York Fields Retreat - 4 Ensuite Bedrooms

The location is lovely, a quiet area but close enough to York for shops, station etc. its great that each bedroom has an ensuite and the open plan living/dining area is nice and spacious. The house has a lovely modern feel with a large outside area and there is space at the front for a couple of cars.

2 of the toilet seats were broken and the grass outside was very long - it had clearly not been cut for weeks! I messaged the host and he replied quickly offering to source a plumber for the toilet seats and said it had been too wet to cut the grass. The disappointing thing is on another site someone else had flagged the same issue weeks ago and was told the same yet nothing has been done to correct the issues. It was a hot weekend so it was a shame the garden was not tidy. There was a loose plug socket next to the bed in the downstairs bedroom which could be dangerous and some of the furniture in the lounge area is not very sturdy and has probably seen better days. Some parts of the home were a bit dusty in particular the blinds and skirting boards - they could benefit with better cleaning.

Great location, 10 mins in uber to York Centre. Lovely and quiet area.

All of the beds seems to be missing slats or having random slats on the bed resulting in a few having rubbish nights sleep.

Stunning stay! The house was perfect for what we needed. The bedrooms were stunning. All facilities were great. The open space was perfect for enjoying family time.

During rush hour the drive time got longer but with the views we had in the property, we really didn’t mind.

Size of the property was great & location was fabulous

The house smelt very clean on entering, but the kitchen utensils were dirty as was the bin lid, the cupboard doors and chopping board, the bedding was crumpled and didn’t feel, look or smell fresh. There was hair and a tiny insect in one bed. The shower in one of the downstairs bedrooms, flooded the whole ensuite each time it was used and nearly reached the bedroom. That room smelt very musty too. No hand soap in any of the en-suites.
