It’s very well located and the receptionist (Yvonne I think) was lovely.
The bottle of complimentary wine was a thoughtful touch (the hotel is surrounded by scaffolding at the moment) and the wine itself was gorgeous.
Good breakfast.
The messaging about the restaurant closing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays was lost unfortunately. One of the reasons to visit was to enjoy the menu (and wine!) but we made do in the village instead.

A quiet, charming hotel in the hills but close enough to enjoy Gengenbach. Staff was very friendly and the rooms were big enough. I liked all the natural wood features and the hotel was attached to a local winery that you could sample.
I wish the sauna was free and available to use in the evenings but it was 14 euros for 2 hours per person.

The hotel (comun areas) is nice, the rooms are commun.
The hotel is nice, but when they close the restaurant, the hotel seems deserted and you can't enjoy everything you see in the photos... It's useless that the hall and the common areas are very nice. If you arrive after mid-afternoon, there is no one! It looks like an abandoned hotel and it is difficult to contact someone to enter your room: I arrived at 7:30 PM in August and I stayed 1 hour until I got the key to the room: I had to rummage through the drawers and the list of guests that I was at the counter (privacy and security of personal data? a joke!) to get the keys. With no customers to arrive, the staff went home and did not forward any phone numbers to their mobile! I called all the possible telephone numbers (reservation, web, emails, etc) and they rang at the empty reception desk itself? ? what a lack of professionalism! The next morning and to try to apologize, they gave me a bottle of wine... the cheapest they had (€6)! which makes it even clearer that there is no intention to improve. if you are going to arrive after 5 PM, go to another hotel!
