Our five-night stay at Apartment Kurt was disappointing due to poor cleanliness, inadequate kitchen
Overall, picked this place based on location.
We stayed at Apartment Kurt for five nights and unfortunately cannot recommend this property based on our experience. The apartment was dark, poorly maintained, and significantly below acceptable cleanliness standards. Upon arrival, the kitchen had ants throughout the area, and surfaces including counters, bedroom furniture, and shelving were covered in heavy dust — suggesting the apartment had not been properly cleaned in a long time. The bedroom carpet was dirty and appeared not to have been vacuumed prior to our stay. Basic kitchen necessities were missing. No dish soap or sponge was provided, making it impossible to clean anything. The coffee and espresso kettles were moldy and unusable. Dishware was extremely limited — only two glasses, two coffee cups, and a few bowls for a multi-night stay. The small refrigerator blocked access to the garden door, which opened to a cluttered and unmaintained outdoor space. The listing also referenced a VCR with dozens of tapes, yet the VCR did not work — an outdated and irrelevant amenity in 2026. We ultimately received only a 15% partial refund, which did not adequately reflect the condition of the apartment. Based on cleanliness issues, lack of usable facilities, and overall maintenance concerns, a substantially larger refund would have been appropriate. Future guests should carefully reconsider booking unless cleanliness and basic accommodation standards are clearly addressed.

A spacious apartment, well priced in a FABULOUS central location with a hotel as reception.
Apartment is attached (albeit across the tiny road) from a hotel that also has this property. The check in was a smooth process within the hotel and then we were shown across the road and assisted with our luggage to get into the apartment. As we were travelling from Australia for a 3 generations family holiday with 4 adults & 2 children for 5 weeks we had a LOT of luggage. Apartment on first sight is spacious with 2 large bedrooms; we already knew about the one bathroom. The outlook is a tiny garden with outdoor furniture; as it was winter the warmth of the apartment greeted us and the 2 young children loved the snow outside. Each bedroom is very spacious with high ceilings and great drapes/curtains and each contained a large double bed and another bed for each child. In the main bedroom there is shelving and wardrobes with books and some games and toys. The kitchen is tiny however everything worked well and there was a table with 6 chairs. The bathroom is off the kitchen and the toilet is in the bathroom. Okay for us as we are 3 generations travelling together and it was known to us before we booked. The location and the hotel staff were both amazing. Apartment is right in the middle of Salzburg. Each morning we went to local cafes for breakfast and then again to local restaurants (within walking distance for children) returning to the welcoming hotel for a drink before going across the safe road to our apartment. The area is very safe and the apartment is great for a few days in Salzburg especially in winter with the Christmas decorations everywhere and the market. We LOVED our time in Salzburg which was made very special by the hotel staff and the cosy, warm and spacious apartment at a reasonable cost. It is almost in a total pedestrian zone with beautiful buildings, castle (a must see) on a hill with a furnicular railway to the top, cobblestone streets and beautifully decorated single shop windows. Thank you to the hosts for a great stay.
It is not that we did not like the following, it is more to be aware that the apartment is an OLDER apartment in a great and very safe building with reception that is friendly and welcoming in a hotel directly opposite over a tiny safe road (who own the apartment). It is priced accordingly and a FABULOUS location. The fridge is tiny however still good enough for yogurt milk and bottles of water and worked well. ALL this is minor as bedrooms are spacious the living/kitchen is adequate and the price was very good value in a busy in pre-New Years Eve time.

Disappointing to be ushered into a disgusting sight of unkempt apartment.
The location.
We were ushered in to a smelly and untidy apartment. It was not cleaned and tidied up before they let us in.

Very poor. Not even coffee enough for two people.
Not too far from center.
No WiFi, no dish towels, stove dirty, bathroom sink drain broken, poorly labeled keys-4 to enter apartment.

Exceeded expectations.
I nearly cancelled this accommodation so many times due to the bad reviews, but glad I didn’t. It’s in a great location & offers parking (rare in old town). The bedrooms were huge & the kitchen was much more functional than described by others - the hot plates do work & it has a kettle, toaster & coffee machine. The shower pressure was good & staff were friendly and accommodating (allowed us to check in early & provided ice for our G&Ts when asked). There were no rats to be seen 😂
It’s initially hard to find (Apple maps tries to send you the wrong way down one-way streets). The bed was squeaky & the fridge is tiny. But there is a grocery shop 30m away so you can just restock regularly. We didn’t find the cleanliness that bad - it’s an old apartment so there are dirty areas, but the useable surfaces were all clean.

Fantastic location, accommodation unfit for purpose
Great location right in the heart of the city
Very bad state of repair. Unusable poorly equipped kitchen. Refrigerator was warm. No tea towels, minimal cutlery dirty and unusable saucepans. No microwave or oven. 2 ring hob very dirty. Terrace unusable, dirty with discarded cigarettes and infested with rats - disgusting.

Good location, good price
The location was very good, easy to walk to many places. Good price. The hotel staff across the road were very friendly and helpful. We had a few hours before our flight so we were able to leave our luggage with them while we wandered the streets.
It was a nice property but you pay for what you get. The apartment was a bit on the older side. One toilet/shower for 5. There was no working exhaust fan in toilet so it was a bit damp and looked like some mould was growing. Also if you drive the back door pathway is in a bush that has quite a few rats.

Save your money and look elsewhere
The apartment was not as advertised at all. There are not 4 beds. It was absolutely filthy, not cleaned and smelled of sewage.
