The restaurant was nice and bar area was cosy.
The room was tiny and stuffy.

Corner room on upper floor was quiet. Bed was comfy and warm. Staff was friendly all over the hotel from front desk to restaurants to cleaning crew.
Room service was late but server was friendly. Wish the bathroom had a lit 10x mirror!

The atmosphere
It was very noisy outside but I guess the hotel can’t help that. Coffee pot didn’t work and remote needed to be fixed bit staff handled it immediately

Beautiful building in a very central location. Also a fantastic bar, which is worth visiting if staying nearby.
We arrived at 5pm after a long flight and were told our room wasn’t ready. We walked around for an hour and received no phone call. When we decided to go back and ask, the room was ready - they just didn’t bother to tell us. No apology.
Front desk then asked for payment immediately. I had provided card details already at the time of booking but they wanted physical payment. They wouldn’t take Apple Pay (?!), so I was forced to rummage through my luggage in the foyer while other guests waited to find a card.
Upon checkout I was told the payment hadn’t gone through, despite me showing evidence to the contrary via my banking app. They demanded that I make a second payment, insisting that the original would be refunded. Interestingly they were now somehow able to take payment from the original card they had on system, which they had previously told me I could not use.
This meant I was out of pocket several thousand dollars. It took a full month for the original payment to be reversed to my account.
The worst part is they were not at all apologetic about any of this. I understand these things can happen, but as this was no fault of my own I expected some basic level of courtesy.
If you want luxury and service, try the Langham or the Peninsula.
I won’t be returning to a Pendry property.

Location, comfortable bed
Very noisy, even on 21st floor. Traffic noise especially bad on our first night. Wardrobe in our room was awkward to access.

It’s a great location and they gave our boys a welcome penguin.
We couldn’t see the rooftop view bc our boys were 8 & 10 and it’s 21 and up. We would’ve loved to have a “free” family picture. The room service food was about a 5 (crudités, pasta and a chicken sandwich $150)
Only one side of the elevators went to our floor, spent a little time waiting.

The decor was beautiful and the room was large and comfortable. Location was perfect for what we needed for our trip. The gym was convenient and had decent amenities, but it was a little small and a view would have been nice.
The elevators were incredibly slow, which became a nuisance after one or two days. Our room was right next to a staff room, so it was often loud right outside - that was disappointing for the price we paid. Room service was efficient, but very expensive. We had a meal on the rooftop that was pretty mediocre, even though the view was beautiful.

Hotel was fantastic!! The staff? Exceptional! I will be going back in a heart beat.
Michigan Ave is quite noisy on Friday and Saturday evening. Not quite the Hotel's fault but it is a very busy area.

It’s in a fantastic location and easy to get to loads of other places within a short amount of time. The staff were very helpful and they have a fantastic concierge that knew everything and I’m very sure if he didn’t know it, it wasn’t worth knowing.

I had a beautiful, comfortable room that was very clean and had all the amenities I needed. Room service was quick and the fitness centre was well stocked.
Elevators could be slow at times.

The location was great. We had no issues walking almost everywhere. The building itself is incredibly beautiful with rich history. It was designed to look like a champagne bottle, and the top is even made out of real gold!
We feel mislead. This hotel certainly DID NOT feel like a two MICHELIN Key hotel.
1) "Included breakfast" is a lie. It's a breakfast "credit" we received of $60. According to my booking reservation, "Breakfast is included in the final price". No - it's not, you only get $60 and must pay beyond that. Our first breakfast (two cappuccinos, croissant egg sandwich, and pancakes) was $63. There goes our "included breakfast", after only one meal!
2) The hotel room was subpar for a "two MICHELIN Key" hotel. We originally booked a City King, but were offered a discounted upgrade to a tower suite, which we happily took. The room just had so many little issues. For instance:
- The front door would not close by itself, you had to really pull on it. And the bathroom door wouldn't latch at all. You could shut it, but the mechanism wouldn't engage (and you couldn't lock it).
- The closet light would intermittently not work, which was annoying because it contained the only full body mirror.
- The clothing steamer was on its last legs. There was metal debris within the water reservoir, and the steamer itself sounded like a helicopter when running.
- The bathroom light automatically turns off after a bit. So, while taking a shower, all of a sudden the lights turned off!
- A few other small things but not enough space here to write about.
3) House keeping turned on a 6am alarm TWICE on our alarm clock. We were sleeping and all of a sudden we get jump scared by a loud alarm clock! Easy mistake to happen, because all you have to do is press the button on the top once. After that I checked each night and saw they engaged the alarm once more. Good thing I caught it.
4) The elevators were horrendous. It appeared that only 1/3 were working. The lobby would get filled with people waiting up to 5 minutes or more.
In short, I don't believe these things are acceptable for a "two MICHELIN Key"...

Only the location
We had been there for two nights and we could not sleep at all. The constant noise from the street can be heard as if there were opened windows. Even more their condition itself was so noisy.

What didn’t we like about the property?! The building and all the amenities were beautiful. The cafe, restaurants, lounge, bars, all just perfect. The rooms were quiet and comfortable and oh so clean! The concierge, front desk and the valet were so welcoming and helpful! The complimentary car was the perfect added touch. We would 100% stay here again and recommend it to everyone. It’s located in the perfect spot and so close to everything! I could go on and on…
There’s nothing we didn’t like. Oh, the espresso machine in the room if I HaD to pick something haha.

Location
Not worth the money and not up to the Pendry brand (compared to DC, NY and Baltimore)

Location, style, food
Very noisy in downtown and being an old building, the walls and windows don’t give you much protection from the 24/7 buzz.

Great location at the foot of the Magnificent Mile. Amazing beautiful building. Up-scale property vibe with awesome scent, uber-friendly and helpful staff. Nice dining options - from lobby bar and rooftop cocktail lounge.
Elevators took just a bit too long as only a few go to the main set of floors (others go to only top floors and rooftop lounge). Upgrade suite was not as large as expected and separate seating area was small-ish. No bathtub in bathroom.
