Everything. It was spotlessly clean. It was perfect for a solo traveller. Great value for money. Fabulous facilities. As much water as you like to drink for free. Easy to enter the building and my sleeping capsule. Very helpful & friendly staff.

Budget-friendly option for solo travellers

Perfect for solo travellers on a budget that want more privacy than a typical dorm room. Easy app to access the hostel, rooms and capsules, lockers big enough to store a large suitcase + carry on + backpack, the common area is ideal for working, and there's a fridge and microwave for guests to use (I think the microwave must be knew as it's not listed and some older reviews mention not having a microwave, but I can confirm as of Oct 2025 there is one haha). Really helpful staff too. Capsules were fine, nothing fancy but totally acceptable for a cheap place to sleep (by Switzerland standards). Great location just one minute away from a supermarket and bus stop, 5 mins from the old town, 15 mins from the train station.

The pod lights flickered for me, originally I moved pods but the next one flickered too and this can trigger migraines for me, when I explained this to their manager she said that very few people notice it and it's the way my brain processes light rather than an actual problem with the light that can be fixed (I looked into this and she's absolutely correct). She said all pods would be like this for me unfortunately so said I could cancel for a refund if I wanted to or she could give me some portable lamps from their office instead, which did the job perfectly. If you know your eyes are sensitive to this kind of thing or if you're prone to migraines then just know that the pod lights will probably be super annoying for you (I literally couldn't stand it for even 30 seconds), but I'd still stay there again if I could use the portable lamps. The only other negative was that the pillow was too thin for me, aware this is personal preference, I just used my travel pillow instead.

Expectations exceeded!

I was so impressed w this hotel. It is so modern, cool, clean and quiet! As a reader I also liked the themes from books. It is very pretty, the beds and pillows very comfortable. Oh, and it is more spacious than what looks like! I would definitely stay again!

I thought the capsule was a bit cold, even though the duvet was great. I was searching where could I turn off the ac, but there was none button for temperature. Anyway, I put my jacket on the top and had to remove it soon enough. Breakfast was good. But I would like some hot options such as pancakes or sausage, bacon or eggs. (There was boiled eggs available, but cold). The staff also felt cold.

Too dark in common areas and the door to the capsule was far too loud when people went in and out. It would be super helpful if it had a soft/quiet close. It woke me up each time people went in and out.

So many to like, can’t list them all. The best hostel for me ever, hands down.

Room door is too heavy, when people enter and exit the door, the door slams very loud, it happens till late at night and early morning. I also do not like male and female toilets at the same floor and so close to each other.

A clean, good value place for one night but was challenging to know where to keep all my stuff.

The Capsule Hotel was a clean and good value place to stay in Lucerne. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious — I never had to wait for a toilet or shower. The location of the hotel is about a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride from the train station.

It was somewhat hard to figure out how to use the key code and/or app for the doors, but once I understood it, it was fine. It was also a bit hard to figure out how to lock/unlock the lockers but two other guests explained it to me. While I was in Lucerne, it was pouring with rain, and my clothes got completely soaked while out. It was difficult to hang my wet clothes to dry because there wasn’t much reserved space for me to use except inside my capsule or in a locker.

Everything! Great location 10m walk from the train station. Backpacker friendly environment with private and secure sleeping, best both worlds. All staff were great, stayed an extra night based on 1st night experience!

Decent (pricy) pass-thru lodging.

Capsule Hotel - Lucerne Old Town is a great concept for minimalist lodging. The facilities are clean and everything works as it should. The capsules are comfortable with a few hooks for clothes and power for charging smaller devices. I appreciate the community lockers for stowing luggage and things you’d rather not have in your capsule with you.

The price at this location is too high. But, that is Switzerland. I would spend far more leisure time in Switzerland were it not for prices that feel like an unwarranted punch in the face. A single beer - 7.50 CHF. Same beer in DE would be €2.50. Minor gripe, the luggage lockers are in a narrow hall which means human traffic jams while people lay out and dig through luggage on the floor.

