A very old quirky building. Very different to any of our other stays and we loved it there. Great WiFi and great place to generally stay. I’m 6’4 and had to duck for some of the low ceilings but that’s just the great character and charm of the place.
The host was really great and helpful also.
Only downside was the property was cold. Due to how old the building is. But don’t let that deter you from staying just bring a few blankets and you’ll be fine. The bedding there is really warm so once you’re in bed you don’t feel the cold.

It was fantastic. Bed was really comfortable. The sitting room was lovely and had a cosy feel about it . The kitchen was spotless, and I thought, what a nice touch with the coffee tea bags and sugar. And the host was a really nice bloke. Yes, 10 out of 10.
Nothing, really. Just a little bit cold in the bathroom. But to be expected this time of year. But it's 10 out of 10 from me. And I think my very good lady friend would mark it high as she'd like to go back again in the summertime.

We were met at the front door and explained everything. That was good chat)
Overall building is historical, so no expectation to have indoor conditions fresh. Heaters were in each room - that was helpful. Very hot water in shower - so you can warm body up)
Overall musty smell around the apartment.

Quirky house with literally a secret garden. Great location with some amenities around, clean and tidy with plenty of space. Rob was a lively host! Thank you :)

It was quite quant, comfortable and clean, but stale cigarette smell throughout spoilt it.
The whole flat smelled of stale cigarettes, I think the smell came through the floor and left the flat with a horrible smell.

I cannot fault the friendliness of Robert, the owner, who met us at the door, showed us round and brought extra towels, which we didn’t need but was a kind gesture. The property was very spacious, the decor was quirky and the beds and sofas were comfortable. There was lots of hot water in the bathroom.
The parking, in the road round the corner, was very difficult to find a space, and quite a faff. Although there was was lots of hot water in the bathroom, the hot tap in the kitchen didn’t work, so we had to boil a kettle to wash up (this was mentioned in another review on here so should be fixed) The beds had heavy fluffy comforters on, far too hot for summer, cotton sheets would be better. The following are needed in the kitchen: sharp knives (the only knife was a bread knife), oven gloves, tin opener, bottle opener, peeler, coffee pot. Both toasted sandwich makers were broken or unusable.

We did not stay at the property - we had trouble finding it as there was no number to indicate the correct address. Front door was dirty and had cobwebs everywhere. We were early and sat in the car for an hour checking out the neighbourhood which frightened us off. There was no parking although it was indicated on the site. There was 1 street opposite of free parking and no spots came available while we were there. We felt very unsafe and didn’t know where to leave the car as we were concerned it wouldn’t be there when we returned next day. Many Young men loitering by the property in groups. We advised the owner we didn’t think it suitable without going into great detail- just said the stairs would not be suitable and requested a refund which he denied. Wouldn’t recommend at all to anyone
Everything, unkempt, no suitable parking , concerns about safety

A nice place, slightly quirky in layout which makes it a more interesting experience. Came with a lounge and a fairly well equipped kitchen.
The owner communicated in advance and accommodated our request to drop-off our bags before check-in time.
It was a fairly comfortable stay but the mattress wasn’t the best.
Location is about ten minutes walk from the Newark Northgate railway station and only a minute walk from the town centre central market place. 2x Nearby corner shops and plenty of eateries within walking distance.
The tea/coffee mugs. Although they are quirky, the shape of the lip faces inside rather than outside - making them hard to drink from. Windows at the front, facing the street were a bit thin.

Great location, quirky property with a style of decor of its own. Lo
vely garden. Very comfortable beds.
Rather cold property despite having very warm weather during our stay. However, this may have been due to the apartment having been unoccupied for some time. Had to put heaters on to take chill off apartment once sun had set.
Also, there was no hot water in the kitchen despite running tap for several minutes, yet there was hot water in the bathroom.

location, quiet apartment
decor dated and tatty, nothing to do with the host but people sat outside across the road taking drugs and drunk was a little off putting.

Fab location. Just a 5 minute stroll to the Palace Theatre.
Robert met us on arrival and gave us a thorough tour of the lovely property.

It was very quirky and I loved the crocked cottage feel. Plenty of space for the pair of us and was just what we needed. Rob was lovely too. Very welcoming and pleasant.
Wasn’t really anything we didn’t like! Great spot.

Quirky and homely. Lovely bath and shower. The hosts are lovely. Very very clean.
Sometimes there was no lighting up from the garden it would be on at odd times. For us it wasn’t a problem but would suggest either putting it on at nightfall or warning guests. Am aware there’s a warning of up and down but even the entrance hall we felt did not have adequate lighting at consecutive times. But we may also not have noted certain switches. Some times it was dangerous on the steps. But we were fine and we enjoyed our stay. Well we actually loved our stay and would book again.

Was a beautiful old building. Loved the decor. Garden outside was amazing and will definitely return in summer to see It in full splendour. House was central and close to everything we needed. Rob was very accommodating and accessible.
Bit cold but the weather was freezing outside and the building is old. This would not put me off returning

It was quirky and interesting, the outside area was great you could sit out and stay dry, Rob was very accommodating and let us drop our belongings in the apartment earlier than check in time, we were grateful as we were attending a wedding and would be back late and slightly sozzled.
The lights in the garden area, I couldn’t find a switch so we had to sit in darkness so we couldn’t fully appreciate the aesthetic

The garden was nice and the flat had character. Right in the centre of town, which was great for us. Pretty much all we needed for a short stay, host was also welcoming.
Some hand soap in the bathroom, extra toilet rolls would have been nice. The decor was quite busy, not great if you have sensory challenges.

What an amazing place. A uniquely decorated apartment on multiple levels in a converted 450 year old coach house. Rob's a friendly and welcoming host. On entering and walking though the secret garden you can't help pick up on the love that Rob has put into his place!
We had the front apartment and the pub across the road had rather load music playing until 1am on a Thursday night. Not sure if that was a one-off.
