Another great stay at a fabulous place
This was our 3rd stay at the Boars Head for the Wales v Scotland rugby International. The hotel has great charm and has maintained an old world ambience. The rooms were all newly renovated and were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent - Holly looked after us every morning with efficiency and always a smile. Gonzo the chef even sourced some haggis for our breakfast to make us feel at home. We had a carvery lunch at the hotel which was delicious and good value for money. The beers were well kept and went down a treat. The hotel is situated in the centre of town and is the best location for exploring the town and it's many shops and restaurants. Overall a great experience and we will be back again in two years. Would recommend without hesitation.

Clean, freshly painted central location, easy check in check out. Rooms look to be well maintained and possibly recently refurbished. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom

Boars Staff excellent service
Booking.com didnt pass on message that I needed a room closest to ground floor , they were fully booked but swapped us over with another room . Excellent service. Staff very helpful. Gold star for BOARS STAFF.

Short stay which lived up to price expectations with lovely friendly staff
I booked a single bedroom which had ample storage space with wardrobe, bedside table, Tv stand/desk with Tv on, kettle and tea/coffee. Had a large double shower which was really nice- waterfall shower with body gel/shampoo provided. Lovely and clean. Good breakfast selection with cereals, orange juice, fruit, yogurts and hot meal options.
First cup of tea in the morning was Luke warm Due to mugs being cold. Bedroom and restaurant cold in the morning. I had the full English breakfast which again was only Luke warm.

Good hotel - noisy location.
Room was nice and value for money. Staff were all lovely and helpful. Location was good for the shops/restaurants.
Stayed in the front rooms - very noisy outside throughout the whole night so didn’t sleep very well as constantly woken up. Road sweeper went past both mornings around 5am!! Which was a shame as the bed was comfy.
