The location was one of the better aspects of the stay. It’s close to the town center, train station, and a few supermarkets, which made getting around pretty easy. Parking was also straightforward, and the lockbox instructions were clear, so at least check-in was simple.

A number of things went wrong during my stay. When I first walked into the property, there was an alarm going off, which I quickly realised was coming from the flat I had booked. I tried calling and texting the local contact number I was given, but got no response at all, his phone was actually turned off for my entire stay. I ended up finding a building management number on-site, and they told me the kitchen fire alarm was going off because it was faulty. They advised me to contact the host, but that obviously wasn’t possible since no one was answering. Another issue was that the flat was actually unlocked when I arrived, which didn’t feel great from a security point of view. The cleanliness also didn’t match the advertised 8.8 rating, it was okay, but definitely not to that standard. The bed looked like it had been made in a rush, and the pillows were really poor quality, just two thin, cheap pillows that weren’t comfortable at all. On top of that, there was no hot water on the second day. Normally I would have reached out to the host to sort it, but again, their phone was still off, so there was no way to get help.
