A memorable and carefree stay in Botafogo/RDJ

Easy to find, though there are a couple of Ibis Hotels so make sure you enter the correct one. I mistakenly went to another one but the staff at reception were very helpful. Botafogo is a great place to stay and Ibis Styles is quite close to supermarkets, pharmacies and a mall. You don’t have to worry about staying anywhere else as it’s just a short uber ride away. I have to give a special shoutout - The Staff at Ibis Styles from the security to the cleaning staff to then the absolutely amazing reception staff l all deserve a special recognition. You guys made my stay absolutely carefree and unforgettable! When I come again I will definitely look for free rooms here first!

Disgusting and dirty. Rude staff. Worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in

The breakfast had a good selection and the hostess at breakfast (Gerusa) was a lovely lady

Extremely Dirty - our bed was disgusting. Mattress full of dirt. Room not cleaned for two days, despite asking 3 times. When cleaned on day 3, dirty towels taken and no clean replacements, had to get from reception (see pictures on bed) Reception staff - rude and disinterested. When explaining room needed cleaning didn’t look at me, typed on computer and didn’t speak (Luis). Not a single apology despite room cleanliness issues. Same approach when our room key reset every time we left the property. When eventually getting maintenance to look on day 3 the door lock had malfunctioned. Expensive - We stayed at new year (so cost to be expected). That said, for much less than the price we paid I could have stayed in a hostel and would have had a more pleasant experience

Need maintenance and improve the cleanliness of the rooms

The location is central. It is close to the Pão de Açúcar. Rooms are a good size for Ibis standards.

The location of the hotel is not very pleasant. Many homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks. Very dirty streets. The hotel is in need of maintenance and cleaning. We stayed (currently canceled the reservation) on the top floor. Our room had a lot of mosquitoes from the bathroom drain all over the room. On the ceiling of the room there was a huge stain of seepage with mold. The ceiling in the bathroom was all black with mould. The bathroom smelled like mildew. We complained at the reception and asked for the cancellation. Was told that this was not possible. We asked someone to go up and see the condition of the room. The person saw it and suggested changing the room. We chose to cancel the reservation as not only the room but the hotel corridor was also very dirty. The hotel finally canceled our reservation. Disappointing!

Fair price, great central location

The room was as advertised, fully equipped with TV, mini-bar and safe. The bathroom was spacious and well-equipped. The buffet breakfast is convenient. The location is great: metro station next to the hotel and central point to go to the beaches (Ipanema, Leblon, Copacabana) or to the city center (Santa Teresa, etc.)

Breakfast with little option. After one week, you get tired of it. The room walls are thin, so that noise will depend on your neighbors. The check-in and check-out may take some time, but it is not that bad considering it was carnival time.

The staff was not willing to listen to our complaints. First we received a room without electricity and they thought we could stay in the room anyway. The girl at the reception said there is no other room available. After a long time she gave us another room. After a whole of touring we came to a dirty room that was not cleaned. When we complained, they only told us that nobody can clean the room at 21:15. We asked to get another clean room but said they have no other rooms available. when we checked on booking.com there were rooms available. When we asked to get towels, she dirt told us to wait to tomorrow but later gave them to us. They were not willing to give anything as a sorry

Location is very good. WiFi is acceptable.

Breakfast is rather poor for more than $8 charged. The room for almost $90 (!!!) was outdated, there was no single glass in the room, and no blanket provided at all. The staff didn't seem to be much interested in guests' satisfaction.

Perfect place to stay for Revellion

the breakfast buffet was delicious and well maintained by staff. the bathroom in our room was nice / new. we were given extra pillows when we asked for them. the location is very close to the metro and the beach. there is a 24hr front desk with snacks and drinks available to purchase. some staff spoke english which was helpful for our little bit of portuguese.

the bed could have been a little more comfortable and it only came with a thin sheet. it would be nice to have an optional blanket in the room somewhere. maybe a tiny bit better cleaning for things like the floor and the chair in the room. no free coffee throughout the day.
