In need of a makeover

The closeness to the city

The way we had to get the keys, the constant communication about damage to the property and check out times, the uncleanliness of the apartment in need of a good revamp and clean as well as new sofa, lamp, toilet seat and mending of the floor.

Great location and spacious. Plenty of room for 3. Well equipped kitchen. Clean.

Self check in. Decor needs to be updated and carpets changed. It was cold on arrival but when we turned the heaters on it warmed up.

I would not be staying again.

The location was okay as i needed somewhere close to the train station.

The apartment is poorly furnished. The pictures on Booking looked really flashy compared to what we saw when we arrived. The dining chairs where torn, tacky and looked really old. I couldn't sit on it due to how it looked. The apartment is quite spacious but i would choose a properly furnished little space over a poor furnished. Also you're charged for everything, checking in late, dirty apartment, leaving the key in the apartment and more. The rule were just too much, which made us walk around the apartment on eggshells which shouldn't be. The apartment wasn't too clean and the bed is really small.

Simple and easy

Great Location, Comfortable beds, Spacious rooms, had a Bath and shower, kitchen area, lounge area, dining area even had a washing machine for long stay if travelling. we would recommend this apartment and stay again. host stayed in touch the whole time, before and after our stay. deposit refunded within 3 days,

The only thing which made us wary was some of the furniture was damaged or scuffed before we got there but we made sure we took pictures so we could get out deposit back. i would recommend updating / replacing the damaged items. but that was the only negative

Think Twice Before Booking This Apartment

The location was excellent. This apartment is a short walk from all the attractions, bars and restaurants. If it wasn't for this we would have rated this property even lower.

We were allocated apartment 42 which is a one bedroom apartment on the first floor. The photographs shown in the property description are a combination of a number of apartments. Check in instructions were inaccurate so couldn't access the car park until given the correct access instructions and code by a resident who happened to be passing by, Communication was generally poor. For example we were given 3 different check out times and then told to ignore the check out instruction book in the property. Owner insisted on using WhatsApp rather than communicating through Booking.com. Had to pick up and return the keys to a convenience store some distance from the property. Apartment is very tired and dirty. The windows have been used by smokers with ash at the bottom of the frames. Took a breakfast bowl out of the kitchen cupboard and it had a lot of water in it. The apartment is dark with only 2 windows and lights not working in the bathroom and kitchen area. Lots of damage to furniture and walls and the property is very very tired. It has clearly had a lot of misuse, Stained blinds. Shower over the bath with a big step to get in and no handrail or non slip mat so having a shower was hazardous. Hot water from the shower was hit and miss. It would start out hot, go cold and then get hot again. Our best guess is the thermostatic valve is faulty. Common parts of the block smelt of take aways. If we had known the above there is no way we would have made a booking. It is interesting to note that many of the good reviews are similar and very often have the same heading. It is almost like they have been written by the same person.

Location.

Not the easiest to pick up keys and no answer when phones for help. Cold apartment with a look warm en suite shower in a room with 2 small bed. The yard light streamed through the windows all night and thr blinds were missing some slats and the curtains didn’t block out the light. Same in the double bedroom. Door of fridge broken which we were told about. Pictures did not quite represent what was expected. Staining on the carpets. Expected more overall.

location & cost as my hotel wasn't available at the dates. I would rather pay a little more to get a better check in experience.

Provided check in instructions just before arrival which instructed me to go a petrol station to collect the keys which was absurd. As a foreigner received too many WhatsApp photos for how to get keys, address was a photo which was really hard to figure out the address for a person which isn't familiar with the area. Had to ask a low of questions etc. Which made the arrival very tiring procedure. no body was present at the site which had a flows.. Check in was self made by taking the keys from a petrol station, instruction came at the last second, room was dirty and smelling food from the previous guest and I had to keep all my clothing in my luggage to make sure not getting them smelled food. I was instructed to open the windows to get fresh air to the room which was just ridiculous.

Very comfortable stay in spacious, well equipped apartment with option of parking.

Excellent location a short distance from the train station and directly adjacent to Mailbox and walk along the canal to bars, restaurants and Utilita Arena. Parking option was also great and extremely reasonably priced for city centre. Would definitely stay again.

Comfortable apartment in great location.

Excellent location. Spacious apartment, 2 bathrooms, underground garage, good WIFI.

Kitchen could be better equipped. There was only 1 very worn out frying pan, some plates and mugs were chipped. Dishwasher was missing cutlery basket. Some lights don’t work. Bath cover and main bathroom ventilation broken. We stayed in this apartment 2 years ago and there were the same issues. Looks like nothing was fixed since then….

Mams 80th birthday celebration .Just little things that could have been better slight need of little tlc we did have a lovely stay .Could do with more wine glasses as there is only 1 wine glass .Lovely and clean location was perfect . Beds comfy .Just be careful when using shower as big step out of shower and no shower slip mat .

Both twin beds have are on a slant as they have legs missing, which made it feel like you were going to roll off at any point. I did not get a good nights sleep. However my colleague, who took the double bed, did.

Enjoyed location and space

Great location for the Utilita Arena, parking available at extra reasonable charge. The Mailbox, supermarket, canal, good pubs and restaurants just a stone's throw away. Nice and warm. Comfortable kitchen/dining/sitting area for breakfast and evening coffee.

Apartment was a little tired in places and these points are covered in other feedback (note: now down to one wine glass!). Hot water situation is frustrating - owner's proposal for 6 people is that 3 shower in the morning and 3 in the evening. We found the check-in very inflexible for our purposes and had to cut short our visit to the event we were in Birmingham for in order to pick up key and make payments. Agree with others that deposit amount seemed excessive and currently waiting for confirmation that it will be returned!

Location was fantastic. Next to Harvey nicols and bull ring is a few minutes drive. Private parking in a secure car park. Open plan living space felt nice and spacious.

The lighting wasnt great and only 1 full length mirror again with low lighting. This is minor and ANY apartment I've been to doesn't have full length mirrors or great lighting (Girls need this for getting ready). Place was clean but didn't look like it had been vacuumed. Not allowed any guests at all. Need to pay for someone to even come in to get ready with you.

Great location, hosts photos do not give a true reflection

Location was spot on and the car parking was in a secure underground car park within the complex. Beds were comfortable, bedding clean, apartment warm and the hot water Hot!!

Windows were old and aluminium which did little to cut out the road noise directly below our window. Around all of the windows in the reveals, was mouldy from the condensation, including the patio window track (photo 1). The lounge furnishings were tired, the bed settee very uncomfortable and stained, the kitchen work surface and walls were damaged and the carpet and lounge chairs were also stained. The bathroom shower screen was broken so water went on the floor when showering. Whilst the unit is clean (ish), it is a poor standard with no attention to detail, hence the mould which was even on the carpet. Could do with a refurb.

it was dated, our apartment wasn’t cleaned to the spec I’d expect. very different from the pictures on booking.com. quite run down and I have the pictures to prove it