Magical time in Lucerne

This is the best hostel I have stayed at when it comes to the room/bathroom facilities. The location is perfect, supermarket Coop 2 minute walk away, also tram/bus stop 2 minute walk away. Just a 5/10 minute walk and you are at Lake Lucerne and not much further on and at the main train station! Epic! The cleanliness is insane! How much they keep on top of it, the shower and toilet amenities fantastic and the towels are an added bonus! Privacy in the pods fab and I found them cool enough with not blocking the air vents. Having large lockers in the corridor by the bathroom was a great addition so didn’t need to keep your bag with you and everything was on hand when using the bathroom.

Although I have rated a 10 (this is 10+) compared to any other hostel I have stayed in and there have been many! You then rate on such a high standard, would be lovely to have more kitchen facilities, the pillows were poor so bulked out with a jumper and neck pillow. Pods meant to be cleaned after 3 nights however mine wasn’t for the full 6 night stay.

Great backpacking and solo travelers who likes some privacy

The facilities are new and the staff is always willing to help and very approachable! I like that the capsule has some privacy! I sleep comfortably! I highly recommend this for solo travelers! Food is super yummy! The pizza margarita (w/ salami) tastes so good!

There is a small fan inside but I prefer it to be colder. Also I thought the beddings will be change atleast 2x but I never had a bed linen change during my 6-day stay.

The best hostel experience I've had

This is one of the best hostel experiences I've ever had. The capsule hotel has a very contemporary design and this is reflected in online check-in and room keys that are accessed by using bluetooth and the Goki app. This means you can prepare everything before you arrive, and go straight to your capsule without needing to speak to a staff member. The capsule itself was comfortable and more spacious than you would think, and there are also free lockers for any larger pieces of luggage. What particularly impressed me was how clean the showers and toilets were kept, better than any hostel I've stayed in before - the cleaning team really do a great job. The hostel also has a large lounge area which is great for reading a book, eating food or chatting with other travellers. There is also a small bar serving drinks. All the reception staff were really lovely too. The hostel has a great location, 15mins walk from the main station, 5mins walk to the old city and lake, 5mins to the Lion memorial. Without a doubt I would stay here again when visiting Luzern!

Only issue was on the second night, someone in my room slept with their capsule open and snored incredibly loudly, however this is nothing to do with the hostel itself. Price might be considered quite high, however for Switzerland (and especially Luzern) I think it's a fair deal.

Great stay

Pleasantly surprised by everything! First time staying in a capsule hotel. Capsule felt spacious and had enough storage for all of my things. Showers and toilets were clean and provided privacy. Slept fantastically every night.

Does the job for solo travellers

It was my first experience in a Capsule and overall it was good. Though of course the capsule is small, it worked fine for one night. Lockers outside the room to store stuff you can't fit in your capsule. Great bathrooms that were clean and well maintained, which surpassed my expectations (I was picturing a tired old hostel bathroom and it was way better). Digital check in worked fine, though it took me a while to get used to the codes/app.

For what it is, it's pretty expensive - but that's in keeping with everything else in Luzern.

My first stay in a Capsule hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. It is at first shocking when you turn out the light in your little compartment but you quickly get used to it. Showers were fine. Breakfast was good. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were young and old (like me), but mostly young people, The location was great.

Great experience!

I liked the idea of the capsule. Bed was comfy and the capsule area was very quiet during the night, I slept through the whole night. The bathroom was super clean and the decor was quite nice as well. Shower was also good. I only spent one night there but I had a great experience. Location is perfect!

I have no complaints, everything was as expected. Bit pricey for a hostel but everything is SO expensive in Switzerland that it’s actually a good value for money.

Lovely central hostel

Breakfast was basic ...only but was nice fresh juice and bread acceptable for 14 Chf . Nice staff very helpful , especially the girl en reception . I forgot my pin from my locker ;so quickly she came and helped .Bathrooms and decor was amazing all toiletries included. Cleaning was excellent . Towels etc . Room bedsheets . Capsule was comfortable lights charger etc . Location . Goku system was very useful . Definitely recommended and I will comeback .

