The problem with the neighbours is obviously nothing to do with the hosts and I would highly recommend to anyone visitin

The property was in a great location, very clean and the hosts were very lovely and left a welcome gift. Host was also very responsive. Very comfortable place to stay.

The heating was mostly off. And the people living above kept us awake all three nights. I’m talking from 00:00. - 03:00 each morning and then it would start again in the early morning.

Wonderful place, so handy for the centre and a comfortable and cosy place.

Lovely place, cosy and welcoming. Spacious and very clean and tidy. Decorations for Christmas and a welcome kit of wine, chocolate and milk was an excellent touch. Thanks for the late checkout!!

Second stay, will definitely return.

This is our second stay here and won't be our last. Its in a great location, clean, comfortable and has basics provided to make a hot drink. The chocolates and fizz were a lovely touch.

No parking outside but there is a car park nearby which is reasonably priced.

Noisy! The occupants upstairs were very loud and sure to the central location there was a lot of noise into the early hours of the morning.

A hidden gem

A wonderful comfortable apartment with everything you could possibly need in the heart of carlise but still in a quiet area, added extras of chocolates and presecco made us feel very welcome, I personally enjoyed the Hilton Pillows We will definitely like to come back for a longer stay

Very central and parking was very easy to find around the corner. The apartment was clean and tidy, everything worked and we had no issues.

Can't fault it. We had friends stay at a hotel around the corner and they had issues with hen and stag do's, this is a great place for a quiet stay.

Spacious, well-equipped apartment with great location.

Great location - very little noise outside the apartment, as it is in a no-exit little street near a court of justice, and walkable from the train station. Spacious apartment. Nicely equipped kitchen, the complementary milk and coffee pots were extremely practical for us, coming from abroad. The bathroom was huge. The bed was comfortable. Really liked having all the available streaming platforms for entertainment at the end of the day.

Could have done with more hanging space for clothes - and hangers -, and some more towels. It's a bit weird being on the ground level, everyone can look inside, so had to keep curtains closed.

Beautiful quite street location in central Carlisle, a lovely property that has been nicely fitted and boasts a tonne of space whilst still feeling cozy and private, a perfect base for solos or couples exploring the city of Carlisle. Host Joe was also very friendly and approachable. Also I greatly appreciated the relaxed 2pm check in and 11am check out times, adding extra value to my stay.

Excellent location on a quiet cul de sac right in the middle of the city. The host (Joe) couldn't have been more helpful with everything (directions, key location, milk in the fridge, car parking, etc). The heating was on when we got there, we didn't have to check out until 11am. A fantastic stay!

A stand alone apartment, handy central location, quiet and secude (next door to courthouse). Very nice touches to welcome us there.

The Location was excellent first time in Carlisle and just liked it so much. The owner was Lovely Joe. And the cleaning Ladies where excellent. We had such a great time when i meet them on Sunday as arrived earlier . Plenty of bars and restaurants close by. the centre to the town centre is so close. I will be returning again hopeful very soon and hopeful The Gavel will be Free to stay at again

The only the thing i found was the window to the Street could have done with same kind blind . So through the day people walking pas to go to he Court could not look in to the living room . But everything was excellent

Wonderful would stay here again!

I thought the communication from the host was brilliant. The location was fantastic with plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The place was clean and tidy. There was a pint of milk in the fridge for teas and coffees and also a small bottle of prosecco and chocolates for us to enjoy which I thought was a lovely touch. Parking was good and easy also.

The tv in the bedroom doesn't work. We couldn't find any channels or anything, but it wasn't a big deal, just maybe something to consider fixing if possible The walls are very thin as well you can hear upstairs very clearly and our neighbours were up and about until the early hours but this can't be controlled.

Great location, venue and facilities.

The Gavel is fantastic for the city centre, it's in very close proximity to cafes, bars and restaurants. It is a safe and secure house, and provides all the necessary information. The facilities within the Gavel are great, it's very clean and tidy. We would definitely recommend a stay.

Really good booking experience and property is exceptionally maintained.

Excellent location, very comfortable and had everything we needed.

Only issue was the noisy neighbours upstairs until about 3am but this is outwith the property’s control!
