Splendid Hotel Lac d'Annecy - Handwritten Collection

Fantastic location being walkable to restaurants, cafes, all the gorgeous sights and the train station. We stayed in a ‘Deluxe room, with lakeside terrace’ - the room was spacious with a comfy bed, good sized bathroom with toiletries and plenty of storage in the bathroom. We loved sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine in the late afternoon watching the world go by below. We had a coffee pod machine and non alcoholic mini bar stocked daily which was a great bonus. Another bonus was the filtered water dispenser on our floor (1st) I’m not sure if there was one on every floor. There was a Monoprix supermarket just around the corner which was handy for supplies. The only negative could be that it was a little noisy having a major road just outside the terrace. It didn’t bother us however this could be a problem if you’re a light sleeper. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in a basic room looking over the back. Front facing rooms are premium and overlook the lake. Room was ok. Cleaned every day and Nespresso coffee machine was a bonus. The mattress protector was poor and caused issues sleeping on a night. I can’t comment on food as we did not eat in the restaurant but drinks in the bar were fine and reasonable price.

I really love this hotel and the breakfast was really good. I got breakfast delivered to my room in the morning for €24 you get quite large portions. When I got scrambled eggs, it was an entire bowl of scrambled eggs! Plus a yogurt, an entire bowl of cut fruit, a cappuccino and 3/4 of a full size baguette. The breakfast downstairs is even better. The hotel is clean and nice and the staff is very attentive. There is coffee and tea in your room with a Nespresso machine. There is also a hot water kettle and a refrigerator. There is a good gelato place just next-door that is also a café with many kinds of drinks and milkshakes. This is literally right in front of the park that leads up to the lake and it was a five minute walk to get to the boats for lake tours etc. It’s also right in the old town so you’re also very close to the historical sites to visit. Lots of restaurants nearby. I recommend Vif. The pets are very comfortable and have nice linens. I think the only downside is my room didn’t have slippers or a robe, but apparently you could ask for them at the front desk, but I didn’t know that. There is a fitness center and a sauna, but I didn’t have time to attend either because I was so busy doing other things. Lobby has free fruit water and granita machine (slushies). This is a great hotel. I will return in the future
