The building has old world charm and that ends the positive aspects. This has got to be one of the worst hotels we have ever visited. The rooms are tired, the ac noisy beyond words and did not lower the temperature one bit. Cheap towels and so so cleaning. The breakfast was a very sad affair but you did get fed. But the thing that really sat the bar att the lowest was the staff. I have never ever met such rude, sarcastic and unfriendly staff before. The Hotel is riddled with signs of what you can’t do or can’t ask for down to a Sign telling you have many cups of coffee you can have for breakfast. (Three is the number…) The does it utmost to enforce every aspect of the prohibitions (the favourite word is NO) and overall seems to hate their jobs and the hotel guests. Do yourself a favor, avoid this hotel at all costs!

Amenities not as described. No laundry and no airport shuttle. Those were the two we were concerned about as we have mobility problems and were needing laundry to wash clothes for our cruise after our stay in grado .although there also was no restaurant or room service etc .At checkout were told that room taxes were to be paid in cash. Told my husband “another surprise “. Really shame on me for not reading the fine print. But the older clerk asked what other surprises so I mentioned no laundry and no shuttle. She denied that the hotel listed those. When I showed her she retracted and said we could have put our clothes on the bed and they would have washed but not ironed them lol okay well we never asked about ironing. She then told us that she could have given us the phone number for a taxi. Viola the shuttle. Lol you know how that’s the same. 270 euros for a taxi versus shared cost of a shuttle. She (the older of the clerks) told me to go back where I came from and stay there. OMG. She was quite the treat my brother couldn’t believe it as he had come to help us get our luggage to the bus station which was 2km away He definitely felt he had dodged a bullet as he chose to stay at a different hotel for his month stay at grado. Oh yes another thing don’t think that you are allowed guests at the hotel. That story for another time

Thumbs up for: amazing location, pool, staff, breakfast, minibar fridge, balcony, good size rooms. Thumbs down for: very out dated design, tiny shower cubicle! Useless for adults, over used beds, no parking and no visible access for cars.

Great place, Grado was unknown to us. Found the hotel on hotels.com. The hotel could use some modernization, but had a great atmosphere and service.
