Mixed feelings

We liked that the apartment is close to the main town and surrounded by several local convenience stores, which was helpful for last-minute shopping. The beds were comfortable, and the apartment was reasonably clean compared to other places we have stayed. However, there was only one drinking glass available, so we had to share or use cups for juice. Overall, the kitchen facilities need improvement, and more basic essentials should be provided. We really loved the natural light in the living room, and the fake fireplace was the highlight of our stay.

Here is a list of things we found frustrating during our stay: The lift to the 2nd floor was not working, so we had to go up to the 3rd floor and then carry our suitcases down the stairs. We stayed for four nights from 23 December, and this was inconvenient. Parking was hit and miss. We asked the Figos restaurant guys for guidance on where and when it is best to park. The apartment itself is quite dated and needs significant attention and refurbishment. Kitchen facilities were very limited. As a family of five, we had to buy our own serving dishes and extra pots. The largest pot was only suitable for cooking for about two people. There were several broken items, including the curtain rail in the main bedroom and damage to the snooker table. Decorative pieces were falling off when walking past. I took photos of each issue and sent them to Azurestays, who manages the property. They only said they would inform Airbnb. On Christmas Day, there was a lot of noise from the street and downstairs that continued until 5am which kept us awake. I understand this is outside the owner’s control, but it is worth mentioning. The water tank in the ensuite toilet continuously overflows, which makes constant noise day and night. It sounds like the toilet is being flushed non-stop. It was extremely annoying at first, although we became used to it by the second day. Finally, the keys were very frustrating to use. It often took a long time to unlock the door for some reason. There was a day we nearly gave up as it wouldnt lock but we had to go out so we kept going for about 10mins until it worked.

Although £153 was a little bit overpriced for two people, I think if there were two couples or a family renting the apar

It was nice and spacious with two lovely balconies and a 50” TV with a great selection of channels. I found it nice and easy to mirror onto the TV screen from my iPad as there was a strong and decent Wi-Fi plus the artificial fire was also a nice touch that heats the room nicely with a hot air fan. The whole place was quite clean but bizarrely the duvet covers were all extremely creased which being a hotelier myself I found sloppy and just means that the owners don’t want to spend the money using a linen company so they should at least try to iron the covers themselves. The fridge and the kitchen in general was all nice and clean but the only letdown was there was no corkscrew although that could be due to the no alcohol on the premises policy which I found a bit intrusive because there’s nothing wrong with wanting a glass of wine when you’re unwinding.

One of the showers had very low water pressure and the toilet flush was inadequate. Bizarrely the washing machine had a full load of bed sheets left in the drum and the curtain rail in the double bedroom was held on by two screws making it crooked and about to fall off the wall. The place in general needs some work doing to it, a lick of paint and a few minor repairs would make all the difference and wouldn’t be expensive. The lift button for the second floor didn’t work which meant getting the lift to the third floor and then having to walk down to the second floor. The keys to the front door were hard work and you had to jiggle them to work and it was also the same with the inside front door to the apartment itself.

Really nice home away from home with amazing facilities and so clean

The apartment was really spacious, the beds were really comfortable, the fireplace with the different coloured lights was a beautiful touch, but as a family we really enjoyed the pool/ping pong table it was great fun The bread addiction was amazing, a co-op and a Tesco Express within walking distance, the balcony and outdoor furniture was really nice too

Pooltafel en grote TV scherm. Heel veel zenders, maar BBC 1,2,3, niet kunnen vinden

Parkeren achter gebouw, wijk, entree erg shabby, badkamer, douche algemene afwerking muren vloer.. gordijnen hingen er op half zeven bij. Balkon deur drama om open te krijgen
