It’s a lovely villa in romantic environment - in the middle of the mountain, with a small garden surrounded by the woods.
1. If you don’t have a car - the location is not easy to reach. Quite far away from the center. Be ready for the uphill climbing all the time.
2. The house was very very cold and required committed heating.
3. The house is rather old and requires serious maintenance.
4. You will find nothing in the house - no tea, no coffee, no cleaner. Everything has to be brought by yourself.

We took two taxis, one had a hard time locating the villa. The keys were there in the lockbox, entry was easy. The onsens were amazing and definitely the highlight of the stay. The great room was also nice to keep the family together even while doing different things.
The kitchen was large but basic and the pots and pans were not good - very beaten up. No toaster oven or anything to bake in, microwave only, and 2-burner stove made it a little challenging to cook for a larger group, which is important given that there are not many restaurants nearby. I would encourage the host to buy a large toaster oven or air fryer/multicooker. Can really change the experience for just $100-200.

The view was incredible and made us feel like we were surrounded by nature. So much space with the 3 bedrooms + the tatami room with futons. After staying in the city, it was the perfect place to take a deep breath. Very enjoyable for the whole group.
Some of the wall paper/accents were in need of repair (some cracks/holes in the wall paper on the stairs) and the door to one of the outdoor baths was difficult to close/open all the way, but nothing that took away from the experience.

Huge villa, nice rooms, clean, nice kitchen, fantastic for our big group of 6 adults, 2 Onsens in-house is great!!
We couldn't get hot water from the taps, but managed with the hot water from the Onsens.
