Scary House

This price is reasonable considering the rising hotel prices. It's a little far from the city center, but the location is not bad as it's in a quiet residential area.

Even when it was time to check in, we had trouble because the way to get into the room was not shared with us. As soon as you enter, you can smell a peculiar smell and see unused garbage bags in the kitchen area. When I was shown to the room, there was a single bed and another bed that was smaller than a single bed. One was hard and the other was too soft. I could smell house dust throughout my stay and my nose was constantly itchy. The room was also cold and not very comfortable. What's worse, there was a lot of detergent and soap in the bathroom, but all of it was diluted with water, making the hygiene environment very poor. Also, the landlord started cleaning the bathroom around 2am, and when I knocked because I wanted to use it, he loudly shouted "Who's that!!!" and then opened the door, but he glared at me with a demonic look on her face. He was only kind when he first introduced me to the room, after that he became more aggressive than a stranger.

This could not be described as charming. Looked almost derelict from outside; rubbish at back, dead plants in plants by front door. Had not expected a shared bathroom with filthy mop in corner.Cracked pane of glass, sellotaped, in our room.

Great value for money

The house is clean and cosy, situated in a clean, quiet and safe neighbourhood. The room was also clean, the bed was comfortable. The lady of the house is very kind, welcoming and helpful. She is not intrusive, she doesn't bother you, she just lets you mind your business. I really enjoyed staying at her property and it was definitely good value for money. Some reviews stated that the kitchen was full of stuff and so on. But let's not forget this is not a hotel, it's someone's home and they can arrange their home as they see fit. Plus when you're on holiday you don't spend a long time inside, much less cooking. To me the important things in any form of accommodation are: a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. That's what I needed and that's what I got. But other people have different expectations and if they are not met, they get frustrated. My advice to them is: book a room only after you've read the description carefully. Make an informed decision.

Delayed Check-In Info

We agreed upon check-in at 11am via the Booking request system, but did not receive instructions until hours later. I don't think this place is a lost hope, but I hope that this can be improved for others, even if it's just a sending of basic instructions upon confirmation.

Not very welcoming or prepared

The location was good.

The host was nice but didn't seem very welcoming and also didn't give a tour to explain where we were okay to go. It felt like our private room wasn't prepared for customers to stay. The wardrobe in our room still had some of the hosts belongings, the carpet wasn't clean, and the kitchen was cluttered.

Cluttered Room with no garden view & a cluttered kitchen

Location was good

Despite booking for 2 nights we were put in Room B which was full of clutter. It was clearly someone's bedroom. Our room did NOT have the advertised garden view (SEE PHOTO). The mattresses were very soft too. ROOM A looked a lot nicer. Kitchen was almost unusable. Worksurfaces were full of clutter with kitchen rubbish left tied up in the middle of the floor. All cockery and pans needed a good clean.

It is very dirty place

Unfortunately, my room did not have a lock, and I did not feel safe there. The cleanliness was also terrible—there was a lot of dust and hair from other guests. Fortunately, the heating in the room worked well, and it was warm. However, I still do not recommend this place, as there is a huge difference between the advertised photos and reality. The host was very friendly, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place.

Bardzo miła obsługa, zaraz po przyjeździe zostaliśmy poczęstowani kawą i herbatą, kontakt z właścicielką pokoi był szybki i bezproblemowy

Kuchnia była dość zagracona a na blaty nie do końca czyste, jedliśmy głównie na mieście, więc ten aspekt nie miał dużego wpływu na ogólną ocenę

Wat een ramp!!

Zeer gedateerde kamer.

Zeer vieze badkamer, niet goed schoongemaakt. Allemaal ‘spulletjes’ in de badkamer. Noooit meer!!! Snachts ging telkens het alarm af om het half uur. Zijn uiteindelijk van ellende om 5 uur sochtends vertrokken de stad in. Hierdoor hebben we alle punten uit de stad voor 9 uur kunnen bekijken en foto’s gemaakt zonder mensen. Dat was dan weer wel een voordeel!

Sale et vétuste

L emplacement vraiment top avec un bus pas très loin pr le centre dans un quartier agréable à l architecte typique , un grand parc...cafés resto petits magasins ...top top ...la possibilité de se garer dans la propriété ...la réactivité au téléphone de la propriétaire ( nous ne trouvions pas la clef pour entrer ) ... Le prix pour Edimbourg pas trop cher mais dans ces conditions cela ne les vaut quand même pas ...

Le manque de propreté total , la vétusté , le manque de goût : poussière...tâches sur le papier pain ( decollé par endroit ) et les rideaux , carreau chambre cassé, un lit qui est en fait un lit d appoint ( pas large et pas très stable pour un adulte) , salle de bain au carrelage abimé au sol , encombrement de la salle de bain et de la cuisine par des produits et de la vaisselle ( sale...) , moquette au sol partout ( tachée et sale) , odeurs douteuses , linge de lit inconfortable et laid ... SALLE de Bain PARTAGÉE ( pr j' ajoute toujours dans filtre SDB privative ...) Remarque : nous avons choisi cette chambre malgré commentaires car plus de place ailleurs ou alors prix démentiel...Conseil : réserver pour l Ecosse bien avant ... Malgré la cuisine nous avons mangé dehors car trop sale .... Pourtant avec des travaux et entretien : potentiel Énorme donc dommage

Het was smerig. Tevens een soort klap bed waar je je niet op kon bewegen anders viel je eruit. Overal prulletjes en schoonmaak spullen waarschijnlijk zelden gebruikt. Het stonk naar wierook en vocht. Nooooooit meer

La chambre possède deux lits dont un ne mesure que 70cms de largeur, une honte La moquette est tachée à plusieurs endroits Une vitre de fenêtre est cassée depuis longtemps Toiles d araignée Poussière importante sur rideaux Pas de bouilloire, pas de tasses Salle de bain partagée avec une autre chambre et proprietaire très encombrée, a l hygiene douteuse Honteux surtout lorsque la proprietaire vous fait dechausser pour ne pas salir Un tel bien ne peut dignement être mis a la location
