Memorable stay. Almost cancelled our drive to Edinburgh. Definitely staying here next time.

This is a beautiful villa that's tastefully and elegantly decorated. The hosts demonstrated impeccable attention to detail - the kitchenware, the beddings, the toiletries, the cupboard, everything was just perfect. We felt as if we were invited into a friend's own home, rather than a homestay.

Felt like a magical Christmas

The property was absolutely fantastic. Stayed over the Christmas period and they had set up a real Christmas tree and decorated it for us. Location was perfect, extremely close to Durham and hidden away so was very quiet. Staff were incredible, coming over during our stay and offered to clean the entire apartment, we were contacted beforehand so they don’t just turn up so felt very comfortable. Amazing stay highly recommend

Nice house for a short stay

Lots of noise from the apartment above throughout day and night. Incredibly loud. Boiler was very hit and miss. Freezing all day when arrived, and also stopped working on the Sunday morning so couldn’t shower.

A classy appartment that needs some TLC, in a quiet spot, great for exploring the town on foot.

This is a beautiful and tastefully remodelled apartment in a lovely old house in a peaceful location. It is very close to town if you like walking, which we do. A back gate leads to a path down to the rear of St. Hild & St. Bede College, then down to the river. Walking into town is easy if you are steady on your feet. Walk along the lovely riverside right into the city centre without crossing roads of any consequence. Durham is stunningly scenic!

The cloakroom toilet cistern was overflowing into the loo and we had to remove the lid and press the blue button to stop it. The dishwasher didn't work. The TV entertainment setup was a mess of wires and difficult to understand but it did work in the end for Netflix. The crockery was a little short-stocked.

Never again

Not a lot really, it wasn't the place I'd originally booked. The location wasn't too bad, a bit further out than I thought.

The staff were very hard to get hold of, I had issues with the property and nobody came out even though they said that they would, broken fitting and fixtures, poor to basic equipment too. I wouldn't stay here nor would I stay in any of their other properties.

Lovely property, noise from upstairs unwelcome but would definitely rebook.

Beautifully designed and decorated spacious property . Ideal for family let.

Lack of correspondence on location and lock box code. Rather difficult to locate. Met friends of management company on drive who asked a family member to forward these details and allow us entry to accommodation. Footfall noise from upstairs apartment was rather annoying, obviously wooden floors and not soundproofed.

Would not hesitate to book again

Very well appointed, lovely and comfortable and close to the city centre, all you could ask for, and if there are 3 or 4 of you a really credible and viable alternative to a hotel.

It was not a problem for us but the TV reception was poor, could of either been the storms or us just not being familiar with the controls. There were 5 remote controls under the TV a simple 'user guide' explaining each of them within the instructions folder may help other guests in the future.

Stunning large luxury apartment

Stunning apartment so close to the city centre. Biggest apartment I’ve ever stayed in when working away from home and so many beautiful features like the real fire place and whisky table!! Quiet location with free parking and you can even see squirrels playing! Definitely 5* luxury and can’t wait to return.
