Fantastic luxury apartment but steep and narrow steps to access

Location in the middle of Chester is perfect. Beds really comfy, lovely big living room with 3 big sofas and nice kitchen and separate dining room. All in all a beautiful apartment that was nice and cosy for a little winter break.

The steep and very thin steps outside are absolutely perilous and should be highlighted in the description more as the flat could be a nightmare for anyone with mobility issues. I dread to think how they would be in icy conditions. Luckily for us the weather wasn’t too bad while we were there. Also, internet was a bit patchy but to be honest we found this an issue in most of central Chester for some reason.

Wonderful apartment .

The hosts were amazing answering many questions , apartment was very clean and spacious .

The apartment is through a dark entry to get to the apartment is a lot of steps . If you have mobility issues this might be a problem . We never let this spoil are weekend .

Fantastic location. Quite spacious.

Very steep steps up to the front door which were difficult in wet weather and with bags. Front of the house was quite noisy at night.

Pre xmas get together

The cleanliness, quality of furnishings were very good. The refreshments and biscuits available. It was in the middle of the town centre, so very handy. Good heating. The kitchen was very well equipped. Nice little cocktail area in the dining room, large dining table. Large comfy sofas with welcome throws just right for a movie night.

The 17 steps up to the door. Not for ladies of a certain age. The shower was hard to regulate (either too hot or too cold). The single mattress needs replacing. The noise of revellers wasn't great but can be expected at this time of year. All in all we did have a good time there.

A comfortable, well equipped apartment in the centre of Chester

Location was perfect - in the centre with easy access to shops, attractions, restaurants etc. Car parking available 5 minutes walk away £8.50 for 24 hours - though street parking is available 6.30pm to 8am Mon - Sat.

Access is via narrow steps from the lane entrance up to the apartment - these need to be used with great care, especially when wet.

Fabulous flat in a great location

Great central location with cafes bars and restaurants . Great decor, lots of space, well kitted out including tea and coffee. Really helpful hosts who added in a highchair and cot for us.

Everything was great, but being picky it would be nice to have some board games and a few milk pots for an initial brew . Would be good to mention the steep stairs to access the flat just in case, like us, we had a pram .

Had a fabulous 3 days in Chester the apartment was wonderful will definitely look to stay here again.

Superb location right in the heart of the city. Rooms were large and very comfortable beds. Huge lounge and well equipped kitchen. Excellent facilities.

WhiteGates Apartment

White gates was in a great location in the centre of town. Next to great shops, restaurants and bars. It has great decor, plenty of space and comfortable seating. We liked the extra touches like providing plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits.

We had a bit of difficulty finding the apartment, even with the instructions provided as the entrance was in a back alley and it was up some very steep steps.

The apartment was beautiful and of a high standard in presentation really central which was a bonus. All facilities needed are available in the apartment, like home from home. Highly rate and will use again.

Absolutely loved it. A great place to explore Chester

The location was amazing! Right beside the taxi shop. Loads of lovely places to eat & drink on bridge street. The decor is beautiful, the comfiest bed I have slept in in years. Lots of lovely extra touches. Plenty of space. Spotlessly clean. We had a slight problem and it was fixed instantly.

It is quite noisy at night for whoever sleeps in the front bedroom…me! Nobody at the back heard anything though. The windows give me the fear, my daughter sleepwalks and I’ve been terrified that she would open the window and fall out. My aunty isn’t the most mobile and the stairs were quite steep, but that’s my fault for not checking.

Good value, location but requires some improvement

The property was well decorated and equipped. In very close proximity to the City Centre, restaurant and bars.

The front door did not easily lock and needed considerable tries to lock, the front gate was stiff and very difficult to open. One of the toilets was not operational, some dishes and cutlery were dirty and required hand washing. There was very little instructions or guidance

Family reunion

Good central location. A spacious apartment with everything we needed. Plenty of seating. We were a party of five,all family with two people visiting from Australia. They loved Chester

Property location was amazing. Near everything! The living room was cozy and large. The place comes equipped with all the basics. Overall, very nice!

The beds weren't very comfortable, although that's been my experience at any rental, so it wasn't a negative against the place for me. Also, this may have been pointed out and I just missed it when I booked, but the outside stairs are quite steep and narrow, so I'd give a little more warning in the pre-reads about that.

Convenient location but dangerous/unpleasant access and generally a bit in need of a freshen-up.

The apartment is very conveniently located in the middle of Town if you don't mind the noise that this inevitably brings with it. Right opposite the Slug and Lettuce and above a taxi rank, so noise continues until the early hours of the morning. The apartment inside is comfortable and well-equipped, though a bit run-down generally.

Unfortunately the access to the apartment is via a filthy cobbled street, lined with local restaurant bins, slippery cardboard and broken glass. Also very smelly in the summer! To get to the door of the apartment you have to tackle some very steep steps which was frightening to negotiate with my mother, who is in her eighties and a bit wobbly. My other comment would be that the stairs inside the properly need a rail to make them safe.

Very clean, very well equipped with all needs, high quality materials, great location in city centre, convenient self check in and out with very clear instructions and plan before moving in.

The only unavoidable downside is the entrance of the flat near bins of the area + unsafe stairs

Very disappointing - expensive as I had to book a hotel.

The flat was large, clean & nicely decorated. Great location but as expected a little noisy at night

The flat inside is over 2 steep stairs The entrance is beyond steep & I would class dangerous Nothing in the description said it would not be suitable for anyone with even a mild problem with climbing . You need to be able to climb 3 lots of very steep, narrow stone stairs outside ( which is the fire escape )before you even enter the building. You are level with the roof of the next door before you even enter. The stairs we so bad I had to book a hotel as I could not enter safely. My daughter with toddler stayed with me as it too risky carrying him down in the rain.
