The hotel and staff were lovely! I would happily return!

Beautiful and elegant hotel. Room was great with a balcony and view of the lake. Friendly and attentive staff including arranging a taxi for our pickup at the Verbania train station. Direct access to the lake with plenty of space and seating to lounge outside. Great breakfast with a variety of selections. We also enjoyed our dinner there. 5 to 10 minute walk to the downtown area.

Excellent old elegant hotel. Nice large room with a GREAT view. Restaurant was very nice and welcoming. Pool indoors was a bit loud with kids around, otherwise just fine. Spa is a bit limited but the massages were well done and most of all in a quiet atmosphere. The service was better than in most 4* places. One person stands out Sara Spagnoli, was extremely exigent and proactive in getting us all we required and arranging restaurants and the boat rental, which was the highlight. Lake was amazingly beautiful and relaxing.

Location is extraordinarily beautiful, directly on Lake Maggiore. Breakfast buffet service is lavish and delicious. Outdoor property is well maintained. Spa area and rooms require refurbishing.

grand hotel with plastic chairs, broken plumbing (and shelves), and generally not greatly accommodating. not near boat rentals. not too child friendly. however, very friendly staff.

This is beautiful stately old building. The best part is there large balconies that look over a huge yard and the lake. There is a balconie for dining and a different one for drinks or just lounging. The yard is kept perfect and there are lounge chairs and small tables for sunbathing. They have a pretty pool that's surrounded by glass doors that weren't kept open. The room smelled like cloureen. I think if the doors were all open it would have been used more but as it was I didn't find it inviting. There is a lovely dining room that is 3 walls of glass looking at the yard and lake. Inside the grand entranceway is large and lovely steps wrap around to the 5th floor giving a stately view up to the roof.

Wonderful hotel. Friendly and professional staff in reception and at breakfast.

Terrible, dont book this hotel at all !!!!. Since day one the experience wasnt the best. Not very friendly staff at check in. Terrible internet, very rude staff in the restaurant for room service. Its an amazing place ruined by the terrible service..... a big pity .

Wonderful views, beautiful gardens. Excellent dining room.

The Majestic is high quality, excellent service but a little too traditional and conservative.The breakfasts are excellent, the room service is very good and cleanliness is brilliant.The hotel has an air of opulence which is perhaps a bit too much - e.g. why have antique chairs in the reception area which youre not allowed to sit on - just when you need a chair after a hard days travel. You have to ask for everything - weather forecast, tea/coffee in your room. Having said that we really enjoyed our stay; the location is first class and the views are superb. We supposedly had a partial lake view, but the only thing blocking it was an island with a large house on it.Staff were very pleasant, well organised and helpful. We would go again because it suited our needs in a lovely location.

I would also recommend booking a table at the Michelin starred restaurant Il Portale in town. There is a cycle path literally outside the front door of the hotel which was great for us - it’s also easy to take the bikes on ferry across the lake to see a different area. Make sure you do one of the military island boat trips - fabulous islands and a great way to spend a day - especially with some fizz!

We had asked for two rooms close to each other and not only was our request met, but we were given a room upgrade. The hotel staff go out of their way to be helpful. The hotel is conveniently located five minutes on foot from Pallanza where there is a good selection of restaurants and shops. It’s worth trying out dinner in the hotel restaurant just for the experience and the view, not to mention the food is of a high standard. We would definitely consider returning to the appropriately named Grand Majestic Hotel.

Beautiful hotel in all respects

Lovely hotel on lakeside with beautiful views, garden, own beach and pool. Located nicely between Verbania and Pallanza, both with good selection of restaurants within walking distance, as well as the lake ferry port where a great tour of the islands us available.

Given an upgrade to very comfortable top floor two tier room with views over lake and mountains. Quiet position easy short walk into town and ferry to the islands. Very helpful reception staff.

We had a wonderful time at the Grand Majestic Hotel. On arrival we were given a up grade to a junior suite, it was great, we had a lovely large and comfortable room with 2 balconies and a superb view of the lake and mountains. The room was very clean and tidy. The hotel staff were all great, very friendly and helpful at all times. The restaurant La Beola was amazing! The food was of top restaurant quality a very good chef, and the waiters were very efficient and friendly, and the views over the lake watching the sun go down was wonderful. The facilities (pool, sauna, Beauty treatments) were good as well. And of course the location is the best in the area. In all it was a great holiday.

Fab boutique hotel

The hotel is in a lovely position close to the centre of Pallanza. The welcome was gracious and the facilities are excellent, well kept gardens and indoor pool.

Second visit and not disappointing. Staff remembered us from 3 years earlier. Could t do enough. Hotel beautifully kept. Nothing too much trouble. We plan another visit before too long

The food was less than desired, had an issue with pre frozen snacks. Decided to eat at the local restaurant in Pallanza

We were visiting for a wedding and expected a customer focused hotel. We were wrong. We had friend staying nearby and made arrangements for them to visit with us in the hotel gardens. When they arrived they were told that they were not guests and turned away. This was odd given the previous day the hotel arrange a boat tour for all of us. The reason for the refusal was they had a dog and there was a Ferrari tour so the hotel was busy (garden was empty and dog was allowed previous day). Our friends offered to not bring in the dog but were still refused unless we paid 50 Euro’s. This was upsetting and we decided to leave the hotel to go to the public beach. We were stopped when leaving and told that we were not allowed to bring the hotel’s towels to the beach. We spoke with the manager and offered to pay if we lost the towels. He refused our request and was extremely rude. His treatment of us was disturbing given we were paying guests. Marco proceeded to rip the towels from our arms. Frustrated, we left the hotel. On the way out we were asked for our car keys to move our car for the Ferrari tour. Guests with nicer cars get preferential treatment. We indicated we would be leaving early and to please not block in our car. Upon checking out, our car was blocked. This was frustrating given we were anxious to move on and this cause a delay. I hope this outlines the poor customer service. Marco needs customer service training.

There were too many irritating problems for a hotel of the apparent standard and price. The safe didn't work, the fridge was broken, there was no coffee machine and only 2 plugs with European fittings. The Reception staff were not friendly or helpful. We were expected to pay for two small bottles of mineral water every day. The breakfast buffet was merely adequate with no cooked options apart from a vat of lukewarm scrambled eggs. Would not recommend this hotel if you want a luxury venue.

Though my stay was pleasant, staff could come of a little rude. On occasions had asked for services ie.hangers & ironing services etc. and the hotel never came through or were not very accommodating.