My little capsule near the main door the noise outside people coming and going banging the door . Then the cleaners chatting etc I couldn't sleep much to be honest .I didn't not visit long . One night only . I just saw a small area for relaxing . But it was confusing to sit there or not . Not really understand where to sit for breakfast etc . Overall had a good stay .

I got an allergic reaction around my eyes after sleeping in the capsule, which after consulting with the doctor was found out as a result of moulds present in the bedding or in the environment inside capsule room. I have not ever experienced any such issue so got much afraid.

Amazing!

This was the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. It feels like they really take into consideration everything a tired solo traveller would care about — they have free cold sparkling water on tap, they do your dishes, have AMAZING bathroom facilities with free towels and clean bathmats, and organise something every night for people to socialise. Friendly and helpful staff. Seems to be perfect choice for solo travelers - gives more privacy than a hostel room with many beds. Quite good location, esthetic interiors. Free luggage storage, hairdryers, potable water (including sparkling) available. There is air conditioning inside the capsules.

We asked for two capsules next to each other and they were in one room but quite far one from another. We faced some issues with the codes to open the doors, we needed staff's assistance. The interiors are quite dark. The natural light is only in the common space. My partner says that the room felt like catacombs :D

So clean, affordable, quiet, safe, comfortable…. And Cedric at the desk was a wonderful help!! I made good use of the common area and appreciated the library. The bed in my capsule was extremely comfy and I slept great. Great options for coffee and a quick bite in the morning as well.

Not even thAt I didn’t like it - but I’d suggest easier directions to find it. Nothing marks the bus stop as “Lion Monument”. I had to google map it.

An ideal place for those who just want to sleep at a low price for a short stop-over in Lucerne

For breakfast, there is a choice between the a buffet inside or a bakery shop at short distance down the street. The shower and toilet facilities were clean and convenient. The bed was fine, the mattress was not too soft nor too hard.

Apparently, booking through Booking.com doesn't work smoothly (yet). I had to make a full classical check-in with an employee entering my data manually. The cubicle ceiling was a bit lower than expected, and going down from bed was more acrobatic than necessary. It would be nice if the hotel had a special agreement with one of the parkings for preferred rates. Parking for a night will cost 20 - 30 CHF.

Staff didnt knew how to solve a double charge made by booking.com and by the hotel. Even though he tried, he should have more experience to solve this. Next morning another employee, she kind of fic it. Breakfast was poor for 14 franks, and not a lot of variety.

Fantastic place in the heart of the city

Exceptional hostel in the heart of Lucerne. The staff were so friendly. Check in was very easy and hassle free. The capsules are so quiet I thought I was in my own room. The bed linen is the same as what you would get in a hotel. Even got ear plugs which I definitely didn’t need. The bathroom area was very clean and even had complimentary toiletries. Great to see hairdryers for free use in the men’s bathroom area. I would highly recommend this place for solo traveler’s. One of the best places I’ve stayed. The location is fantastic across the road from the lion monument and plenty of bars/restaurants nearby.

Great stay, super clean and comfortable capsule.

Had a great and easy breakfast here, team was very friendly to help with tips in town. Visited the Lions Monument which is 50 meters away and got to see most of the old town on walking distance. Before going back to the railway station on easy walking distance. Overal great experience in comfortable capsules, offering the privacy I look for when traveling. Also lovely showers and overal design.

Walk by the first time without realising, the logo and frontdoor are not that easy to find.

Très chaleureux et accueillant! Très propre, facile d'accès, il y a des petits équipements ( micro-ondes, tasses, couverts, assiettes...) pour pouvoir manger! Très pratique quand on ne veut pas manger à l'extérieur... Les sanitaires sont vraiment très propres, serviettes, shampoing, savon et crème à disposition! On peut sortir et rentrer à n'importe quelle heure. Des grands casiers sont mis à disposition dans le couloir. Possibilité de les déposer un peu avant et après le check in-out. Réceptionnistes présents toute la journée et très accueillants ! Ambiance très cosy et calme! Se prête à faire de jolies rencontres ! Je recommande à 100%!
