Stunning Bishop Auckland House with 5-bedrooms & 8 Beds Sleeps 12 with Free Parking by PureStay

This house was exceptional, had everything we needed and more. I particularly liked that there were lots of pillows and blankets on very comfortable beds. Would 100% book again.

Nothing it was perfect

All the bedrooms were of a good size with comfy beds.

Needs a bigger dining table, for a 12 bed property it could only seat 8 to 10 The same with the number of chairs in the lounge. The cooker extractor hood needs raising 4 to 6 inches, lost count of the number of times I banged my head on it.

It was centeral to the town and near to all the shops and eateries, the house was good and bed comfortable

The only things they need to change is the rubbise bins, think they need to black bins as when we got there the bin was full. So we had trouble getting rid of our rubbish

The parking was ok. The rooms and the beds were ok. Space for 8 adults in the bedroom and landing ok.

The place was run down. There were a host of things we reported to PureStay who manage the property. These issues were annoying and could have been easily sorted before we stayed there. The main bathroom door did not lock, the bottom toilet light was out so at night you ended up fumbling about as there was not other light to help compensate for the lack of light. The dishwasher didn't work and is too small to handle the number of guests. The dinner plates provided at the property didn't fit the dish washer and were very heavy. The breakfast table barely accommodates 6 people and was squashed into a side section of the kitchen which made it very awkward for people to get a place to sit, get to the toilet or go outside. The chair combination used at the breakfast table was very cumbersome. A bench was type seat was used for 3 people seating either side of the table which tips if you sit on the edge of the seat and others stand up. We had a few near misses of people landing on the floor one of which was a 74 year old. The kitchen didn't feel thought through. It had a glass counter top that constantly dripped water on the floor and you regularly had wet clothing from leaning against the counter when preparing food or doing the washing up. There were no extra black bags for the trash or brooms to even try and clean up the place. The bottom bedroom was meant to have a sliding door which we discovered did not work. On the day we arrived the temperatures made the whole house stuffy especially that bedroom as no fresh air could get to it. The whole house probably be best for 6 people not more. The steps outside the kitchen are just waiting for an accident to happen. Not impressed especially what I paid for it and what I have gotten for that price else where. The Management company did offer to send through a handyman 2 days into our 5 day stay but we were were not able to accommodate them.
