Room was clean and had everything that you’d expect to find - kettle, hairdryer, teas, coffee, shower gel Staff were very helpful and friendly Being above a busy pub, it was a bit noisy but that’s to be expected

Late checking in and last time I used the hotel they must have spoilt me with a room and en-suite. This time it was just a bed in a room - 2 flights up and all other doors numbered. So ended up going down to a empty bar to use the toilet. Only upon checking out and i querried the bathroom situation was i informed the numbered room opposite had my bathroom.

Only thing that I didn't like was the bathroom was separate to the bedroom. Very friendly staff. I have a sore wrist and so the barman carried my luggage up to my room.

Accommodation is OK in town centre, although parking can be difficult nearby, but most unpleasant aspect was NOT having an ensuite bathroom for the single room, only a supposedly sole use bathroom across the communal hallway which was sadly NOT locked on arrival ... this should have been highlighted in the room advertisement and it is also misleading that the hotel website states that all rooms are ensuite, which is false.

It’s a pub, clean enough, everything worked, generous with tea and biscuits, good position about 10 minute walk from rail station, three from bus and express service bus stops outside. No fridge, microwave, safe etc but it’s a budget stop. Biggest drawback basically no internet, I ate out to pick up my messages etc at local cafes.

Great place to stay. Very good room for a single person. Only minus was that the private bathroom was not ensuite, but across the room. (Neighboring 2 other rooms).

We had a good stay. ▪︎Bed was very comfortable, clean and big with lovely fluffy pillows ▪︎good coffee and tea facility in the room ▪︎Nice large fluffy towels ▪︎ friendly housemaids ▪︎very central ▪︎warm room Only downsides were ▪︎it was very noisy at the front with drop offs and pick ups right outside although there was double glazing on the windows besides the original windows and there was a fan in the room so this definitely helped ▪︎ The bar was very expensive so we only had 2 drinks the whole weekend there ▪︎ only1 coat hanger on the clothes rail Overall i would mark it 8/10 and would stay here again.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was quite small but functional. My mistake was misunderstanding what 'Private Bathroom' meant. It means not attached to the room, but across the corridor which was inconvenient but that was my fault. Parking is an issue with the only parking being a small Pay and Display car park around the corner (free from 6pm - 8am) or on the street (same deal). My evening meal was incredible! I enjoy my food but couldn't finish it. I didn't have breakfast as I was still full, but it didn't start until 9am and I need to be away.

The property was nicely decorated, well organised and clean. We were very impressed with the quality of food offerings, especially the evening meals. Slight inconvenience having to put a ticket on the car at 8am in the morning but it was quite close. Staff were helpful and pleasant.

I personally like it there! I don't do fancy places this was a nice simple accommodation and a place for me to stay while I'm studying at university. This was a lovely RR time to myself and will definitely keep this hotel open in thoughts when coming down to Carmarthen next time.

Lovely old coaching inn ,uodated to provide excellent bed and breakfast. Exceptional clean and warm and welcoming staff in a friendly way. Stayed twi nights had winderful quiet room at tip of building. No noise issues and excellent breakfast and evening meal. I enjoyed joining licals inbthe friendly bar area. Would love to come back. Busy pub. Room was clean with a comfy King bed, good double shower and plenty of complimentary toiletries. There was tea, coffee and biscuits in the room and plenty of room to store our luggage. Only drawback was that there’s no parking on the premises. There’s street parking or pay and display. This is really misleading as the online description for this Pub states “parking available.” We queried this with staff at the premises and they were apologetic, stating that they had contacted Hotels.com about their description (“parking available “ - as it gives the impression that there’s parking available for guests on the premises) but that Hotels.com had refused to amend it. They went on to say that they had been challenged about this misleading information by numerous customers, and had made efforts change it, but that Hotels.com had refused to change the description. As such, we had to search for parking on a very busy Saturday evening; something we could have really done without.

Room was spacious and warm, staff were friendly and professional. Amazing shower with hot water. The food was great and most importantly super hot. Only down side is the bed was not very comfortable and parking on the street. I had to make a few rounds on the one way system to get a space. You can only park for 30 minutes between 9am and 6pm and then free after 6pm.

Staff at check in was awesome. Accommodating and kind. However although wifi was an amenity, wifi NEVER worked during our two day stay and staff was unwilling to acknowledge the problem or offer a solution. That made use of cell phone as an international traveler an issue. Rooms were fine - just internet as part of the facility offering is behind my less than 5 star rating. It was a disappointment with the booking.

Would definitely recommend the Rose and Crown as a place to stay in Carmarthen. The staff were cheerful and helpful, there's an extensive food menu served between 12 and 9pm. The breakfasts are to die for with local produce and veggie options.
