The communication was not very constructive. The stay was ok. The breakfast was nice.

The auberge is nicely located and has parking spaces if you arrive by car. The included breakfast was nice and the restaurant has a nice terrace with a view on the beautiful lac de Annecy.

The communication with the auberge was very complicated and it took many mails (time and effort) to be sure that someone will open the door for me and let me in if I arrive later than the normal check-in time. Although I booked the place with the question if it would be possible to arrive a bit later. The staff that replied back via mail was not very constructive and helpful. After back and forth I called the Auberge and someone from the Auberge told me that there is a security guard who can open me the door!

Pretty normal hostel, nice views.

Breakfast was nice! Location was amazing. After a slight miscommunication on my part the staff were super friendly. Relaxed vibes. I crashed for one night and it was perfect for me. Good value for money.

The sockets in the room were kinda out of the wall but they still worked and when I stripped the bed in the morning I noticed they weren't super clean. But if you're only here for one night I don't think it's too much of an issue.

Great for the price

Staff were very nice. The views were absolutely amazing from the hotel.

The bathroom doesnt have any sinks. You have to go back to your room for one but they didnt have any soap there either. Also there is a BIG hill to get up if you are walking - just a heads up for anyone without a car.

Nice staff but I wouldn't stay here again.

Breakfast was a cup of coffee, a crossant and a white bread roll with jam. I wouldn't describe it as 'good. I am petite and was hungry afterwards. Most electric sockets were broken. Only one working socket in my dorm. The dining room only had one socket so couldn't charge my phone there either. I suggest a plug in power board so everyone has a chance to charge electric items. Lights in bed pods also broken. Showers were cold, the button was broken so it had to be held in for the duration for the water to come, and there was mold on the walls. The staff were lovely and friendly.

The room was very small with four beds, washing sinks and shower crammed into a small space. The shower was the worst part, stinking from urine - a real turn-off.

Wouldn’t return

Beautiful view overlooking the town, although a big walk up and down to get to the hostel

Located on top of a very steep hill. No privacy in the beds in the dorms. Only two power sockets in the dorm of 4 people, situated near the taps. No wifi. No phone coverage/internet. Quite disappointing for the cost per night. Other guests where also quite loud thought out my stay.

Lovely youth hostel!

Really liked the place. Beautiful views, very comfortable hostel and super nice staff. The breakfast was simple but had ALL you might need.

The location is a bit tricky. Buses cut early in the afternoon and getting there by walk take some effort (really stiff hills)

It's up quite a few steep hills that there is no public transport to so be prepared to walk up hills with luggage. Room was boiling at night really need some fans/air con. Room was a bit dirty, marks and hairs but nothing awful. Shower was very poor and no shower gel

Beware of the false advertisement: there is no private bathroom

I didn't like anything. I was especially disappointed by the lack of private bathroom, which was supposed to be present according to the advertised services.

This accomodation provided a false description on booking.com. It stated that family rooms with shower and private bathroom are available, but this is not the case: indeed all the rooms have no private toilet and only a shower. The toilet is shared in a corridor outside the room. The men's toilet lacks proper hygiene as there is no washing basin for washing your hands. One shared toilet did not have the toilet seat and another one could not be locked. Furthermore there are no towels: if you want them you have to buy them. The shower in the room had a bad, sewer-like, smell. The washing basin in the room and the shower had a button to open the water, but the water did not keep on running once you pressed the button: you had to keep the button continuously pressed, which meant that you were not able to properly wash yourself. The free WiFi is not available in the rooms, but only in the common area. The price is absurd for such an accomodation: we paid 135.89 euros + 8.10 euros for one night in a 4 people room. I made a formal complaint with booking.com in order to get a full refund as we were forced to use the reservation, since it was impossible to find another accommodation on the same day of our arrival and the room did not provide the advertised services. There were people screaming outside late at night, even if from 22.00 onwards it is supposed to be quiet time, so I was not able to sleep properly. It has been the worst accomodation I ever stayed in, especially given the fraudulent advertisement.

Short stay

I liked the style of the bed (even though I bumped my head) because even if it doesn't have curtains it still gives a little privacy. I particularly like the coffee machine at breakfast because it gives variety of options, there's also one accessible 24/7 in the main hall where you have to put money in.

The hostel is a 25-30 mins walk from old town/station, expect hilly climbs or steps, the "short cut" way to reach the hostel through residential area is steep. The pillow needs updating, wifi is only available in the main hall & in the library, for some reason the shower in our room stinks like urine.

Amazing views, cozy beds, nice breakfast. The staff was kind and the facilities were nice.

This isn’t entirely a negative but definitely something to be aware of. It is located on a very steep hill. It’s difficult to carry luggage up to the hostel and sometimes walking it without luggage. But it made for beautiful views :)

7/10, for the camping and nature lovers

Lovely staff, amazing breakfast, comfortable bed. I felt really cared for and was accommodated to any change I asked for. Kitchen was clean and the property itself was a dream - it was an amazing escape from the city life!

If you don’t like camping/are expecting a hotel - don’t come here. This is a youth hostel that is basically like camping or staying in a cabin on a school trip. This is not a luxury place - expect bugs, iffy showers, not utmost quality rooms. No curtails and the quality of the rooms was quite poor. However, would I stay there again? If there was nothing better and cheaper available - yes. Staying here is like camping just in a cabin, if you’re into that vibe you will love it here.

Superb

A really great hostel. The family room was out of this world. Amazing views and a very short walk to the lake. It is a hostel so don't expect 5 star luxury, the staff were friendly and so helpful. Take your own food for the evening and eat on the incredible terrace with stunning views.

Cosy place, perfect for outdoor & mountain people.

Lots of cosy space to exchange with other travellers, you can spend evenings and rainy resting day here too. The location is on a slope overlooking the lake, with a nice view, especially when the weather allows sitting outside during the included breakfast. The castle is about 10min walk, the city centre about 15min. Very friendly staff. The rooms are simple, but clean. Very quiet area!

Its not one of those fancy ultramodern central city hostel, everythig is more simple and a bit worn (but clean). Ventilation in my room was insufficient though.

Great stay in Annecy

Beautiful location, close to a forest with some lovely hiking trails. Friendly staff, nice common areas. Clean rooms, comfy beds, good amount of space for luggage. Loved that the breakfast was included.

Only 2 electrical plugs in the room, which proved to be not enough for 4 people. The shower pressure was tragic, took me a long time to rinse conditioner out of my long hair. Common areas locked for the night.
