Lovely perfect place

Love, thought and care have gone into everything here. Faith and her team were exceptional - combining diligence with genuine friendliness. Very comfortable and peaceful room (great shower too!). Nice to sit in private outside area listening to just housematins and distant sheep. All the breakfast options I tried were delicious. The immediate area is quiet rolling farmland with some lovely walks, and upper Wasdale, just along the road, has the most dramatic scenery in England. This stay was to be a one-off treat for me but I'm now planning a return visit!

Relaxing, luxurious, tasteful, quiet gem of a place, with the best breakfast and helpful staff.

Everything was wonderful; location, clean and comfortable room, hot tub, professional and friendly staff, delicious breakfast and welcome cake.

The only thing I can mention here is the fact that the boiler had broken so there was no hot water for showers but Faith gave options to reschedule/discount/give kettles of hot water etc and we recognised this was a one-off and unpredictable event.

The place was absolutely stunning, Faith and Steve have thought about everything you could possibly need. The staff were friendly and could'nt do enough for you. The Breakfast was exceptional, with plently of variety.

A fantastic find.

Perfect accommodation. Very clean. Everything you needed exactly where you needed it. Free cake when returning in the afternoon and good selection of drinks that works on an honesty system. Breakfast was freshly cooked and a lovely choice of other breakfast items.

Amazing break. Beautiful views and lovely staff at the property

The property was beautiful, very clean and lots of little extras in the room that made it feel homely. Location was fantastic there were lots of walks to choose from, the breakfast was fab the choices were good. We have already booked to stay again in the bigger rooms in a couple of weeks so would definitely recommend.

Only bad thing was the room above us woke us up both mornings / silly times in the night.

Amazing, will definitely come again

Very modern, definitely the nicest place we’ve stayed in the lakes. The staff were very helpful and catered for us as we are vegan- they even had vegan cake for us- dairy free milk, yoghurt, vegan sausages. It was lovely to stay somewhere we could actually eat the breakfast. All the food was amazing too. They had a well stocked bar, lovely communal spaces and was generally very easy to find. We loved the private outdoor space too.

It was perfect for the type of break we wanted, no fuss, peaceful, clean & owners were lovely.

The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choices. The location was tranquille, it suited our needs for the type of break we wanted. The room called "Stone" was modern & stylish, well thought out, definately value for money. Had folding door onto a stoned patio area, 2 deck chairs to use in a little sun trap. Very relaxing, for mid April my wife I caught the sun in only sitting out for a few hours. It will be even better in mid summer. Easy access to restaurants in Riverglass & Gosforth within 15 minutes drive or less respectively.

Excellent, booking .com needs looking at

The room and the location, the areas like the lounge and breakfast hall were nice too. The room was beautiful and clean, staff were friendly and helpful. You will want to know your plans and know your days so you can book the hot tub and book your breakfast slots. Breakfast looked lovely, This is within walking distance to the lake if you have walking in you, there are taxis in the area too. The honesty bar was not used but we looked at the prices, very reasonable prices we just went to the pub as we had been unable to book what we wanted for dinner a few days in advance (this was our fault)

Not an issue with the place at all, all was beautiful, staff were so helpful and polite But If booking on booking.com... we looked at all rooms, and we went for the room we did as it was the only one that stated hot tub, this is not a private hot tub and I was told I could not book a slot until arrival and by Saturday afternoon most slots had gone we were offered 10:30 pm but after walking all day and waking early to go up Scafell pike this wasn't viable. This is probably just a booking.com issue. Also, booking.com states that breakfast in rooms it will not be served to your room. Again not an issue with the place.

Quality and comfort- really special place

Worthy of all the excellent reviews- we actually booked our room at short notice as an extension of our honeymoon and we weren't really sure what to expect but we were blown away. The guesthouse is meticulously designed with comfort, ethical (and local) sourcing of quality products and modern features at its heart. The photos can't quite do justice to just how special it felt inside! We would love to return and have advised our family and friends to consider a trip!

Outstanding, Couldn’t fault this place!

Where do I start, everything about this place was amazing! The view from our bed was insane. Could see the sunset and watch the alpacas. The food was delicious and all the little touches around the place made our stay even more special. Relaxing in the hot tub after exploring the lakes was the perfect end to the evening. Faith, David and all the other staff here were super friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Anniversary treat

Stayed 1 night in Cairn suite to celebrate our anniversary. We were given a warm welcome and shown around. Everywhere was spotless and covid safe. Room was fab with everything we needed. Hot tub was amazing, so glad we were able to book a slot! Nice touch providing dressing gown and flipflips for the short walk over. I had pre ordered prosecco for the room which we were allowed to have in the hot tub. We had booked evening meal and chose the steak and salmon; both were very good. You book a slot for breakfast the night before, we chose to have it in our room and it arrived piping hot and was cooked to perfection! The honesty bar is a great idea and had a good choice. This is a great place and we would love to try out one of the other rooms although it would be hard to choose which one!

The whole atmosphere and ambience , just perfect .The staff were charming and helpful .The rooms 5 star with complimentary items . The protection offered for covid were excellent too . The food was value for money in every way.
