The room was amazing. Charming and cosy but with all modern conveniences. And with a lovely view with mountains in the distance. The staff were warm and friendly, and treated you like old friends. The WiFi was the best I've experienced in a hotel. The restaurant had great food, with a warm woodburning fireplace.

Lovely room in a refurbished inn and in a great location not far from Eskdale and Wasdale. Beer garden fantastic as the sun went down.
Good choice of beers.
Check in was poor because we were not told that the kitchen closed at 8pm.
This meant that when we went for dinner at 815, we were told we couldnt have food. After complaining to the owner (who was defensive rather than accommodating), a table was found and the food was fine.
Nothing wrong with this pub at all - just treat your guests appropriately if they have a problem!
