Nice hotel close to the town

Breakfast was good and had a good choice of food. Room was tidy and clean. Food in restaurant was good. Hotel is close to the town, easy to walk to it.

Good car parking.

Carpet in my room was threadbare and needs replacing. Bed was much too firm for me, and thus I was not comfortable. The toilet seat was loose. Although I could open the window, I could only have it open at its widest point - it would not stay in place if you wanted to open it only slightly. My bed was not made up after my first night. The hotel was busy with various parties and this meant: (a) I could not sit in the bar area in the evening - it was heaving with people. (b) There was nowhere else for me to go except to my room. I decided to have an early night, but unfortunately couldn't get to sleep because the hotel was so noisy.

Erratic room heating, no heating in the bathroom, telephone in the room didnt work, breakfast was awful, plastic fried eggs, dried scrambled egg, rock hard black pudding, tasteless hash browns. Tired and grubby furniture in the public rooms.

Damage window, when reported to reception management was told, window was looked at when I was out of the room,adjusted but still couldn’t be closed. Dinner reservation made for my first night in the restaurant turned out to be in the bar lounge, food was just dumped.

Ask for a room away from stairs and doors, it’s very loud.

Convenient location for walking to/from train station and downtown restaurants. The staff were friendly and accommodated our request for additional blankets. We had a twin room and the single beds were comfortable. Breakfast was decent but the coffee was bad.

Our room was right next to a fire door by the stairs and every time the door was used it closed with a deafening bang that shook our room - every time; long after midnight and before 6am the door was being used. We had two terrible nights of sleep and couldn’t wait to leave. Fix the door! Put something soft on the frame or de-tension the auto-close or anything would be better. Also, we could hear the couple in the next room talking, and then snoring. The walls are paper-thin.

A good hotel offering friendly and efficient service situated in a location ideal for our reunion.

The cooked breakfast was good but the coffee at breakfast was not as good as the one you could get from the bar. The serving staff were very polite and helpful and quick to respond to our needs and wishes. They kindly accommodated extra guests at breakfast. We found the lounges very pleasant for gathering and chatting and everyone was happy to help us, including lending adaptor plugs to those who had come from abroad.

Breakfast coffee wasn't so good. There was a slightly damp smell in the corridor leading to the rooms. Mind you, it had rained very heavily. It would have been nice to have had some really home made dishes on the menu, or at least some freshly cooked vegetables.

I was supposed to be in room 203 but was given 103 with 203 scribbled out, this room was noisy, dated, broken floor tiles in the bathroom and by far the worst room we have ever stayed in here and we’ve been here at least 5 times in the last 3 years.

Terrible noise from the restaurant directly above room, went on late until until they cleared tables and then started again at 5.20am as they set up breakfast, the worst night of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Friendly staff but informed manager on holiday so no redress other than ‘sorry’.

The location of this hotel is excellent, right in the center of Carmarthen, making it very convenient for shops, restaurants, and local attractions. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and welcoming, which was a redeeming factor.

Unfortunately, the property itself is in need of significant attention. The rooms feel dated and could benefit from a refresh—especially the bathroom, which is showing clear signs of wear. During my stay, the shower unit was not functioning properly and I was unable to get hot water. To make matters worse, a constant noise—later identified as a failing water pump—made it sound like I was sleeping next to a jet engine, which resulted in a very poor night’s sleep. The in-room television was extremely small, more comparable to the size of a tablet screen than what you’d expect in a hotel room today. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and welcoming, which was a redeeming factor.

Great hotel but needs a little love

The location is excellent for visiting Carmrthen with parking included. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The bathroom had been modernised and was very clean with plenty of products. Breakfast was very tasty with plenty of choice and attentive staff.

The room was comfortable but looks tired and needs redecorating. It had 2 large windows, which would have been great but they were full of condensation. No drinking glasses in the room or bathroom for us to have water. Coffe/tea available in the room but the straw basket in which they were placed is very dated.

A fantastic experience, could not fault one thing

I was running a seminar and stayed the night, had a very impressive suite, spacious and the bed was really comfortable The staff were a credit to themselves, namely Meg, Mair and Richard who helped me set up the room The night before there was a singer entertaining some folks who were on a coach trip and he was really really good A great experience overall and highly recommended

Breakfast is excellent but the fruits are not fresh and no seasonal fruit was provided. Bed is excellent. The double room missing one towel and another room missing tea, coffee pods. The team need to double check, whether all essentials are provided. Getting down to wait at busy receiption to talk to them is not easy.

I was booked in to the executive suite on arrival i was given a family room .the window would not close normal when you went to half open it the window would open right the way .once given the key to my room the cleaner was still on there.there breakfast was OK but not brilliant

For £81 for two of us with breakfast, how clean it was , staff friendly, bar and bar staff nice veranda to sit out on for that price you can not complain in any shape or form, if I had to say anything negative it would be the bacon needs cooking for longer that’s all I can come up with would definitely go back there

Enjoyable stay centrally located .

Greart location good parking space .greeted at reception and checking was smooth. We were located on first floor room 142. LIft available but as we were on first floor we walked up. There are a few steps to navigate getting to the room which was not an issue. Room was clean as was the bathroom. first impression there was everything required, tea, coffee . towels The matress was softer then we expected but able have a decent night sleep. Breakfast was help yourself and was good there was wide variety on offer both hot and cold. You could ask for items not on offer as long you make them aware at time of booking such as a veggie/ vegan option. Bar had a good slection of beer . THe hotel is close to town centre and has many eateries close by . Stayed for three nights. Downsight firstly the fan in the bathroom did not work which could be resolved easily. It was very hot in the room and would have helped if the windows could be opened wider. THe furniture in the room looks old as well as the lights which needed cleaning. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and will return there again in future. I must thank the reception lady and the older lady who worked in the breakfast area for making us welcome. THank you

The stay was poor

The room was far to hot and when i asked the staff for a fan there were none available! The room was of poor quality and extremely dated. The phone for the reception was unplugged and nowhere near the telephone socket, i plugged it in to ask for a fan but it didnt work! The wallpaper is peeling off the walls as well as the carpet coming away. I have no issues with refugees occupying hotels, but when you have to wait in a long queue for your breakfast toast, your breakfast will go cold! The hotel is not worth the price it is asking and i will certainly not put myself or my staff there again.

The receptionist was very friendly.

We had to wait to get into our room as it wasn’t ready 2 hours after check in time. After getting into the room, there was long brown hair all over the bathroom floor and in the drain. We ended up not staying and went home due to the uncleanliness.

Great cheap hotel, great towels, super breakfast

Brilliant overnight stop less than an hour from coming off the Fishguard ferry after a tiring slog across Ireland. Terrific breakfast included. Not the most salubrious of hotels but clean, comfortable and fantastic value for money.

Shower wasn’t the most powerful, but the towels were worthy of a 5-star hotel

Ideal location and lovely member of staff on reception when I was checking in

I'm afraid there was an awful smell in the bathroom, the room needed a deep clean and the bed was rock solid. Extremely uncomfortable night. I left before 7am.

The wedding reception party was intrusive as sound carried but the room was not expensive.

The Price was excellent considering the location to the town plus Free parking.

Our room was to the side of the hotel so no road traffic noise, the beds were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a full English cooked breakfast very helpful staff.

Everything was just perfect I wouldn't change anything it was what I expected.
