Modern and comfortable in a luxury vintage hotel beside the lake

Lovely hotel with exceptional staff. Relaxed cool and spacious. Lawn down to the lake with small private beach. Excellent facilities. Small but very adequate pool and fitness suite

Stunning hotel in stunning location

Beautiful hotel on the banks of Lake Maggiore with stunning views. The food in the restaurant was also very good with the opportunity to eat out on the terrace in the evening. We had only booked one night en route to Lake Como, would definitely consider a longer stay.

Beautiful location at the lake

The location directly at the lake is amazing! Also the new facilities like the gym and pool area are a very nice touch, all while being in this beautiful historic building!

The rooms still have this older Italian flair. So while everything is clean etc. I believe they could update the furniture in the rooms at this point. Finally the coffee machine at breakfast could be a actual espresso machine.

A very good stay!

A great location on the edge of town, with fabulous gardens, a small beach allowing us to swim in the lake, and smiling staff.

Everything was excellent, but some more comfortable furniture on the balcony would have been welcome.

Quiet luxury at its best

The location is exceptional. The hotel has a lovely garden with sunbeds, direct access to the lake where you can swim or use a paddleboard (available at the hotel), and the view from the garden is fantastic. You can see the whole Bay and the St. Giovanni Island is so close. Other islands are within reach (rented boat or "public transportation ferry" from village (10 min walk maximum). There are premium rooms have the lake view / we had "street view" and were a bit afraid that it would be noisy / was not at all. We were lucky with the weather and were outside on the sunbeds / however, there is indoor swimming pool as well.

Breakfast was disappointing and not to the level of the hotel. This was a cheap and cheerful spread - as if you were in a cheap all inclusive. Low quality food. This came as a shocker as dinner was first class.

Ideal property to stay in Verbania

Ideally located on the lakeside, perfect for a short walk into the centre and for taking boat trips. Our room had a lakeside view and felt very Italian. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially the bar man who provided excellent customer service!

A fantastic stay at Verbania

The location of the hotel is excellent. Our suite was spacious and well designed. The shower was a bit small. Breakfast was standard, and I hoped to find baked beans or roesties as an add on. But in general it was good.

Those were the golden days. Back then, we were at our best.

Breakfast was a deception. Every dish on the buffet was empty as soon as it arrived and it took a long time to refill. Also extra charges for eggs, juices or anything were horrendous. The dinner at the hotels restaurant was good. The vegetarian options looked nice but were completely tasteless. Salad looked fancy but came without sauce.

Bedroom decor a little dark and dated and more comfortable seating would have been nice. Scrambled egg and bacon were not good and breakfast repetitive. More variety of fruit and not having to pay another €10 for anything extra would have been nice as the cost of our holiday for one week was high. Young boys playing noisily daily (staff children?)at the end of the afternoon spoilt the peace and quiet and generally messing about in the sauna. Our bedroom wasn’t made up one day by mistake, rectified later on request

3 star service at 5 star rates. Disappointing breakfast and service. Families keep away.

The property is beautiful with great access to lake. Stayed at the lakeside suite, which was spacious but the room is dated and needs better maintenance.

This property charges 5 star rates for 3 star service. The breakfast was underwhelming with very limited choice and substandard quality of food. On top, during breakfast we had to wait half an hour to get a coffee and cutleries never arrived at our table so we had to fetch on our own. There was no one to offer/ask for a baby chair. During check in, despite carrying a sleeping child on our shoulder, the hotel reservation manager tried to convince us that we were supposed to pay an extra 130 Euro plus 30 euros breakfast for our 3 year old child and kept shouting loudly as if we didn't understand English and made us wait a long time. We agreed to pay whatever as we were tired from the journey, but later referred to the booking conditions which stated that only children from 4 years and above are chargeable. We had also requested an early check in possibility by 2 hours, the hotel again informed us of an outrageous charge for it, so we didn't end up opting. Overall, if the hotel shows half the enthusiasm of charging guests outrageous amounts on it's overall service and upkeep, it has the potential to be a decent hotel.

Wonderful grand hotel on the Lake fora relaxing holiday.

The location and the facilities are excellent, especially the Junior suite sizes and balcony views. The lounge chairs in the front yard are comfortable, and there was plenty of space for everyone to have a certain level of social distancing privacy. The ability to swim in lake out front was nice. The walk to the main hub if Palanza, with many restaurants, shops, the lighted fountain and ferries also extremely convenient. Parking near hotel also free on street.

Although the Suites we’re very generous in size, the shower stall was small/tight. If we quibble, we would have liked a spa with steam room and hot tub too.

Location was great. Breakfast excellent. Nice atmosphere. Lovely lounge area. Robes and slippers.

The bathroom was not up to standard. The plastic shower curtain was very shoddy, though clean. One of the basin supports was detached and was hanging off the wall. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.

Simply fabulous

Simply beautiful. Fabulous hotel which oozes class. Wonderful location right on the waterfront with gardens and a beach. Quiet one-way road plus cycle track into Pallenza. Great pool and lovely restaurant.

highly recommend! a perfect honeymoon trip

everything! the location and amenities were perfection!!!! the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. we stayed as part of our honeymoon & they upgraded our room one level from full to fill lake view & gave us a cute congrats note upon check in!!

the prices to eat at the hotel were outrageous compared to Italy prices. 38E for a steak & 8E for genato are basically NYC prices! I have to say the breakfast, lunch and drinks were all phenomenal quality despite the “taking advantage of tourist” prices. the rooms smell a little musty but we didn’t mind too much because they were so clean comfy and had amazing views!
