I love this place

Very beautiful place to stay. The staff is super nice and helps you if you need anything. The location is perfect of you wants some calm in the jungle and close to everything. They even manage to get you a bike deliver at the hotel with good prices. They come pick you up from the pier, and have a transfer arrange also at the end of the trip. I recommand!

Happy Guests

The room, location, and staff were all great. We got the apartment and it was pretty huge and well appointed. It felt far enough off the main drag to be quiet, but walking distance from several beaches and the pier. The staff was very helpful and always smiling, and the complimentary two way shuttle helped us out a lot. The property also has lots of very cool birds and nice jungle views-- we even saw a flying fox (or something like it).

This was easily the most beautiful accommodation of our entire journey! The resort is exceptionally clean and maintains a very high standard. We stayed in a villa with a kitchenette, and a standout feature was that the electricity stays on 24/7—meaning the fridge stays cold and devices can be charged while you're out. The staff were extraordinarily friendly and helpful; the ferry pickup and on-site scooter rental were seamless. A huge bonus is their cooperation with Chalok Divers (who are absolutely fantastic and professional!), providing discounts on Open Water and Advanced courses. Also, ignore older reviews about the pool—it was clean, inviting, and in great condition during our stay. For nature lovers: watch the fruit bats in the large tree next to the Family Villa at night!

The only "negative" was that we had to move to a different accommodation entirely for one night because the resort was completely booked out. This was 100% my own fault for not booking early enough! My advice to everyone: Book as early as possible so you don’t have to leave this beautiful place even for a day.

Lovely an comfortable stay

Very nice surroundings and pool. Room was comfy and spacious, cleaned everyday ! The diving center was awesome and gave discounts to guests. Staff was kind and flexible

Walk from room to pool is quite long and uphill. Our friends had issues with the AC and th lock of the window, but we were ok. Lots of agressive mosquitos outside , be prepared !

Lovely stay in a clean and comfortable room

We loved our stay here - so many things to love about this place! Everywhere is super clean (bedroom, bathroom and pool area), the staff are lovely and helpful, you get fresh water every day. The location is in the quieter part of the island and near some great restaurants in walking distance. The grounds are immaculate and they have a dive team on site so you can try diving for free if you haven’t before which is such a nice touch! We loved having a balcony and were so thankful for a comfy bed / pillows.

Really hard to think of anything we didn’t like - only things to note is that, the properties and reception are up a short hill. But had a motorbike so wasn’t a problem but just something to look out for.

5⭐ Review: Woodlawn Villas Resort – Koh Tao

From the moment we arrived at Woodlawn Villas, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality by Sunny and the wonderful team – complete with refreshing welcome drinks. We booked a garden villa for ourselves and a room in the main building for our kids. The villa was originally equipped for two, but the staff quickly provided extra kitchenware so our whole family could enjoy it together – without even needing to ask twice! Every detail was taken care of with thoughtfulness. Laundry was easily handled at reception, billed to our room, and returned smelling absolutely heavenly. We also rented scooters directly from the resort – again, seamlessly charged to our account. So convenient! One of the most touching moments was when we asked if they happened to have a specific building block game. To our surprise, they went all the way into town to buy one and surprised us with it! That level of care and kindness is rare. The free shuttle service to and from the pier, beaches, and town made getting around effortless. The swimming pool was fantastic – peaceful, clean, and shaded by umbrellas – and the staff always eager to help with anything we needed. Each morning, we woke to the soothing sound of birdsong in the tranquil surroundings – it truly felt like paradise. And on the day we left, I was brought to tears by a beautiful thank-you card and a handcrafted shell necklace gifted by reception. Such a meaningful gesture! Our stay at Woodlawn Villas was filled with unforgettable family moments, heartfelt kindness, and unmatched hospitality. Thank you, Woodlawn, for making our time on Koh Tao so magical. We will absolutely be back soon!

Great hotel with lovely staff

We had a really lovely stay here. Khun and the team were incredibly helpful and quick to respond to anything we needed. Our room was a great size, with a comfy bed and a shower that actually had decent water pressure (which we’ve found can be rare when travelling!). The pool was also a great. Big, clean, and perfect for relaxing. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was considerably the nicest accommodation we have had in Thailand. The room was clean, spacious, and the resort was an amazing retreat. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The pool area was relaxing and well-maintained. Location was quiet and peaceful, just a short ride from all beaches and local restaurants.

Very nice and calm getaway with pool

Sunny the hotel manager checked everything we needed and really made us feel welcome. The pool and the area are nice and very clean - away from the busy main road but still central. The bed was very comfortable. Fresh drinking water was provided everyday.

A bit pricy

Very nice pool with great surrounding. The owner has chats with clients and makes people feel welcome.The view into the jungle is great. Squirrels and other animals can be seen from the room.

We booked an appartment featuring a doublebed and a sofa bed because we have two kids. AFTER booking it we were told that the sofa be can only be used if we pay 500 Bhat per night! Shower tiles had quite a bit of mould. Sofa (for sitting) was uncomfortable as ist was very narrow. There are too many signs forbidding stuff: do ‚t walk on the grass, if you break a water bottle ypu need to pay, shower before sitting the your bed, … I get that there need to be rules bit it doesn‘t feel welcoming.

Comfortable stay at Woodlawn

We had a comfortable stay at Woodlawn, where we had an apartment with a small kitchen. Kitchen was basic but had everything we needed to have simple breakfast with our small son. Apartment was spacious and beds comfortable. I would recommend renting a motorbike when you stay here. Walking is doable but everything is so much more comfortable with a motorbike

Unfortunately pool was under maintenance so couldn’t be used, but should be in perfect condition now.

the way up to the resort is really really bad. very dangerous going there by scooter. fell with our bike once because is is really too sandy and bumpy.
