Good location and a beautiful little house

A beautiful quaint house in York, perfect for all of us! Easy to get an inner into city centre of a 30 minute walk in which we opted for. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return!

Perfect place for a weekend getaway

I stayed at the knavesmire with some friends over the weekend. It was a fantastic place to stay. It is located within walking distance from york’s center and the hosts were always available for us. The place itself it’s cozy and comfortable. Best place to spend a weekend in York.

Ideal base near amazing butchers and bakery!

Cracking property. Very comfortable and a great base to explore York from. Nice walk into the town and also really close to the racetrack to do York Parkrun Saturday Morning. Parking right outside the door then didn’t use the car for the test of the stay which was nice. Hosts had recommended the butchers and the bakery… if you stay here you MUST visit both! The pies are the best ever and we ended up having pies and veg rather than eating out on our last night (unanimous vote - 2 adults 2 teenagers!). We were gutted that we hadn’t thought ahead and bought more to bring back with us (closed on a Sunday). The sausages and bacon also made a great fry up in the morning with some eggs and bread from the bakery. The bakery also make the most amazing custard slices… but get there early so you don’t miss out! Nice to have a proper dining table and chairs to sit for breakfast and meals. Comfy sofas x2 in the lounge. Great wifi and house was lovely and warm.

Not much really, this is a nice comfortable house. Great value for money in a nice area. Not many parking spaces, but there were always a couple free.

Bed was a little uncomfortable for me but that’s my personal preference, the other guest stated she had a great sleep in her comfy bed!

Lovely Victorian terrace located in a friendly community, with great amenities on the doorstep.

Lovely Victorian terraced house, which was tastefully decorated throughout. The street was quiet and though lots of houses, parking was never an issue and we had a van. The owners were easy to contact if you had any queries and sent lots of helpful information. The local shops were delightful, notably Fred's Bakery, The Knavesmire Butchers, and Lapin cafe literally on your doorstep. Not far from high street which again had lots of local independent shops and restaurants, didn't see any chains. You are not far from York town centre either.

There were some cleaning issues, but the owners were prompt to reply and offered to come in and clean, which was helpful and impressed us. Our stay was not spoilt by this, and we would definitely recommend to others and happily rebook for further stay when in York.

Clean house within 25 min walk to York City Center

Location was great (~20-25 min walk to the city centre), free on-street parking available. Hosts were very helpful and provided lots of local recommendation. Property was clean and well furnished.

Damp washing powder left in the washing machine by previous guest. We had problems getting the washing machine to work initially, but managed to get it to work finally by shutting the door really tight.

We needed to be close to Acomb for a family party .. this little house was perfect 😃 great also for a walk into York. The house was immaculate and perfect for my family of six .. it had everything we needed

Lovely family break

The communication from hosts. The location close to york races and a short walk to centre of York. The bakery just down the road bacon and sausage baps were good and cheap. Close to pub. Shop butchers abd bakery as well as lots of green space to walk your dog close by. Lots of recommendations from host for dog friendly places to eat. We really enjoyed our stay thank you

Excellent place to stay.

Excellently presented. Everything was as described and worked. Very clean and warm throughout. Landlords kept in communication prior to our stay and checked in to see if everything was alright. Christmas Tree on arrival was a nice touch.

Nothing to dislike. Key guard was hard to work but only a very mior irritation.

We were travelling a lot, so we were staying there minimum of time. But all was super for our needs.

The place of our accommodation was great. There was very nice walking to the city center. Near of it there is a pub, a baker and 10 min. walking very good Indian restaurant. It was great when we have warm water for having shower after all cold day of travelling

We didn´t have experience with this way of the key locker, so we had a little problem with opening of it but a lady was walking along us so she helped to solve it. In rooms there is electricity hidden behind beds and I had a problem to get to it.

Very cosy, clean, welcoming. The owners cared us too. They responded promptly to my messages. The accommodation is traditional and cute. The location is lovely near to cute shops, restaurants and supermarkets. We really had peaceful warm cosy family holiday.

The outside area was sad. More so due to the weather. Maybe it can be lovely little court yard with TLC in good weather.

Loved every bit of my stay in York

It was a good location and a nice comfortable house. I found it a bit cold from the kitchen to the bathroom as there are only one towel and the floor in the bathroom was very cold. That’s why we had to put towels down because our feet was like ice blocks when you get out of the shower. The house was nice and clean, and worth every penny. I will book it up for next year when we come back to watch the snooker.

Excellent communication and was great to receive a text to allow us to check in at 12noon instead of 4pm. Property was clean with all facilities and worked perfectly for us as a family with 2 teenagers in the twin room with single beds and us in the king size bedroom. Able to walk into York without the hassle of parking (1 mile / 20 mins) and 2 mins from large open green areas to walk the dog. Great bakery 30 seconds away for breakfast or lunches. Free on road parking.

Good location only a 25 minute walk into York. Well equipped house, very clean. On street parking - we managed to get right outside the house.

I hadn't read the description fully and had missed the fact that the bathroom was downstairs and that the staircase was incredibly steep, my mistake but worth reading all the description!! We couldn't get the heating to work and although it was July it was very cold - however the hosts did offer to come and sort it out but we were going out so didn't bother.
