Overall it was a pleasurable stay.

The hotel was quiet, the staff was very friendly and eager to help.

The rooms don't have a microwave and spending that kind of money on food in the city, you would like to be able to take leftovers and reheat if possible. We also had a corner room and the draft from the windows kept it very chilly. The parking should be included in the stay for the price of the room.

Wonderful!!

We stayed on the top floor that was recently remodeled. It was absolutely beautiful. The beds were comfortable. The view was amazing. All of the staff were very helpful and very kind. The hotel itself was beautiful and the bar was also very pretty. The sangria & food were also great. We had a wonderful stay and we highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hospitality. Comfy beds. Extremely clean, and walking distance to major attractions.

The breakfast was tasty with a decent amount of options and children’s menu. The avocado toast and fresh fruit was delicious.

The furnishings in the room are older and there is some wear and tear.

I unfortunately wouldn’t stay here again

Conveniently located and has friendly staff.

Room was very dated. Upon arrival, we noticed tub/shower didn’t drain and the sliding door to the bathroom was stuck and wouldn’t close. They sent an engineer up to fix both but it took him a long time to get the work done and they had to send housekeeping up to clean up the mess afterwards. The housekeeper complained and used so much clorox that it gave us headaches.

I liked the front entrance of the hotel, it smelled very nice upon entering.

The rooms feel outdated and would benefit from new beds and TV stands. The hallways on each floor had a musty odor, so it would help to extend the same fresh fragrance used in the entrance area throughout the building. In the entrance itself, the furniture and carpet need a thorough cleaning. Additionally, the gym requires updated workout equipment, and the vents should be cleaned to improve air circulation.

Open Your Pool!

Staff fantastic. Clean. Location great. Staff the best! View in one room superb!! View in second room disappointing.

Pool closed. Pool closed really affected our stay. Especially with pool closed, rooftop terrace should have been open later than 10:00. You locked the door to rooftop terrace at 10:00...way too early. Our first stay here was the best...this third stay was disappointing with poor view one room and no pool, early rooftop shutdown. Again, the staff was the best!!!

Great location and comfortable sleep, but aging facilities - I feel I paid too much for what I got

Excellent central location near the “Grand” red line station and walking distance to Riverwalk. Rooms were clean, sleep was comfortable, and curtains blocked light well. The rooftop offers a nice view of Chicago and is accessible during the day. The bellboy (Spiro) and the front-desk staff were nice.

The hotel's full name can be confusing - be sure to enter "North" in your GPS to avoid arriving at the wrong location (there's also "West"). Check-in was frustrating: although we arrived around 11 a.m. and agreed to pay the $40 early check-in fee, we were then told no rooms were available, which made the whole process feel pointless. The furniture in the room was visibly worn and dated, and several amenities weren’t working: the pool was closed (we were told it was due to a city council order), and the ice machine on our floor was out of order. Additionally, due to the hotel’s proximity to a fire station, siren noise was frequent, even during the night.

Wonderful stay!

The hotel is wonderful! We had a terrific time in Chicago. For sure It became much better because of Kate (front desk) and Spirol. They turned our trip more pleasant and enjoyable. Coffee and tee at the lobby everyday was a nice start for the day. Our room was so comfy and It was been well cleaned in our entire stay. We use the hotel bikes. They weren’t new but perfectly useful for one day. I truly recommend this hotel!

Everything was great in this proper hotel! It was clean and kept daily, beds were comfortable, excellent noise insulation, good A/C, well maintained room and facilities. Very centric!

Overrated - and just careless staff

Location and rooms are good.

Personnel were careless. There was a major dispute over whether breakfast was included. They sold it on Booking with breakfast and a daily bar credit, but on arrival we were told the credit was much lower and had to be used for breakfast — which wasn’t actually included in the room price as advertised. After escalating to the hotel manager, they acknowledged what could clearly be seen as deceptive advertising and offered unlimited service at the restaurant. The manager handled it well and fixed the situation, but before that I had to deal with two receptionists who were shamelessly careless, visibly annoyed, and repeatedly dismissive of my requests. Completely unexpected. Then, on the first morning at breakfast, the waiter handed us a menu covered in coffee stains. When I asked for a clean one, he actually complained, saying it was "just coffee." This, at a restaurant that’s already overcharging for everything. Also, the room phone didn’t work, so I couldn’t call the concierge. I told them the first night since I had to go downstairs in person just to ask for a pair of slippers. They said they would fix it — never happened. So prepare, in case you stay here, you might need to go up and down for basic things.
