good location, short walk from ferry terminal. Delicious breakfast. high ceilings, big windows, clean bathrooms, nice outdoor courtyard, nice view.

my only suggestion is more power outlets near each bed. I suggest a power strip or two for charging phones and devices. I had to unplug the desk light to charge the phone.

Sleepless nights with a lake view

Hostel situated in a historic villa up the hillside. Great lake view from the balconies, and only 5mins by foot from the lakeshore and old town. Limited parking available. Great breakfast in the basement lounge. Clean bathrooms and showers.

The only drawback - but a MAJOR one - is that the bunk beds are a cheap metal construction which shakes at the slightest motion of a person in either upper or lower bed. Which means, unless you are lucky and have the bunk to yourself, you will not sleep a lot. This is a pity, with better bunk beds this would easily become the best hostel in a 100km radius.

Nice private room

Very nice, well kept hostel. Great location with lake views on the back terrace. Superb breakfast!

Unfortunately the water was hardly warm which made showering not particularly pleasant.

Great location and value. Breakfast was a nice bonus.

My only remark would be that the kitchen was not at all big enough for the size of the hostel, so I would not recommend cooking there if there are many other people staying at the same time.

Great value stay in Verbania

Beautiful, quiet location with views over the lake. Good selection of food for breakfast. Very helpful, friendly staff.

Kitchen: not a lot of room in the shared fridge, ants in one of the cupboards, and no tea towel to dry dishes.

Unpleasant

Front desk staff (Alissa) was very kind and helpful.

I was very unhappy with my stay. I was in a 10 bed dorm with majority much older men who made me feel very uncomfortable. I was told to pick any clean bed with fresh linens, so I chose one and left some belongings on it. When I returned later my belongings were thrown on the ground and there was a man asleep in my bed. When I tried to ask the man why he was asleep in my bunk he yelled at me and turned away. The facilities were also unkept and smelled. The price per night is very affordable but I did not find it to be worth it for the stress that came with staying there. I left in the middle of the night to find another accommodation last minute.

Ok place for a couple nights

Good breakfast, clean, nice views, friendly & helpful staff Good for a couple nights but not very comfortable otherwise.

A sterile environment - it felt like they almost go out of their way to make things uncomfortable - you can’t control the temperature in the showers, there’s no place to put things in the shower, one soap dispenser for 5 sinks - and it sanitizing gel, not soap. Beds & pillows aren’t the best - uncomfortable. Almost no outlets in the room or they don’t work, besides one strip of them so everyone had to put their phones across the room at night. Also note that there’s no dorm sizes listed which feels misleading - my dorm had 12 beds - something I would have never booked had I known the size. Minimal social atmosphere (also a kids sleep away summer camp was being hosted at the same time which is strange for a hostel).

Breakfast was a large buffet (but a bit sweet and not many fruits. Vegan and a lot vegetarian options). The area us beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature, plants, birds chirping and fresh air. Everything is really clean. The female dorm gets cleaned every day, is spacious, all good. But could need a chair, table or little things like so to place you belongings on them. Toilets are clean, but need more toilet paper! Showers are clean and warm.

The kitchen could be as well inexistent: no salt and spices, no oil, no knifes, no garbage bin, barely dishwasher liquid, no towel, only two pans. But clean and they have a fridge. The wifi doesn't really work. I needed it to work there on my laptop, asked at the reception (to unplug it and plug it in again), they weren't really helpful. I couldn't use it during my entire stay. Very frustrating if I need it for work and you're telling me you have wifi!

Superb

Class accommodation with many possibilities in the large outdoor area for sporting activities, but also for resting. Lake Maggiore, restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance. In the evening we ate in the hotel's restaurant - it was very tasty.

the view was really beatifull and very good brakefast.

the heater didn't work on the first day, and where we ask to the staff do something to fix was very grumpy. Finally, she fix the problem. Also, bed no was a king bed, was two beds in one, for a couple is't complicated to sleep.

The hostel is very basic, but very clean. The included breakfast was very good and generous, given the price. the staff was friendly and helpful. Also, the hostel has a beautiful view of the lake, the mountains, and Verbania.

In some showers the pressure was just too low, others did not have a proper lock.

Great place if you want to get away and work remotely for a few days. The views of Lake Maggiore and the palm trees from the hostel are stunning and the hostel is kept very clean by the housekeepers. Great breakfast.

To get to hostel in Verbania, you need to get a bus from Verbania-Pallanza train station, so it is a good idea to check the bus timetable. Also, if you buy a bus ticket on the bus, you can only pay in cash as they do not accept card.

A very nice place!

The view to the lake and mountains, garden, kitchen with facilities, spacious room, nice personel, close to the city center, breakfast included (with good coffee, juice, toasts, cheese, meat, sweet stuff, cakes, fruits, musli). Additional blanket in case of cold, comfy bed. The price!!

Only a few sockets and some don't work. You cannot regulate water temperature in the shower, you just push the button and water runs for 5 seconds, then push again...

Here for the second time

Magnificent view, privacy despite it being a hostel, delicious breakfast, cleanliness and easy access. The receptionist is always friendly and polite, responsive within minutes. There is also a well equipped kitchen and a lounge room with a petite balcony. Spacious territory, a pool and chill zone outside.

Tucked away hostel

The location was very close to the town centre. The pool was fantastic. Great for a hot day. The view from the balcony was very lovely. Breakfast was very nice.

There was very limited power plugs in the room so it was very awkward trying to charge everyone's phones. A word of advice, bring a very long phone cable. It was quite hot so the window had to remain open, but that also means the room is very bright, very early in the morning.

Double room at Ostello Verbania

Location and view are great, breakfast was delicious with many options (also for the gluten intolerant). Even though we left our hostel days behind us and stayed in a double room, my past self could absolutely appreciate the facilities and quality of the hostel. We loved the restaurants and coffee places more on the Verbania side, rather than Intra.

Bed maybe was a bit small, as the room (we stayed in the double room) is quite big, a bigger bed could be considered in the heat. Still it was absolutely value for the money, we loved our stay.
