Unbox at Poplar Tree

We stayed for a weekend as a couple and had such a peaceful and relaxing time. The lodge is very private, quiet and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. If you enjoy walking, you can easily walk into Durham city centre, which we really liked. The host was absolutely fantastic — incredibly attentive, everything was explained very clearly, and he made sure every little detail was taken care of. We felt very well looked after throughout our stay.

Unique, gorgeous, hidden little gem, definitely recommend

James greeted us on arrival to show us around the property, and it was clear straight away that we'd found exactly the right spot for a relaxing birthday weekend. Tucked away in the peaceful Durham countryside, yet only a short drive from the city centre, it struck the perfect balance between quiet escape and easy access to everything we wanted to see. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, and every facility we needed was right there - nothing was missing, and nothing felt like an afterthought. It was the ideal setting to relax, unwind, and properly celebrate.
