We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay in the apartment and we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the apartment for a week whilst we were visiting a sick friend nearby and, coincidentally, we found we were also near to come other friends so we were also able to spend time with them! The apartment is only a 3-minute walk from the U16 strassenbahn station Siegstrasse. Communication prior to our stay was very helpful and clear via WhatsApp. The owner met us on arrival to give us the keys; she was very friendly and pleasant and could speak good English which was useful because my German is not very good! The first-floor apartment is very light and airy; it is sparsely but comfortably furnished with some lovely, older, stressed-wood furniture and there is a good-sized balcony where it is lovely to sit in the evenings to enjoy a glass of wine or beer. During the day, the apartment got warm and it was nice to be able to open the door to the balcony to cool the room. The building is located on the corner of a quiet, residential road and there is very little traffic; there is a Lidl within 5 minutes' walk and more shops within a further 5 minute walk. The Rhein river is only a 1km walk away, and there are some great restaurants and bars there. The lounge is equipped with a large sofa-bed (we only used it as a sofa but it was very comfortable); a good-sized TV on which you can sign-in to any of your streaming accounts; and a good-sized table on which I set up my home office. There is a good-sized bedroom with a huge double bed which is both warm and comfortable and we slept well; there are 2 good-sized wardrobes and a shelving unit so no problem with storage. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking implements so is ideal for self catering; cutlery and crockery (including probably the biggest coffee mugs in Germany!); typical electrical goods such as toaster, microwave, kettle, dishwasher, washing machine and a large fridge / freezer.

We only had 2 minor issues with the flat which we have reported to the owners and they may well have fixed them by now: 1. The rainforest shower provided water at a rate faster than the drain in the shower could cope with and after about 2 minutes, some water started to overflow onto the bath mat. This was solved by switching to the handheld head for a minute which allowed the water to drain and then back to the rainforest head. The owners advised they would check the drainage but I don't think this was the problem, I think it's just that the rainforest shower is so powerful - which is great! 2. The second issue is that the WiFi router was physically situated in another apartment so the signal was adequate in the lounge but tended to disconnect from devices in the bedroom. Also, sometimes Netflix was slow to buffer. The owners have said they will be installing a separate router into the apartment, so that should sort out this problem.

Bright, spacious and well equipped apartment. Newly decorated and spotlessly clean. Great location - easy walk to the river, and good access to the trams to the city. On quiet residential road, with secure parking.

We have suggested a simple guide to how to use the equipment - and bed slats need slight fixing - otherwise facilities would be a 10 too.
