York - House - Stay 6 - Garden - Central Location

Beautiful house, great location and views. Perfect spot for getting into York and big enough for our group to enjoy. Lovely little outside space too.

Definitely not cleaned thoroughly enough (dust, cobwebs and sticky floor). The top floor ensuite shower and the ground floor shower connected to the bedroom suite both flooded when in use. There were no cleaning products for guests to use. Not even washing up liquid or hand soap. Only a couple of dishwasher tabs. We couldn't unlock the lock box because we were supplied with the wrong code and the booking.com helpline couldn't get hold of anyone. Fortunately they found the correct code. Bedding did not smell fresh and clean. Instructions were basic and we had to hunt for the outside bin key so we could throw our rubbish away. Only one bin bag provided.

Stunning spacious property on the riverside with lovely views from the upper living space, kitchen and dining room. Very cool contemporary design with nice finishes, bathrooms and living areas. Fully equipped modern kitchen and appliances. Well located with pleasant walk into town.

The heating was on very high so was hot when we arrived and at night time, not easy to turn off UF heating downstairs. A few hairs found in the bedding. Bathrooms not the most conveniently located for a large group, with glass door to one en-suite.

Faulty flush in down stairs toilet Space and climb to mezzanine bed but again was worth it

The house was very close to the old city of York.

The house was dirty when we arrived and appeared not to have been cleaned. The "mezzanine" bedroom was challenging for older adults.
