Its location.
Windows didn't open very well and couldn't turn down the radiator so was very hot!

It’s a beautiful place, location in front of the sea. Room clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff were lovely.
Shower wasn’t the greatest but not the end of the world. No food options which was a shame. Granted just reopened but for Valentine weekend would have been a bonus and told on arrival there were no breakfast either.

I did not find any problems everything nice all new flooring and a lift to save my legs

It was clean
I paid for a double room and got two beds pushed up together with one bed bigger than the other and kept going apart I asked for a sea view yeah I got that looking at scaffolding what wasn’t advertised before booking the room also the walls are thin you can hear the person in the next room who had there music blasting until stupid o’clock in the morning never again

Lovely clean, comfortable bed.
The room was rather shabby. We were advised to avoid using the lift as it was making a noise. Not a problem for us as we’re fine climbing stairs but would have been a problem for anyone with mobility issues

The staff were amazing, period fittings mixed with modern. A lovely warm welcome, fantastic bed, lovely coffee, food looked lovely (we didn’t eat sadly) definitely book here again in the future

Staff very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was cancelled both mornings and we were given conflicting reasons as to why. Very inconvenient as weather was awful we had a wedding to go to and had to go out in a bad storm to eat.

Close to the beach and the city centre, the staff are so friendly and punctual, the facilities were great as well as suited all my needs! Room itself was cosy, kept neat and clean when serviced!
Maybe the pillows, bit firm for my liking but not a deal breaker whatsoever

Staff were amazing. Nothing too much trouble. Food excellent also.
Carpet in bedroom stained and furnishings a bit tired and old fashioned

The location was on the seafront in a nice part of town. It is near to the main pier.
I am not sure that the wooden window blinds worked. The curtain was thin and didn’t pull all the way over so it was lighter at night that it should have been. The ‘decorative’ pillow left on the bed looked worn and not too clean. Bathroom lock didn’t seem to work. The car park is £14 for 24 hours so this effectively puts up your room rate and there is no subsidy for hotel guests. The hotel does not have much of its own personality.

Bed comfortable. Bathroom big. Salt and pepper in kitchen. Bedside lamps. The water was hot.
Receptionist practically threw us through the door and thrust a box of tea and coffee facilities in our hands before scurrying away. Kitchen very basically equipped eg one tablespoon. Kitchen equipment in poor state. Bottle shelf in fridge missing barrier so bottles fell to the floor. Pop up bin doesn't pop up. The two mugs were badly stained. Bedroom TV remote not working so didn't use as ridiculous to have to get out of bed to change stations and volume. One drawer unusable as sticks. Snug: window sill filthy beneath where blind drops. Only one small tube of hand/body wash per person described as providing toiletries. Only one hand towel between two people. Had to walk to to main hotel to ask for a second one. Heating not working. Had to ask receptionist to switch it on. Apparently the boiler wasn't switched on. My mum is 84 and would have benefitted from handles in the bath. There's no bathroom cabinet for visitors toiletries.

The room was nice and comfortable.
I got lost a couple of times as there weren’t any signs to guide you back to reception.
The room was really hot even with the windows open.
Bathroom was really small and I could barely turn round in the shower.
I am petite but there’s no way my 6 ft partner would have been able to get in there.

The view and massive balcony were brilliant! And John was very helpful with the room issues I had even though he couldn't resolve them.
I felt a bit like I was being told off on the phone for booking last minute since "everyone has been checked in". Instead of telling me about the car parks close by available on the phone I was told to read an email from booking.com as it's "all on there". The female receptionist had a frosty tone - I'd had a crappy day and booked last minute, where's the compassion? The room is not worth £197 and the only thing that saves it is the view. The thermostat has broken off the radiator, the sink was blocked, the bed was hard and creaky and the floor boards are creaky. It was very warm so had to have a loud fan on all night. The box of tea bags and coffee - exactly 3 each for a 3 person room. It says you can bring the box back to get refilled, but for a nearly £200 room - really?

Fantastic location and a wonderful Seaview
Would have preferred to have room with balcony but was unavailable ,as room is rather small and gets very hot in sunny weather.

There was a terrible smell like sewage in the bathroom but it was spotless that was unfortunate may just be a blockage in the system somewhere.

Furnishings are a bit tired but other than that great place to stay. This was second visit recently and when I checked in , I was remembered and given a lovely greeting. All staff so friendly and go out of their way for you, Reception, bar and cleaning staff. I will be back again.
Great location minutes from the Pier, Town Centre. Opposite short walk to Marine Lake. Fantastic Arts trail around Town.. For food if you like Thai recommend @Thailimeleaves and for breakfast/ lunch/ roast recommend @ Regent Omelette Bar and Cafe Restaurant 😋
Old furnishings and shower took ages to heat , TV didn't work but was a lower ground floor room but apart from that clean and comfortable .

The staff were incredible friendly & helpful, atmosphere was good & location was great.
The hotel rooms are too close together & not soundproofed. I could hear every footstep, cupboard bang, extracter fan & hairdryer from the adjacent rooms. Our neighbouring guests seemed to have no concept of being considerate & were banging around until 3am. I did not sleep that night. Thankfully my 9 year old was asleep before they started making noise so she slept through. Not an issue with the staff, just seriously lacking soundproofing which is fine unless your neighbours decide to have a shower & dry their hair at 2am!

The blinds in the room needed cleaning the skirting boards were coming off the walls and the shower needs fixing as the water pressure was because it was leaking out off a fitting of the shower unit

the balcony was great for views and to chill with a drink in the sun
the bathroom and separate toilet were in very small spaces , sitting on toilet was a strategic manoeuvre to avoid whacking your knees//head on adjacent walls .... also both toilet and bathroom had rocker switches to operate light ( should be string pull lights switch ) ..so not safe if you have wet hands.
the rooms very dated ...1970s ..... huge cobwebs in places..shower and skirting boards also tired and dirty ..not much power in the shower

Lock on door to room was flimsy. One push and someone could gain entry to the room. It was a Yale lock and barely fitted into the catch.

Very nice hotel, very friendly staff, excellent location. Room was perfectband very clean. Would stay again. Really enjoyed it here would recommend to everyone
The only thing that didn't make sense was that breakfast is between 9-10am and check out is at 10. Would be better to make check out at 1030 as I found it a rush. (But I had children with me) Also the sausages in the morning were extremely under cooked I noticed alot of guests left them on there plates including myself

Breakfast was good. Especially the poached eggs. Good range of breakfast food available. Lovely friendly helpful staff.
Step up to bathroom was difficult but room had had to be changed due to water leak. Lift takes a while to get used to. Breakfast times rather early in week but we managed to get there.

Breakfast was really value for money and really nice.
The room was really clean and perfect for what we needed but if the fan was broken ( it was an incredibly hot day) it did work but you couldn’t alter it up and down so had to position it higher on the chair but worked fine side to side. The bed and some floor boards were creaky.
