8 / 10Excellent·Jul 2026
As the name says, the hotel entrance is from the courtyard behind a shop on one of Annecy's main streets leading to the old town and lakeside and a short walk from the rail and bus station. Much attention has been paid to appearance, from the modern reception and imaginative decor to the smart staff uniform. Rooms and bathrooms are of ample size but could benefit from more storage (shelves and hooks, notably.) One source of irritation was that the room had not been serviced by mid-afternoon - adding to the suspicion that the management paid more attention to appearance than service. A pity, since the staff were individually very pleasant.
A good continental breakfast is served in the elegant restaurant which serves as an upmarket brasserie in the evening.
