Cleanliness of room excellent. Location excellent. For a 4* hotel it was tired in many areas. Also although you had shampoo, there is no conditioner or body lotion. There were plastic cups in the bathroom. Pillows were poor quality. The rooftop bar area was a nice addition and service and choice excellent. Breakfast adequate. Staff throughout hotel extremely friendly and helpful. Overall I feel expensive rates for the quality received.

On our first visit to Bologna we figured we would stay at the hotel Metropolitan because of its location in the city as it was fairly central to all the interesting areas and gave us a great place to start to explore from. One thing to note is that it is a bit of a walk from the train station, but the walk is nice and is mostly under porticoes which made it much more enjoyable. The hotel itself was very clean and nice and the room was set up very well. I did read from other reviewers about the odd shower/bathroom arrangement and I need to report that it was indeed a bit odd for us as well. Once we figured it out it was not an issue though and we got along with the bathroom/shower just fine. The hotel staff was very friendly and the rooftop lounge was a great place to spend the later evenings and sometimes the late afternoons. The rooftop lounge had very nice views with good drinks and snacks. The breakfast downstairs was good, but I would only rate it a 6 out of 10 due to the lack of selection. I will tell you that the coffee was fantastic though! We quickly fell into the timing of the Bologna locals which included a light lunch around 12-1pm, an Apertivo around 5-6pm with a very small snack and then dinner at 7-8pm. This is not our normal timing (being from the US), but once you get into the flow it works quite well and you can tell the time by the packed crowds at either the bars and/or restaurants. The hotel was great!

The room was spacious but I didn't like the decor. It was super noisy, you could hear other guests' closing their closet doors! They didn't even have body lotion, I'm used to not bringing any because hotels provide it, but here, they had a bottle of shampoo instead of hand soap in one side of the sink. I had read the reviews that stated that breakfast was wonderful, but I don't think so. Having stayed in other properties around Italy this trip and in previous trips, it was not even close. The only reason to stay here is its location

The Hotel is located in a very touristy area with shopping and restaurants nearby. The hotel beds are not the most comfortable, they seem a bit worn out. The shower has plenty wear and tear. The rooms have a funky sewage smell

Our stay at this property was a pleasant surprise. We stayed in their off-site apartment building which was perfect. Clean, comfy, and accompanied by great air-conditioning. We had a full kitchen which came in handy for leftovers that we folded together with some local wine. The roof deck at the hotel is lovely. The cocktails and small plates were delicious and the staff was pleasant and very accommodating. Parking (if you have a car) is a short walk and next to a fabulous coffee house (Mr. Coffee). The coffee house has several breakfast options to fuel your morning. For the price point, If leverage this property again on the next venture to Bologna.

Tucked off the main street, this hotel is a fabulous place to stay. Really handy for all attractions and really centrally located. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean, spacious and cool in the heat. The staff in the rooftop bar were lovely and the cocktails were great too. Would recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay again.

Booked two rooms, both in courtyard. You have to take three levels of stairs, go outside down a set of stairs then over a wooden walkway with luggage. Room 603 smelled like sewage at all times, shower had zero privacy and an awkward step down into the bathroom. Hotel was in ok area, not bad but not great. Black mold in the shower and in the coffee maker (have photos). I would absolutely not recommend this location if given these overpriced rooms.

This hotel is centrally located and convenient to see all of the sites. Unfortunately, the dishwasher was broken and couldn't be used. Also, we only had views of other buildings from our apartment. Additionally, we stayed for five nights, and when we requested another bottle of water, we were told we'd have to pay 4 Euros. That was terribly disappointing.
