Birmingham City Centre, 2-bedroom Apartment

A very central location - within easy reach of Birmingham New Street, shops, theatres, attractions, public transport, eateries ... everything! Friendly 24 hour reception/security staff. Very helpful and informative property owner - nothing was too much trouble, including WhatsApp messages to explain check-in on the day plus info on how to boost hot water if needed. Zero noise from neighbouring apartments/traffic. Supplied with towels, toiletries, hand-soap, hair drier, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and plenty of loo roll. Decent wi-fi. Plenty of drawer/wardrobe space for longer stays (we were just 1 night). Spacious apartment has comfy sofas to relax on after a hard day's shopping/touristing! Tea, coffee, sugar supplied (no milk - Tesco Express/M&S close by). Four suggestions that would be really useful for the future are: • an ice tray in the freezer to make ice for water bottles/drinks • a dishcloth plus tea towel to do dishes if not using the dishwasher • cooling fans for the bedrooms so that windows can be shut against exterior noise in the hot summer • a table lamp in the smaller bedroom.

There was some early morning noise from seagulls(!) and occasional shouting from night-time revellers because we left the windows ajar in the very hot weather. Not a huge issue though. Sliding doors are VERY heavy to move, so getting privacy between main bedroom/living room and second bedroom/shower room might be an issue for a larger group than us (2 friends). As others have said the beds are very low - a bit more effort to get up from than normal and easy to bang your leg on when navigating the bedroom in the dark!

Great location, comfortable beds, good living space. Kitchen well equipped. Would recommend for a central Birmingham stay.

Not knowing Birmingham at all, we struggled finding the building and door to access the building The building name wasn’t given to us nor directions or landmarks that it’s close to. Taxis can’t drive up to the access door as it’s in the pedestrian area. The postcode was given but this took us to an area around where we needed to be. Good apartment just needs more informative directions on how to find the access.

Unfortunately, our stay was not perfect. The refrigerator was broken on arrival and we were not informed in advance, which was a significant issue as we were travelling with a child and needed to store milk and food. We were told it had broken the day before and no repair was arranged, so we had to wedge the door shut ourselves. Organization was poor, as we repeatedly had to ask how basic facilities such as heating and hot water worked. During our stay, the owner also requested access to the apartment to collect items. We agreed but felt quite uncomfortable. The cot provided for our child was misrepresented and unusable, as it had no mattress. Additionally, parking in the area is very difficult, so paid car parks are required (we were got informed about this after the booking) .
