Hideout Eco Bamboo House Bali

A truly magical place. Unique organic architecture in the heart of the jungle. We had a bath in the outside bath tub at night, imagine sounds of crickets, the river, and fireflies... We also enjoyed the massage by Bunga &Rani very much.

What a gorgeous villa! Absolute must visit for unique hotels lovers. All the facilities and all the details are just stunning! Definitely come back again!

Speechless!! The beauty and peacefulness of Hideout is something we will never forget. 10 out of 10!! If you are in search for true Bali spirit Hideout is one of those special rare gems. Staying here was one of our trip highlights. The food and the staff were truly outstanding. Loving and accommodating they attended to our every need while in the midst of one of their most important holidays. The joy they transmitted is unmatched and something we will always carry with us. The units are all outdoors and each is wonderfully unique. There is something magical about Hideout and we hope to return someday. My stay at Hideout Eco Bamboo House Bali was truly unforgettable. The bamboo design, the river, and the surrounding jungle made it feel like I was living inside a tropical daydream. It’s peaceful, cosy, and beautifully crafted — the perfect escape from everything. One of the highlights was having a massage with a lovely lady called Bunga. She was incredible and made the whole experience even more relaxing and special. The staff were warm and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, and the whole place just felt magical. If you’re looking for a unique, nature-filled getaway, Hideout is absolutely worth it.

We had the Lightroom cabin, so most of my review will be related to this one, but also to the entire place as a resort. The location is out of this world, the property itself is fantastic, and the staff is very helpful with any issue or request. Indeed, this place is not for everyone, as you will most likely encounter some visitors, whether inside the cabin or outside/the shower area. However, if you can let go of the fear of having some insects, lizards, geckos, or the occasional frogs on the property, this place is a little heaven. The staff, as I already mentioned, was excellent. We were able to use a scooter free of charge (an almost new one), the food was consistently good and reasonably priced, and the communication was always prompt. We had the misfortune of experiencing an issue with ants in our cabin on the second night, but the staff promptly resolved it by relocating us to another cabin, at no additional charge. This was another example of professionalism.

The property is fantastic because of the things you may not like: it makes you feel like you're in the middle of the jungle, and this, for us, was both amazing and scary at times. It is not a bad thing in itself, but it is something you need to consider if you are really afraid of being exposed to the nature.

The remote location

Hideout Zen is near a road, so if you do not want to hear any cars or scooters, we suggest not booking this cabin at Hideout. We did not mind though…. :)

Beautiful bamboo house right by the river in the middle of the jungle. Just amazing. Even though it was raining all the time, we really enjoyed our stay there. And it was extremly clean even though it is open conecpt.

Absolute nothing!

Beautiful location

Disappointing experience despite a beautiful location We had been looking forward to our stay at Hideout Cocoon for months, but unfortunately, our night there did not go as hoped. Upon arrival, we were received in a very businesslike manner. There was no warm smile, no “welcome,” none of the Balinese hospitality we’ve come to know and love from other places. It felt impersonal and distant. The accommodation itself is beautiful, and the location in nature is unique. However, one thing immediately stood out: along the riverbank on the way to the hut, there was a lot of visible trash. It’s a shame that management does not seem to take action, especially considering Hideout’s eco-conscious image. To our disappointment, the jacuzzi was broken upon arrival, which is unacceptable at this price point. But the most disturbing issue was the deafening sound of large parts of the riverbank collapsing. This happened not just once, but six times, with such force that the entire room was shaking. After the first loud crash, I actually wanted to leave immediately, but the staff reassured us and told us not to worry. Unfortunately, later that night, the hut started shaking again due to even more massive chunks of land breaking off. It was genuinely frightening, and the sense of safety was completely gone. This was not normal jungle noise, it was an ongoing and serious erosion problem. The staff is very kind and warm, but the room service is poorly managed. Upon arrival, we ordered two coffees and pre-ordered our dinner, as requested. The coffees were delivered nearly 1 hour later — almost at the same time as the dinner. Then, at 9:30 PM, someone suddenly came by to collect the plates, even though they had already been taken away hours earlier. We were already in bed and were startled by the unexpected visit. The taxi they arranged for us to our next destination was also outrageously overpriced: 800,000 IDR, at least two to three times the normal rate for that distance.

Whole villa was amazing and high quality. The view and the heating pool was extraordinary. Food and drinks were so good.

The property was full of nature and surrounded by wildlife! The Hut was an awesome design and the water tub is a great addition to cool off. The staff were really friendly and helpful! A great place to visit for 1 or 2 nights.

