Super friendly staff, beautiful location and lake view

I loved the Europalace Hotel. The staff was incredibly nice, welcoming and always very helpful, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We stayed in lake view rooms, and waking up to the stunning view over Lake Maggiore was a big plus. The location is also excellent - just a 3-minute walk to the ferry station , which makes it very easy to explore many beautiful destinations around the lake. Also, the hotel's restaurant "La Cave" really stood out - it was honestly the best place we tried in town, from the service to the dishes. While some of the dishes are on the pricier side, there are also very reasonable options, so you can enjoy excellent food whatever your budget. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would happily stay there again.

Honestly, there wasn’t really anything I didn’t like. The only small thing was the breakfast buffet — it could have had a bit more variety from day to day. But overall it was still very good, and the cooks were super nice and helpful too.

Good but a bit pricey

Huge room but unfortunately I got no lake view. Very easy to get everywhere from the hotel and it’s right near the ferry station.

Excellent location, welcoming staff, great lake views

The hotel is right in front of the lake, 5 minutes from the ferry, but no noise, clean, calm and quiet. Rooms with a view are great. Breakfast had a good variety of sweet/salty choice. Restaurant is also a good option. Hospitality was great. Overall excellent stay in a charming old-school place.

Bathrooms are recently renovated but they forgot to put shelves/racks/holders for the toilet paper, the shampoo and soap (so one has to stretch a bit to reach them). No tea boiler and minibar in the room.However, we found these minor, relative to the excellent hospitality and stay we had.

The breakfast was fabulous The room was spacious

The room was cold (no heating available during the cold snap in May) & the decor desperately needs refreshing/updating. The TV was tiny. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The bed was cold but the spare blanket, or perhaps it was dust in the carpet or couch, gave me hay fever. The light switch buzzed constantly when turned on.

Central location and next to lake, this is reason for choosing the hotel. Rooms are old, need renovation but no problem for us as both rooms are clean and big enough.

Hotel needs renovation and already started in some rooms during off season when we stayed. We stayed on 4th floor and rooms were cold in general, can understand this due to current situation. But we woke up with the noise of drilling machine on Monday at 8 am. There were some men doing renovation at our floor. Come on this is a hotel, people might be sleeping… When we mentioned this issue to reception during check out. He told me this is Italy people works as of 8 am. How come a receptionist of the hotel can reply like this, instead of simple apology? This is very annoying and arrogant. Fist time I had experienced something like that.

Disappointing

The location is the only good thing about this property. It’s directly facing the lake and the breakfast area is charming.

The rooms need major renovation: from the bed, to the couch to the bathroom. Literally everything is super old. When you open the door to the room, you smell the odor of mold and dust. What’s worst is that we made a reservation to a room with queen bed; they sent us to the only room available which was one with 2 single beds. Instead of making up for their mistake, we ended up paying an additional 10€ a night to change rooms to one with a queen bed. They didn’t even apologize. Wifi connection is awful. The room doesn’t have: a safe, tissues, bin, kettle, etc. The room had a nice balcony overviewing the lake but no chairs. The towels were super old and stained. The bathroom wasn’t clean with some hair left on the bath tub from previous travelers. We left a “don’t disturb” sign on the door handle when we left the hotel for a few hours because our stuff were literally everywhere. They ignored the sign and went into the room anyway. They didn’t even replace the towels. They did so when we called them afterwards. The hotel is understaffed; the same person is: the receptionist, concierge and waiter during breakfast and dinner. This hotel is wasted money and we would never return there again.

Hotel Europalace - nostalgia at the lake coast.

Hotel is really in excellent location. View to lake and mountains is beautiful. If you prefer to stay in hotel with big rooms, this is good choice. Rooms are large enough, you feel that it was luxurious hotel some time ago. Yes, it is not extremely modern, but if you like "nostalgia" and heavy keys instead of plastic card, this is your place. Breakfast was also very good, you can find something for everyone.

We had only one problem - as in Italy, English is sometimes little problem. Finally, we solved everything and we had great time in Europalace. Thanks

1 night stop in Verbania

It was a bit cold in the room. We tried fixing the heating sensor on the wall up to 23 but still did not work. We were here end of October This is an old fashion hotel, it has its charm. It is simple.

The location is top. We had a beautiful view with 2 small balconies facing the lake. It is close to the restaurants and right on the walking area of the city. The receptionist and the man serving us breakfast were so friendly. The room was very big. 30msq. Parking is free on the right side of the hotel (the white places) and it is very close. 1 minute walking. On the left side there are many parking spaces also but you pay (the blue ones). Ferry boat is 1 minute also from the hotel. Breakfast was delicious.
