Great location, cozy apartment with useful facilities

Location was good, away from the busy streets. The host has made some efforts for comfort with nice quality crockery and cutlery, a blanket on the sofa for if it gets a bit chilly. The apartment was small - as are most apartments in the UK. Living in North America we have to adjust our expectations of UK properties, and most UK residents would likely say it was a good size. We did not feel cramped which is good. A washing machine was available for use in the bathroom which was very handy, and cleaning products, including washing powder in the form of tide pods, were provided.

The host had left a welcome leaflet saying they provided coffee and milk for the guests - there was ground coffee in packages I guess other people had used but no coffee maker or even a French press to make coffee in, and there was no milk in the fridge. The shower and toilet are absolutely pathetic - if they are 'energy saving' then it's an oxymoron - you have to flush the toilet at least 3 times to get the paper to go down and the shower water comes out so slowly you spend longer in there especially after washing your hair. The welcome leaflet said not to dry clothes on hangers but to use the drier - but there's no drier in the apartment. We did small loads, hung them on the towel warmer on hangers, kept the window open and the door closed so there was no moisture in the bathroom. A 'How to' use the washing machine would have been helpful, the first wash I did took more than two hours. There was a TV available with limited channels, a channel list would have been helpful. We were staying on the first floor, there is an apartment above and the sound proofing is atrocious - you can hear the people above talking - luckily for us the people above were not in all day but we could hear them in the morning and in the evening.

Great stay in very lovely apartments!

The flats were very well decorated / comfortable & clean, especially the top floor one. Also, not too far from all the highlights of Southsea. Parking permits were provided by the host for the 2 flats we rented and we were able to park in the next street for all 3 days.

The top floor flat shower could do with a new shower head, as it was a bit of an eratic spray. The basement flat doesn't have much sound proofing from the flat above which was disturbing day and night.

It was fit for purpose but could have been better,

It was a brilliant size with lots of room for the group, the decor was cute & tied in with the sea theme too!

There were a few parts which weren’t quite right, the bed in the 2nd bedroom had a broken panel under it which moved frequently & caused a lot of noise and discomfort. There were bulbs missing in the bathroom which made it quite dark when trying to use the facilities. The pull out sofa in the living room had missing parts, so we weren’t able to use this as a back up bed when the upstairs one was an issue. Overall the property was good & we weren’t in there a lot due to being out & about, but the sleeping arrangements could have been a lot better.

Home from home with all the comfort and convenience - a perfect place to stay.

A great place to stay and very well appointed. Each level was a fabulous surprise - 2 bedrooms on the top floor which were very comfortable and spacious. Middle level has a large kitchen dining room with everything you could ever wish for, it also has a great sized lounge with 3 sofa's (one of which is a sofa bed). Next level down is the door to the apartment and a place to hang coats etc. From street level you go up a steep set of stairs to reach the main front door (you do need to be happy with lots of stairs!). We were so grateful for all the parking information and visitor parking permits, this took any stress out of the stay. At the end of the road was shops - mini supermarkets and takeaway's, including fish and chips! Waitrose was a very short walk away too. We really did feel like we were at home with all the comforts. I would definitely love to stay here again.

The building has 3 apartments, the photos for each apartment were not clear which they belonged to as they seem to all be put together. It would be lovely to know exactly which photos match which apartment. Unfortunately the blind in the front bedroom is broken and needs fixing - hopefully an easy thing to replace, but was needed as the street light is very bright at night.

Worst we've encountered in 15 years

Front room was nice. Bed was comfy.

Immediate damp smell on entering. Mouldy ceiling, bath seals and grout, mouldy entrance door. Mouldy bread in kitchen cupboard along with various condiments over a year out of date. Although they have painted over mould in bathroom its very evident, and most of the flat smells of it, opening the bathroom cabinet is weird as it stinks but no visible mould. Huge mirror sliding doors to wardrobe are not held in properly and scared us 1st night when 1 suddenly fell out of its track, luckily fell backwards in to wardrobe & not onto us in bed. I booked as I liked the nice looking terrace to sit out, but didn't sit out as it was rusty metal chairs with a garden of foot high weeds.

Amazing Location with Great Facilties

We visited Southsea for Victorious Festival. The property was in a great location and it was perfect for a long weekend. Good facilities. Parking permits were also included which were great

Could hear the other residents upstairs moving about quite a lot, but that didn’t spoil our stay

Property is self contained and a good location. Very well stocked with kitchen utensils and cleaning things. Also loads of loo rolls.

Black mould around bath, shower screen seal at the bottom needs a good clean or replacing. Also grouting around bath tiles and shower was orange, needs a good scrub. Very slow draining bath/shower.

Not for asthmatic

The flat is very well located in Southsea, close to the seafront but also to bus stops. Supermarket is 500m away, same for bars and restaurants. You also have everything needed to Cook in the kitchen

The flat is located in the basement of the building. It is thus VERY moist and humid, with this caracteristic smell. Be careful as well as the pictures displayed on Booking are from different flats, thus it can be confusing. Finally, the communication with the owner was very bad. I sent several messages on Booking without any answer.

The apartment was clean, spacious, comfortable and great location. Bathroom has shower & bath which was great with kids, kitchen is well equipped.

Great location for weekend in Portsmouth!

Apartment was in a great location, within walking distance to everything. It was clean, well decorated and very homely. Everything that you needed was provided including washing facilities, microwave and hairdryer.

Couple of downsides were the lack of parking (not the hosts fault), the radiator in the bathroom was always on and we couldnt figure out how to turn it off. Plus a few of the slats on the beds were broken.

Very good

Location was perfect, just a 10 minute walk to the seafront. As we were travelling to attend Victorious Festival it was a quick walk to and from the festival location. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with a lovely garden area outside. Bathtub aswell was a bonus! Also lots of corner shops 2 minute walk away.

There was unfortunately no hand soap for the bathroom, but we made do using the body wash that was provided, along with shampoo and conditioner.