I don’t know about all of the Huts but ours was directly off the road. Throughout the day and night we heard motorbikes, cars, beeping and people walking past. This slightly ruined the relaxing experience knowing that there were people just behind a thin fence. Also this made us feel less safe at night. There is no lock on the Hut and it is so open that it cannot be closed up. Being so close to the road we felt like anyone could walk through the very thin fence and enter the Hut. The bathroom was also facing the road and the walls had lots of gaps in them. People outside could see into the toilet and shower. When we arrived the welcome was great by the staff, however during the tour of the Hut, everything seemed to cost extra. The mini fridge, teas, coffee, everything was an extra cost. I would normally expect these items to be included for a luxury stay and the amount it was stressed ruined the welcome slightly.

The hosts are the most polite you'll ever meet and super helpful. The food is amazing, the houses are absolutely beautiful and the area is just stunning as well. We rented a bike and explored nearby attractions as a local guide was hard to come by due to rain. Prepare for everything being a bit more expensive this side of the island and grab/gojek not being available.

As this property is in the middle of the jungle, you'll live with some small critters like skinks, geckos and lots of frogs. It rained while we stayed so frogs were everywhere. The bathroom is outside, so sometimes you'll get a surprise. I would've liked if the inside area was a bit more secure from this, there are large openings between walls and ceiling and the mosquito net doesn't fully cover the bed.

i didnt like the hotel cause it has many mosquito and forgs and noisy insects,, its atrap so you cant save your self after you booking online and you found yourself in trouble

This was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The welcome was friendly and very good explanation about everything. Staff were friendly and helpful, going the extra mile to make our stay special. Massage ladies that came to our room carrying their tables, were the best we had in Bali, they were superb. The location was peaceful countryside. The bamboo house are interesting and exciting. Will definitely come again to experience this very special place and recommend to all. Thankyou for best stay.

Beautiful construction, a unique experience to stay in with lots of detailed craftsmanship. The garden was exceptional. It felt very secluded and peaceful. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly.

Further touches could be made to improve the experience, e.g. when tidying the room, refreshing soap dispenser / toilet paper / snack bar without having to request this each time. Staff were also very slow to clear up after meals even after we requested this. The staff need to be better with communication when arranging add ons / experiences. More than once we had to chase for confirmation on arrangements we had discussed prior. We were keen to do lots of the experiences offered but found it difficult/confusing when trying to purchase these. The WhatsApp function for contacting staff is very useful but did confuse things that were discussed in person, lost in the WhatsApp chat. We had 1 experience that didn’t get booked but the staff were quick to rearrange it for an hour later. The guided walk to the local waterfall with a member of staff was listed in your welcome pack but didn’t seem to exist when we discussed booking it, perhaps the welcome pack should be updated to prevent further confusion.

It is worth every penny. Beautiful stay. Very peaceful. Excellent staff and overall a memorable stay.

An incredible oasis!l The staff were extremely friendly and the aesthetic was out of this world. If you're looking for an escape in nature, it's a must go!

Unfortunately nothing

The property is unsafe to stay at. We tried to resolve this with the property manager but they told us they could not do anything about: insects in the bedding, broken mosquito net, broken bamboo flooring also very uncomfortable to stand on, unsealed walls and and poorly sealed windows, one of the windows was broken and could not be closed, plastic rubbish in the stream, one of the wasps in the room stung my wife, there are ants crawling all over the bed (on top of and beneath the sheets) and sugar sachets, you have to choose your breakfast the night before or you don’t get breakfast, the latest you can order food for dinner is 7pm or you miss out. I urge guests to check out Bambootel in Ubud instead, they spray for insects in the morning and night, very comfortable flat timber flooring, 24hr food service, free yoga and walking tours every day, free shuttle services, gorgeous bamboo villas, much friendlier staff, extremely clean rooms. We left the hideout Bali resort 5 minutes after getting there due to all their issues and they offered no resolution or refund at all. Just disgraceful, said it was all as per the photos but broken windows, flooring and insect netting are maintenance issues not shown on photos and not what you expect for the amount you pay. Please save your money and yourselves the hassle

Es ist ein wunderschöner Bungalow. Direkt im eigenen Garten ein Naturschwimmbecken vom Fluß gestaut und eine Hot Tub. Das Bad im Freien. Wirklich etwas besonderes. Wir mussten nach einer Nacht schon wieder weiter, aber es war ein Erlebnis. Das Essen wurde in die Hütte gebracht. Über WhatsApp bestellt.

Das Essen war teilweise nicht so gut. Sie machen Abwandlungen von klassischer indonesischer Küche. Leider nicht immer ganz gelungen. Aber hervorragende Nachspeisen und tolles Frühstück.

De lo poco que me gustó fué la ubicación y la construcción de la cabaña.

El trato no fue demasiado bueno, por el precio, y las impresionantes cabañas se espera profesionalidad y calidad, pero les falta y mucha, percibí mala educación y dejadez, mal asunto, por que efectivamente luego se reflejaba en la carente limpieza de la cabaña. Hemo estado en otros hoteles de este tipo en Bali y este ha sido el peor con diferencia, una verdadera lástima por que como he dicho las construcciones y la inversión que se ha hecho aquí no se merece a la gente que lo está llevando.
