Amazing Hostel with a Great and Quiet Location

The location is farther from the popular tourist party areas: very quiet (my preference) and closer to more authentic Thai food (also my preference) and southern beaches, but the hostel still felt social. The view from the public balcony was amazing. The numerous bathroom/showers/sinks were nice. AC and fans were good, good bed curtains. Basic breakfast/espresso was convenient. Very kind owners and staff. They rent a few scooters too. Incredible map mural!

There were decent hooks in shower areas to hang my towel/clothes/toiletry bag, but sometimes too close to the showerhead. I also prefer hooks in the rooms and bathrooms as well.

Really nice chill hostel, great value for money

I really liked this little hostel! The vibe was fairly chill, which was exactly what I was looking for. The staff were all really friendly. Other guests were respectful. It wasn't a party hostel but other guests were up for chatting and socialising a bit. The shared dorm room (8-person) was quiet and clean. The location is further away from Sairee beach so it's more chill, but there's still plenty of restaurants/cafes within very short walking distance. I hired a moped from a place nearby so it was very easy for me to get around, otherwise it's about a 20-30 minute walk into the main town. The breakfast was fairly simple, but it was free so who can complain! Toast, butter, jam, mixed fruit and eggs, plus coffee/tea etc. Excellent value for money, would definitely stay here again!

The only thing I can think of is that there is quite a steep staircase between floors 2 and 3. Sometimes I felt a bit nervous coming down them, so it would be good if there was a handrail. But this is only a soft complaint!

Great place to stay if looking for somewhere quiet.

A really nice hostel. Clean, friendly staff, located outside of the main area of Koh Tao but still had plenty of restaurants and things nearby. Other guests were quiet and respectful in the dormitory. An acceptable breakfast to get you going. Not a party hostel. Probably best to have a scooter if staying here.

Comfortable stay with helpful services

The hotel was comfortable and convenient. Although it was not very close to the main beach, the location was still practical and easy to manage. The hotel offers laundry service for an extra fee and provides assistance with tours. There are several restaurants nearby, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Best place in Koh Tao

After having been in several places in Koh Tao, I finally came back to Closca since I considered it´s the best place for me to stay for the rest of my time on the island. The common area on the first floor has such an environment that it makes it easy to meet people, which makes this hostel a perfect choice for solo travelers —although it has a floor with private rooms that seemed to be quite comfortable as well. You have a great breakfast included during the morning, which gives the hostel a plus above all other ones I visited.

Perfect place for a long stay full of adventure

The staff are amazing and were always incredibly friendly and helpful. The facilities were always clean and the rooms were cleaned multiple times a week. The location was a massive plus as it felt close to most of the places on the island.

I absolutely loved the rooftop, THE CLEANLINESS perfect the wifi was very fast, the location was absolutely perfect everything was well maintenez and our room were cleaned every day also the laundry service very fast and again perfect

The stairs are very very steep The flush kept stopping to work in our room The shower drain should be more close to the water or we should have something to bring the water there because then the shower stays wet all day but we still have to go to the bathroom or access the sink Also the bed was TERRIBLE really really hard and you could feel every piece of metal But even with all of the above I would recommend it

Very clean, chilled hostel with helpful staff and a nice quite area to relax in.

The beds are super hard, even for Thailand and I had some pain from this, though the staff were happy to provide extra blankets which helped a lot. Better to take your laundry to somewhere else as some of mine was lost & shrunken and they couldn't really do anything.

With a scooter is easy to go everywhere

Its very clean, enough bathrooms and showers. They also have iced water for refill. Breakfast is basic toast and coffee or tea with some fruits. Staff are nice and helpful.

The bed makes noise when people going up and down or turn around in bed. The location is a bit far from the pier.

Very well run hostel with relaxed vibe but lack of social scene due to location.

Everything was super clean and the bathrooms (separate to the rooms, thankfully) were well maintained. The simple breakfast of fruit, hot drinks and toast was the perfect start to the day. The beds were comfy; there were charging sockets, personal lights and privacy curtains; and the A/C was good. All round very relaxed vibe and enjoyed my time there!

The location doesn't lend itself for a massively social experience as it is a long way from the main hub of Sairee Beach (45 min walk) and a shorter 20 min walk to Mae Haad - the secondary hub. Of course, it helps to rent a bike to get around (which you can from the hostel) but the hostel isn't greatly social. As such, there are no events and few amenities for socialising (although there is a nice balcony with leather bean bags but they get rather sweaty). There is a rather unpleasant smell of foul water (that you can smell in many places on the island) surrounding the hostel at times but I'm sure there is little the hostel can do about this.

Comfortable, relaxed and friendly

It has been the best hostel I’ve stayed in all South East Asia. Staff are super friendly, helpful and make a very comfortable atmosphere in the hostel. The location is great if you like a tranquil area to relax and have a chilled time. There are a few restaurants just in front and minimarkets available. If I never come back to Koh Tao I will definitely come back to Closca hostel.

Beautiful, chilled stay.

I loved my stay here. Closca Hostel is run by a lovely couple and is located in the local village, about 15 mins walk from the pier and the southern beach. It's quiet, super chilled and very clean. Everyone staying was lovely (age range was mid 20s to mid 30s, no drunken or disrespectful shenanigans thankfully), and I made really good friends. I'd love to come back.

C’est un super hostel avec des propriétaires et le personnel hyper accueillants et souriants! Le petit déjeuner est très bien, c’est tout ce qu’il faut ! Les dortoirs de 4 personnes sont très bien agencés !

La porte de la salle de bain dans mon dortoir de 4 faisait un bruit pas possible à la fermeture, c’est embêtant la nuit pour pas réveiller tout le monde, mais je pense que ça peut s’arranger :) L’emplacement n’est pas parfait mais on peut marcher facilement jusqu’au centre en 20 min, et à la plage en 10 minutes

Byl to skvělý pobyt.

Tento hostel byl prostě wau, měli jsme privat room pro dva a bylo to čisté a postel byla neuvěřitelně pohodlná. Každý den láhev vody na osobu + v na recepci nonstop voda z barelu. V pokoji i pracovní stolek. Personál je velmi přátelský a nápomocný. Snídaně byla skromná, ale naprosto stačila. Strategická poloha v dostatečně klidné oblasti, ale zároveň blízko všeho. Za 60THB vám dámy udělají latté.

Odhlučnění neexistuje, v noci nás budili lidé co šli do vyšších pater. Největší slabostí privat room byla bezesporu koupelna, nechápu kdo tu místnost navrhoval. :D Umyvadlo je do výšky prsou, sprcha je dělaná tak, že vlastně sprchový kout není, pokropíte vodou vše wc, umyvadlo, dveře, navíc koupelna nemá řádně udělaný spád, takže kolem wc se shromažďuje kaluž vody, která neodteče ani nevyschne (prosím dejte do koupelny, alespoň stěrku na podlahu). Přitom pokoj je dělaný tak, že je u koupelny obrovský prostor. V klidu mohla být koupelna dostatečně velká aby tam byl klasický menší sprchový kout.

El mejor hostel de Koh tao

Hostel tranquilo, con muy buena vibra, sobre todo destacar a los propietarios por la buena energía que transmiten. Las chicas que trabajan son super agradables y el hostel está siempre limpio. Es un hostel donde vas a estar genial para tu estancia en Koh tao.

Lo único que puedo decir es que los colchones son algo duro para mí gusto.
