view from room was superb, very comfortable bed & nice & warm.

The walls are paper thin and you can hear the people in the adjoining rooms, not good if you are a light sleeper like myself, take earplugs with you!!!!

The only thing that let it down was the bed the mattresses was to singles together they was very flat and you could feel every lump and bump in them we never had a good night sleep at all as every time you moved the bed springs dug in you and the popping of the springs would wake you up so we had to sleep on the sofa that was in the room also the toilet when you flush it the noise from that keeps you awake as it’s persistent noise for about half an hour from the little box behind it on the floor so we wouldn’t flush it till the next morning

From start to finish very nice experience from the warmest welcome in a while we received from Richard.What a gem!Polite,funny and caring about the guests.Nothing we asked or requested was a problem at all.Other members of staff also helpful.

We have visited WSM multiple times, & always stay at the Old Colonial. Its comfortable, & all the staff are so accommodating & friendly. The parking is also a big bonus, as the Old Colonial has their own bays in a busy car park

1 night at Weston-super-Mare

The staff were attentive and helpful. As the holiday season is over, food stops serving at 7.30. The manager made it clear about local alternatives and gave us choices. The beach front location is superb 👌

Lovely place

Lovely room for the price. Very spacious and had all the things you needed in the room. The location was brilliant, right on the beach and a small walk from town and the pier.

The bed was a little uncomfortable, the springs were loud and clearly very well used as there wasn't a lot of bounce. Having said that it didn't make the night's sleep too bad, just a little disrupted!

The manager and landlord made no effort to sort our issues The bar code we used for food was not for the pub we stayed our food order went to a different pub the staff made no effort to help us resolve this matter and on top of that said they had stopped serving food at 8.15pm after I went to the bar to enquire where our food was and was told oh yes sometimes the food goes to a different marathon pub and shrugged their shoulders. Room 9 stunk of shake and vac it was putrid and made me feel sick. You could smell it from the corridor before you went in. I asked the landlord to come up and smell it because it was such a strong smell I couldn’t sleep in there. The landlord said he could smell it but said his cleaners were not allowed to use any chemicals or strong smelling liquids. He had no other rooms and could not move us. We slept badly with the windows wide open in the middle of storm Amy gale force winds. I got on my hands and knees as did my partner and it was clear the carpet had been treated. I believe something had been spilt in there or the previous occupants had been sick on the carpet which is why they had to clean it and cover it up with a strong floral smell, The landlord clearly lied. The manager the following morning said they did use air freshener which contradicts what the landlord said. On going down for breakfast having had no dinner the manager spent 10 minutes arguing the toss over whether she could give us breakfast as there was no record of our booking it had mysteriously disappeared off her I pad.

Nice staff but tired building

Bed comfortable and room a lovely size. Lovely greeting from manager and had lunch which was good.

Could have been cleaner. Totally understand with an older building that can have hard to reach places but bathroom tiles and doors dirty. Coffee and milk were topped up but not the mugs.

Great value stopover for my family, perfect for a night at the beach

Comfortable beds, including proper beds for kids which is unusual in a family room. Friendly staff and easy check in and check out. Room was huge and great location for visiting the pier and the seafront.

Slightly dated in terms of tatty grout, skirting boards etc. Noise from rooms above- floor boards creaky and could hear every footstep.

Location, and room was a good size for 4 people

I asked for fresh towels 3 times and did not get any over a 2 day period so we ended up hanging the original towels to dry and reusing them

Good value for money, reasonable cleanliness comfortable bed and great breakfast.

Was a great location right near the beach. Comfortable bed and fairly clean room but the carpet was sticky and had stains on it. Breakfast was very good and good value for money. Staff were all friendly and professional especially Richard who was always cheerful and helpful.

Carpet in room very grotty and the hotel as a whole was in need of an update/refurbishment.
