Newark Town Centre Corporate Apartment by NXT

- Modern, done up to a high standard, a very enjoyable space to be in - Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in - Off street parking! - Very convenient location for Newark town centre - Hosts were very communicative on the chat - Extremely clean upon arrival I literally could not find a speck of dust - Not too hot in summer as the windows create an excellent breeze

- Odd lack of kitchen equipment. No toaster, no oven tray, no chopping board and a weird lack of cutlery (had an abundance of spoons but only 2 knives and forks). No hairdryer either - Internet is nigh on unusable - signal is far too weak for anything to connect and when it does it's slow, had problems streaming on the TV. There's also pretty poor mobile signal in the flat. If the building is all working off the same router then this flat is too far away - a booster is needed or its own connection - Check out is listed 11am-12pm but I had a cleaner knocking on the door at 11:15. The checkout time needs to be edited to 11am latest. These two are more nitpicks... - I found a bottle of ice water and ice cubes in the freezer. Unsure if the hosts had left this for me as it was due to be hot or if this was left from a previous stay. - Lockbox has a knack to it when getting the key out, I struggled for a few mins!

The key box was easy to locate and the code was given the day before arrival so had in advance. Having free parking at the property was brilliant and very easy. The property is in an excellent easy location, a short walk into the town. The bed was very comfy and the shower was brilliant. Excellent communication through booking.com. We would definately stay again.

The comments I am going to make were communicated during our stay and had quick and positive responses. The original contact details given to contact during the stay were for someone who didn't work for the company anymore. There wasn't a hairdryer, toaster, full length mirror, bread knife or bottle opener - when I messaged to inform them that these were basic requirements for a rental property, they advised they had ordered them after my messsage and were arriving after I left. The internet is intermittant - not suitable for anyone wanting to work remotely. Occasionally we couldn't watch the TV as it wouldnt stream - the signal wasn't strong enough. My signal wasn't strong enough to use my data from my phone. I advised them to get a booster or a different supplier. They said they were going to get someone to look at this and get a booster. Very happy with communication.

If parking is still free, I would definitely stay here again as it was perfect for what I needed. The flat was clean and well presented, with most things you need for cooking, cleaning etc.

More clarity prior to my stay would've been helpful as there was some conflicting information around parking and then with which lock box the keys were in, so I had a lot of trouble accessing the keys and had to try all key boxes and still was unable to open (in one message they were in the left hand box, and in the next message it was a different box so I was getting quite confused). Luckily someone who happened to be there (possibly the cleaner of the apartment) was outside at the front of the building waiting for a taxi, who assisted me to open the lock box. At first I thought I'd been scammed due to the conflicting information a few days before around parking and had already had to call customer services about the parking situation which was then rectified (It was advertised with free parking but then was told it was paid so had to phone prior to sort out). All ok in the end but it was unnecessary stress this caused after a long journey, adding a good half hour-40 mins onto my check in time. It would be helpful to have a local support contact to assist if needed in future; perhaps the cleaner could be paid a little more to do this? When I phoned the local support contact number the person said they no longer worked for the company which then had me phoning the police to assist entry as there was no one around to help! Thankfully it wasn't a scam but trust had been lost a little prior to getting there a few days before due to the parking debacle. it was not a great start to my stay. I left a tip to say thanks the person who eventually assisted me who happened to be outside luckily, as I was so stressed and couldn't access it at first. I think I could do it next time as there's a knack to the lock box. Hopefully a new local support contact has been added now and parking is still free which makes it an attractive option for revisiting.
