Hostel rather Hotel

Honestly - we didn't end up staying here as the pictures on the website look far more appealing than the reality. It was our fault that we didn't check it had shared bathrooms/shower cubicles but I assumed that calling it a hotel would mean a ensuite bathroom. This felt more like a hostel.

The room was cramped and uncomfortable in the heat. The shower cubicles and toilets were basic and there was no hand wash. We quickly made the decision to not stay here and left.

hotelF1 disappointing instructions given by email. Might be difficult to check in

Close to food and to the ferry

No instructions were supplied by email and when I arrived late I should have had received instructions for the check-in. If it was not a friendly guy explaining how to use the outside machine to do the check in I would have stayed in the street if no one was there. Wrong information is given starting reception available 24h. That is not true. Also 2 guys were also having problems with the check-in as they were saying that haven't received any confirmation and they didn't know what to do. Better instructions should be provided to customers!!!!

Arrived after 9pm so had to check in using machine. Failed to let us check-in for 15mins. Communal toilets and showers not great. Very loud guests in room nearby, could hear everything happening!!!

It may have been my mistake, but I didn't realise that the rooms came with no wc or showers, the toilets/ showers by the front door were dirty and people smoking in it. It wasn't pleasant I'm afraid.

Convenient for ferry port.

Convenient for the ferry port and well priced compared to others in the area (but still not cheap.) Immaculately clean. Parking a real bonus. It's a bit like the "pod" concept of hotels with bigger rooms. Out of the hotel and turn right for some pleasant jogging routes. Would use again.

There isn't much around the hotel, it's in a trading estate so no bars or restaurants close by. Carrefour is a short drive away and there is a McDonalds within walking distance (🤮) but not much else. My heater appeared to be set at a low temperature and I was unable to change it, don't know if that is hotel policy or just mine malfunctioning.

Do NOT stay here!

Do not stay here! It isn’t immediately obvious that the rooms do not have their own bathroom, you have to share a filthy toilet and filthy shower with no towels provided. One of the rooms STANK! Fortunately we were forced to book two rooms so we ended up all sleeping in one room. The floor was filthy. The pillows had barely any stuffing and I think the bed had bugs…we were all itchy the next day! We tried to complain but the manager was rude, kept pointing at me whilst aggressively shouting, then asked another guest at the hotel, an 18 year old boy, whether he though the room smelt…um … oh and the wafting smells of cannabis in the corridors at night all added to what was a quite awful experience!

Fine on a budget for a nights stay and short drive to the ferry port

Good for the ferry, toilets and showers are shared between guests, for the price it was fine for a night to ensure your get to the ferry on time. Very basic but clean and affordable on a budget. McDonald’s and supermarket a short drive away too.

Flexible, clean, good value overnight accommodation with no frills.

Basic but adequate. Just what I needed for an overnight stay and a very early departure as it provided flexibility. maybe slightly further from St Malo town centre than I wanted but it did the trick as I had a bicycle.
