Carlisle City Centre The Gavel

Our apartment was great! right in the heart of the city centre. It was bigger than we expected...a lovely kitchen lounge area, a great bedroom space and an amazing bathroom. A little bottle of bubbly was awaiting our arrival which was great after a long day of driving. All the amenities, appliances and furniture were well looked after and comfortable. We were excited that there was a washing machine as well, especially after our many walks through the highlands. The " Gavel" was close to lots of great cafes and restaurants and grocery shops. We had the most amazing breakfast at Whytes Kitchen in the Courtyard...such amazing pastries and brekkie food and great coffee too! Parking for the car was ok, we parked in a pay and display just around the corner, and it didn't cost much for overnight at all.

Nothing could have been better...it was a great place to stay.

Great location, very clean and tidy, nice personal touch leaving milk in the fridge and a small bottle of spritzer as well as biscuits when I arrived.

My only gripe was the mattress was too springy and soft.

Huge place - quiet and comfortable. Loved this place. Great location near train station. Highly recommend! Washing machine a big bonus! Welcomed with some sparkling wine and cookies :-)
