Golden paddy bamboo house -by sunrise hill

This is one of those places you’ll never forget. That magical spark already begins to take hold of you on the journey to the hideout. The moment you leave the main road behind and turn onto the little route leading towards the bamboo house, it feels as though you’ve somehow wandered into a movie-like fantasy world. The rice fields seem greener than green, the landscape almost too beautiful to be real, and the people you pass along the way greet you with warm smiles and friendly nods. And then there is the place itself: your own private little sanctuary, hidden away in the middle of the rice fields. Surrounded by nothing but endless shades of green, you’ll find a beautiful, crystal-clear natural pool, continuously refreshed by fresh flowing water. The bamboo house feels both authentic and luxurious, while giving you a wonderful sense of privacy and safety. The open-air bathroom makes the experience even more special, with everything you could wish for (including a bathtub with warm water). And despite feeling wonderfully remote, you don’t have to give up on comfort: there’s electricity, a minibar/fridge and a fan.

The fact that there was a menu with all sorts of food to order was amazing. On hour order in advance is great to know. However, the food itself could be done better. The service was amazing; food is brought to the place on a nice plate and all. But the food itself was not fresh. We had the feeling that the burgers we ordered were ordered via another 3rd party and then put on a new plate, and then covered with some plastic to not get it to waste. In this process we received our food cold and dry (for fried stuff this is not really practical) For the rest everything was great!

The property was absolutely beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by lush rice fields and nature. The bamboo house was unique, cozy, and offered such a relaxing atmosphere. We especially loved waking up to the beautiful views and enjoying the tranquility of the place. The staff were also very kind and welcoming.

The location is a little secluded, so getting around can take some planning. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.

Nestled in the middle of the rice fields, the Golden Paddy Bamboo House was a great find. The building’s architecture is impressive and has everything to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area: a lovely pool, the sound of nature, and a hammock net to observe Mount Agung. After our continental and Indonesian breakfast, we ordered the Balinese massage at the property, which was one of the best ever. The excellent restaurants of Sidemen are about 15 minutes away by scooter or car.

Advice : the area is at around 350 meters above sea level so the temperature at night may be colder. Make sure you bring adapted pyjamas or ask the host for an extra blankets before going to bed. He is extremely helpful and can provide some.
