The City Haven Near City Centre

The property was clean and comfortable and the host stayed In contact with any and all questions. I went with my 3 children who loved the garden space we personally took a bubble machine and they had plenty of space to play and hang out in the garden. The beds were so comfortable I slept amazing. One of our children was in a travel cot which fit perfectly in the bedroom, I find when going away with a younger one cot space can be an issue but it wasn't a problem here at all. We'd definitely stay here again ❤️🙂

Clean, comfy, near to everything

Location and facilities very good. Property was very suitable for family use as included ample parking and a garden for the children.

Nothing in particular. Query ill- fitting doors but this did not affect use unduly.

Kitchen, bathroom and garden were nice and modern.

On walking through the front door we instantly noticed that the carpet was dirty and the walls were very marked which didn’t give a good first impression. On continuing up the stairs we noticed the skirting boards were also filthy and there were hairs everywhere so was not at all clean. The first bedroom on the left had a floorboard missing under the carpet which is dangerous and there was a chest of drawers which were broken and unusable. The carpet was also filthy and stained. The second bedroom was ok as had laminate flooring. The last bedroom carpet was also filthy and stained, there was thick dust behind the bed. The beds however were clean. The bathroom and kitchen were generally clean but kitchen still had broken toilet door as is continually mentioned in the comments . The garden was nicely done except poorly maintained as had ivy growing around the decking and broken pegs all over the grass! Such a shame as was nicely done and also a small metal table and chairs that had left rust marks all over the nice patio! The lounge was nice but had a broken chair and again dirty floor which looked ok however judging by my socks was again filthy! We were there for a week and property had no hoover or mop so we contacted owner on the Wednesday to see if we could get a hoover but they said we should have said when we first arrived and that the cleaner brings her own so there wasn’t one and after telling her the property was not clean said she would tell her cleaners and that was the last we heard. I did brush and scrub the kitchen floor with a small brush as that was the best I could do with what I had! We were very disappointed as it was our only holiday this year and only booked this property as previous comments said it was clean so would never have booked if I had known! I had to throw my socks away and get new ones as they were so dirty and buy a pair of slippers! The location was good as 10mins in Uber into York and there was a bus stop at the end of the street.
