Wow

This beautiful home is clearly so loved and cared for, I am still stunned by it and heartbroken we only stayed there for one night! The hostess was so amazing and kind, the breakfast was gorgeous, the bedroom and the shower- just stunning! I felt so pampered, honestly I'll do my hardest to be returning here and pretend that I live there even just for one night.. 😂❤️

Gorgeous stay

The house was gorgeous - very well decorated with a beautiful garden and comfy rooms. Melissa was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast setup was perfect. Close to lots of bars and restaurants and only a 15 minute walk to the coast. Highly recommend.

Charming host and a great place to stay if catching a ferry.

conveniently close to the ferry port. Very welcoming host and comfortable, clean accommodation. Loved the decor of the house. Informal breakfast arrangement and tea or coffee available at any time.

Hadn't realized we would be sharing a bathroom but it did not prove to be a problem as there were alternative facilities in the house.

Your home away from home.

The hostess was amazing. She took the time to walk us through everything we needed to know about the house and the expectations in regard to breakfast. We didn't have to be at the table at a specific time, she let us work with our schedule. Everything was so perfect for what we needed. We walked a few blocks for supper and found the area very safe and quiet. Not many people walking at 9pm at night. We were a 15 min walk to the water. Her pride of ownership with her house was obvious. She made us feel like family. We would definitely come back if we go back to Portsmouth

We did have to share a bathroom with a couple other people which I'm not used to. However this was not really a big deal.

House number doesn't seem to be on the welcome email or booking details but was given when I requested it on the day of arrival. Towel size could have been bigger for even more luxury.

A great stay in Melissa's house

Everything. There was nothing to find fault with. Melissa welcomed us into her beautiful home and gave us recommendations of places to go, where to eat and about the local area. The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and had everything needed, the garden was beautiful. Melissa provided everything for a great breakfast, nothing was too much trouble. We were met on check in, shown where to park and given a tour of the areas we were able to access. All in all, a fabulous stay and we'll definitely be going back.

Comfortable and welcoming.

This is a lovely place to stay. It is an older property in a great location with a variety of places to eat or have a drink nearby. And don't forget the garden...we had a touch of garden envy! The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated with quality bedding. The host was welcoming and friendly and provided us with a plentiful, tasty breakfast. Parking was on the street but there seemed to no shortage of spaces. Melissa provides a temporary parking permit for you.

Perfect short break.

My daughter and I had a delightful short stay at the beautiful Green House. From Melissa's warm and friendly welcome, we knew we were in for a real treat. The entire stay didn't fail to impress. We loved the gorgeous gardens we had access to during our stay - as a fellow horticulturalist I could really appreciate the lovingly created green oasis in a characterful suburban backdrop. The interior continued the exquisite attention to detail - creative,original and plenty to admire. Our 'Lady Yasmine' room was a joy to stay in; beautifully furnished and containing so many thoughtful touches. The bed was so comfortable and everywhere was exceptionally clean. We also loved the luxurious bathroom which continued the exceptional cleanliness and quirky decor. Our breakfast in the welcoming, comfortable kitchen was a real treat and plentiful. As someone who needs to follow a gluten free diet for health reasons,Melissa took the trouble to find the most flavoursome gluten - free bread; thank you. In short, a fabulously relaxing and perfect stay.😊

This is the most incredible house, a green oasis that instantly makes you feel at home. Melanie and her family were the most wonderful hosts and I can’t thank them enough for making our stay my dad’s 60th birthday one to remember. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality! A very pleasant room with good host

Good location. Host very welcoming. Room was very clean and a good breakfast provided. Would stay here again. Despite it being a very hot day, the room was pleasantly cool. A good fan was available in the room . Which was a bonus on a very hot evening

A beautiful and peaceful house with excellent transport connections to central Portsmouth.

The house was just beautiful and also very homely. It was very quiet - I didn't hear other guests or any noises outside from my room. There were excellent, regular bus connections even on a Sunday night. The breakfast was great.

The house was in a nice quiet street. However, the main street a few blocks away was quite rowdy and I'm not sure I'd like to hang around there for too long!

Everything ! The house was stunning - a beautifully curated and eclectic mix of decor and plants (so many gorgeous plants!). Incredibly, given the sheer amount of ‘stuff’ in evidence it was all scrupulously clean - a testament to our wonderful host, Melissa who welcomed us into her lovely home. Breakfast was simple but delicious, helping ourselves in the spacious kitchen where we were pleased to have the opportunity to chat to another guest - an interesting and relaxing interlude.

Fantastic short stay with wonderful host.

Ideal location for Channel Islands ferry. Very easy to find and with off road parking. Stunning period house with beautiful gardens, which you can sit out in. A wonderfully friendly host, Melissa, who is very welcoming, thoughtful and takes care of your every need. Very spacious and comfy room with separate huge bathroom. All the little extras were provided. Amazing selection for self serve breakfast and warm freshly baked croissants were a real treat. Would definitely recommend and will use again in the future.

A totally wonderful stay from start to finish.

Everything. We were able to park right outside, in the city centre. The whole experience was better than a West End 5-star hotel. Melissa is wonderful and from the moment we entered the gate until we left we kept finding little things that delighted us. Melissa has put so much effort into making this an outstanding B and B, and completely succeeded.

The host was lovely and it was like being at home and helping ourselves to bits and pieces in the fridge and sitting down at the big kitchen table chatting to other guests was perfect.

Off-street parking would have been nice, but the host was able to offer the parking permit vouchers at no extra cost which was a lovely touch and really appreciated.
