Ideal for overnight stop before getting ferry to Jersey

A warm welcome from staff. We had travelled a long way we were tired dnd wanted to eat at the hotel, we were very pleasantly surprised, the food was delicious. We’ll definitely be staying there again , we asked for a ground floor room which was ideal as we had three dogs with us.

There was nothing we didn’t like, but as one of your questions was about lighting, the bathroom could have had a brighter light in it

An enjoyable and comfortable last evening in France.

I often use Best Western Hotels for short stays and this one was equally enjoyable. I chose it for our last night in France as its very close to the Port of St Malo from where we were to depart the following day. The facilities do vary across this chain and I was pleasantly surprised to find a good sized pool and spa, which were both very clean. The hotel was easy to find, comfortable in every respect with onsite parking, a great benefit in France where parking is limited and expensive. The breakfast was very generously prepared with a range of food that would cater to almost everyone. Dinan has many attractions and one of the most enjoyable is the Old Port on the River Rance and its spacious marina. My wife had never sailed a boat, so we hired a little little electric dingy for an hour which she soon got the hang of and we went as far as the lock and also to the top of the river in the other direction. Its also less popular with tourists which gives it a more French feeling and its less congested than St Malo. The next morning before we headed for the ferry was spent at the farmers market and we bought all manner of regional treats that included saussison (French Garlic Sausage) from the area and a good quality Calvados, an apple Brandy thoughtfully transported from nearby Normandy where its quality is carefully controlled. The attractions in Brittainy are far too numerous to mention in this short overview of our hotel, but I must just mention my disappointment at not having time to re-visit the beauty of two chateau's, Chombord and Chenonceau in easy driving distance of Dinan which give an insight into the grand way the aristocracy lived in days gone by. That said it was time to head back the port to catch the ferry to our home in Jersey where another treat waited for us. The Jersey Vintage Car Club were also returning with a small fleet of beautifully prepared vintage cars, which brightened up the ferry car park no end!

Not knowing the area, the location was further outside of Dinan than what I would have liked as there was nothing to see in the evenings in the immediate area of the hotel, although it is ideally placed for an onward journey.

Great place for a stop over

Excellent all round. Paul on Reception was exceptional, spoke great English and couldn’t have been more helpful. He helped us safely store our bikes and surf boards too.

Handy edge of town location with free car parking. Rooms modern & clean & quiet. Plentiful breakfast. Wi-fi fine.

Typical Best Western - ie inconsistencies - most especially staffing. Some great, some not so on customer service. There was confusion over dinner booking which, having been given wrong info, led us to having to drive into town to find a place to eat.

Excellent staff! A great short stay!

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Paul the manager helped us many times. My mother has mobility issues and he got us a fantastic room that was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for him or the team! The ladies on the restaurant were lovely and welcoming and the food was delicious. A really relaxing stay.

The staff are friendly, the manager is very capable, very helpful and friendly. I asked the the server in the restaurant if it's possible for the chef to cook something small for my toddler and they made it. It's also a very pet friendly hotel. Love it!

Great hotel, easy location for so much. Avoids parking in a busy town.

All very good. Wonderful breakfast. Clean rooms. Pool (if you remember your swimming gear!). Half hour walk to the amazing historic centre… and not a bad walk.

Ok for a short stay

Not a bad location, roughly a 30-minute walk from the town centre of Dinan. Ample free parking. A large supermarket and other shops nearby. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice.

The room was small and it was quite noisy (not sound-proof) despite the fact that the hotel seemed rather empty, so we could hear doors banging and voices/televisions etc. Some staff members were pleasant, while other staff members were not overly helpful and a bit rude.

Would not book again

When I book this hotel by booking. Com I choose premium queen room which was included breakfast but when I arrived to the hotel they say it wasn’t so I had to pay again for 2 breakfast for 2 peoples which cost me €60 I try to contact booking .com but they denied it so I tell everyone to not only print your booking but the one you do online which is different them the booking form .

They never help me to contact booking .com Also the breakfast is too expensive and the dinner is not good you better go to the town is Dinan the bedroom was confortable and clean but not worth the money call the hotels direct for better value please be careful.

The location was good just off the main carriageway . Only 15 miles from St Malo or 20 minutes. Private location.

We only stayed for one night and we were late arriving. I can’t really comment on what needs improvement. The swimming pool looked ok but didn’t have time for a swim.

A good and convenient hotel

It’s very conveniently located near the motorway if you have a car. Lots of parking. Accommodating for our dog. Friendly and efficient staff. They were very quick to reply to us with any questions we had before arriving at the hotel. The bed was huge and very comfortable.

The restaurant was closed on Saturday evening for dinner.

Will definitely stay here again

All the staff were friendly and attentive. We were in the new part of the hotel and the bed was extremely comfortable. The food at diner was delicious. The location was ideal, on the edge of town for onward travel. Even though it was close to the main road it was qu8et.

We had to ask for milk for the coffee in our room, although no hardship, it seemed odd.

Extremely welcoming and comfortable hotel for bed and breakfast but I don't recommend the restaurant

Bedrooms and bathrooms exceptionally clean and comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the manager was very obviously present and keeping a friendly and amiable eye on proceedings. Breakfast buffet was really good and kept well replenished and tidy. Some local produce was offered which was very nice.

Dinner was seriously appalling. It is hard to believe that they were able to send out such dreadfully poor quality food, when everything else was so exemplary.

A completely enjoyable 15 hour stopover.

modern, clean, well laid out, excellent and free parking, very good food at dinner and breakfast. Although there were two coach parties in the hotel, we were not disturbed and in fact they were fed in a separate room at both meals.

Nothing, apart from the fact that Apple Maps had it in its previous position and so it took a bit of finding. The hotel relocated about three years ago. I have informed Apple Maps. Its position is correct on your site.

Disappointing - not all the fault of the hotel but would not make us return. Dinan itself was amazing!

We booked because of the swimming pool. Unfortunately there were issues and pool closed 2 out of 3 times we wanted to use it.

Location - no taxis available to take us back into town in the evenings for dinner and too far to walk.
