Dean and Paul are wonderful hosts and made our stay at the Birchwood extremely comfortable. They also helped us navigate our upcoming trip through inclement weather. The hotel itself is lovely and very thoughtfully constructed. Will definitely stay here next time in Pitlochry.

We had a lovely 1 night stay at Saorsa on Friday night. The room was lovely, airy and comfortable. It was great not having a TV in the room, the Bluetooth speaker was enough all that you needed. We booked the 5 course taster menu and was not disappointed, every course was well presented and tasted amazing as did the cocktails at the bar. The 2 course breakfast was also great and very filling for the whole day. This is a place that we will definitely go back to when up in the Pitlochry area again, room, food, drinks and staff all great. Thank you for a lovely stay.

An absolute pleasure! It may say it is a “plant-based hotel” but wether you are a vegan, vegetarian or just like vegetables once and a while, you should really go!!! They are so friendly - the hotel has so much charm - the staff are super helpful and sweet - and the food is so well made!!! This is not your average, boring, “concept hotel, but a hotel with passion!

The property is beautiful with several lovely outdoor spots and close to town. Our room was comfy and quiet and we enjoyed the bar and breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Great stay. Our room was large and cozy, with a comfortable bed. Great room amenities and tasty breakfast. However, we were a bit disappointed because we had booked and prepaid the 5-course tasting menu for diner at the hotel restaurant, which was canceled by the hotel, without any communication to us.

We had a fantastic stay at Soarsa 1875. Everything from start to finish was brilliant. A very friendly welcome, excellent cocktails and the food was delicious. It's a great location for walks in the surrounding area and close to the shops in Pitlochr too. We will definitely be staying again!

We were initially excited to arrive at the hotel, but our enthusiasm quickly faded when the owner responded abruptly upon hearing about our dinner cancellation at Saorsa. She then informed us that “we wouldn’t find anything worthwhile in town”. Unfortunately, her attitude persisted throughout our two nights. Regrettably our overall experience was disappointing as she didn’t even offer a simple good morning or farewell.

Super nice stay at Saorsa in Killiekrankie in an old beautiful house. Decorated in a more modern style than the facade. Served delicious vegan food, which we really enjoyed trying and helped us plan our hiking trip!

We really enjoyed our stay at Saorsa 1875. The facility was very cute and well put together. Grounds were pleasant and fun to explore. Pitlochry itself is a short walk away. Breakfast was generous and delicious. We weren’t a fan of the smell of the soap provided and the room itself would benefit greatly from some additional ventilation, my suggestion would be to install a bathroom fan to vent some of the steam during/after a shower. Overall, I would recommend staying at Saorsa 1875. The place is beautiful and the staff is friendly.

We had a wondeful overnight stay at Saorsa in the Pine Marten room. The room was a good size, well presented and very clean. The beds were really comfy and the duvets were cosy. The hotel decor is fun and colourful and the weather was good so we were able to make use of the firepit area, woodland trail and hanging chairs to relax in and read. The breakfast was incredible and had lots of options including granolas with berries and seeds etc, yoghurt, baked biscuits, croissants (amazing), fresh fruit, toast with jam, peanut butter and chocolate spread, fresh juice plus home made ginger shots. The staff were all so friendly and attentive and brought over hot drinks quickly plus offered the choice of porridge, tofu scramble or baked beans. It was my first time staying at a fully vegan hotel so it was lovely to not have to worry about what food would be suitable. My travel companion is not vegan but really enjoyed the breakfast too. It was lovely having access to the lounge/bar area as a comfy area to sit, relax and read some quirkly books. The location is ideal as it is easy enough to walk into Pitlochry plus you can walk to the riverside and some other local trails too. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back.
