It was great stay in Bayeux and surroundings, i really enjoyed the atmosphere of old town

I was really cozy apartment with nice host. Apartment is located just in the town and has good connection both to the old town, as well as main transport roads to main destinations. It was very comfortable to stay, and kitchen was full of everything, you need to prepare French dinner at home. Thank you Heloïse again!

Bayeux Tapestry Museum is closed nowadays - we need to come back later :)

Lovely apartment, with some major shortcomings that let it down.

It’s a lovely place, but there are some big bugs… Location is great, apartment and the building it’s in are both lovely. Host friendly and helpful. Loved the airy feel, tall windows, high ceilings etc. kitchen is well equipped, bathroom (small) is good.

Two decent sized bedrooms - although in one it is very difficult to walk round the bed to the window and curtains. Although on our visit the curtains were broken and had to stay shut. This room had a small chest. The other bedroom has ZERO storage space for clothes. So prepare to live out of your bag on the floor. This was a major shortcoming. Then there’s the parking! Listed as having parking, but we met the ‘Admiral’ first day who told us we could not park there - residents only. Left a real sour taste. Last day found a note on the car saying the same. The parking out the front has gone and the listing should be updated to reflect that. Alternative parking is not that easy to find either. Finally, we were not met at the apartment by the host, had to drive to other side of town. That is a let down.

Beautiful apartment but not as convenient as expected due to lack of washing machine.

The location, decor and big windows.

No washing machine or drying racks. I had been in hotels for weeks and was looking forward to a place I could wash some clothes. The staff were very skimpy on towels for a four night stay. Also there is ongoing construction for the Bayeux tapestries museum across the street. Street is dusty and since manager has a no shoes policy be prepared to try to remove dust from your street shoes before you step into the apartment.

This place can't be beat!

We loved Heloise! She was excellent - very good communicator and very helpful. She provides detailed instructions that can easily be referred to on the kitchen counter. She picked us up from the train station and gave us a tour of the apartment. The apartment was immaculate, beautiful, and spacious. The location can't be beat. I really wish we had stayed longer. Thank you, Heloise!

WONDERFUL APPARTMENT WITH A BACKLASH

The Appartment is part of a historic building, surrounded by other apartments. There is a gate. The owners live off-site (and need to be given 20’ notice to meet up for access). The family only visits occasionally (“once a month”), the rest of the time it is rented out. The interior is spacious (except for the bathroom) and very well designed. There is a lovely garden. Parking is available right in front of the building (free) and, if complete, not far away (paying). Max 4 hours (from 9-20h). A bakery can be found at 200m (closed on Fridays; alternatives on Rue St Jean at 600-800m). The principal sites are nearby, on hop-scotch distance. We very much liked the nearby restaurant La Rapière (off Rue St Jean), boasting a Bib Gourmand (Michelin), run by a charming energetic couple.

We were deeply saddened by the tone of voice and some specific content of communications by the owners. They communicate swiftly, that is positive. However, some of their messages, both in writing and orally, were most pushy and unwelcoming to say the least : “ADDITIONAL FEES WILL BE APPLIED IF YOU DON’T RESPECT OUR PROPERTY. THIS IS NOT A HOTEL, THIS IS OUR HOME” (see photo for details). Is one free to misbehave in a hotel? Their home, really? See above. In addition it made us very uneasy to be instructed to conceal the truth vis-a-vis the neighbours, that is to lie being “not tenants”, but “just friends staying at our place” (see photo). This opportunistic approach is in stark contrast to the “respect” they want to be shown themselves (subject to a penalty that is). Should we have been informed upfront we wouldn’t have stayed here.

Stunning apartment, would love to return.

Absolutely delightful apartment, I could have stayed there forever. Fantastic location right in the heart of everything. Restaurants only a few hundred metres away, yet the property was whisper quiet.

Bath towels are not very absorbant, probably just new. A hairdryer would have been useful.

Beautiful apartment, centrally located with parking.

Beautiful apartment in excellent location. Very close to Bayeaux Tapestry, in the centre of the town. The cider left for us was a nice touch and our host was very helpful and welcoming. The beds were comfy and the area is very quiet. We would highly recommend!

No hair dryer or iron/ ironing board, but this was raised upon our departure and our host said they would take this on board for future guests. It would also be helpful to have more storage for guests in the main bedroom with a mirror but we managed for 2 nights.

Slapen op een mooie locatie met een onwelkom gevoel

De ligging van het appartement is prima. in een paar minuten loop je het centrum in van Bayeux. En ook het uitzicht op de kathedraal is 's avonds erg mooi. Al gaat men binnenkort een gebouw bouwen voor dit appartement. Ik vraag me af of het uitzicht dan mooi blijft. Verder is de huiskamer mooi en gezellig.

Wat erg tegen viel was dat we een het gevoel kregen dat we niet echt welkom waren. De reden? Er liggen een aantal informatiebladen die vooral vertellen wat we NIET mochten doen en de extra kosten die we zouden krijgen als we iets verkeerds zouden doen. Ten eerste las ik dat we tegen de buren moeten zeggen dat we vrienden zijn ipv toeristen die het appartement huren. Dat geeft het gevoel dat we er illegaal verbleven maar daar wel €330.- per nacht voor moeten betalen. Verder las ik "Dit is niet een hotel. Dit is ons huis." Vandaar datin de slaapkamer van onze dochter nog kleding in de kast lag met daarop een briefje dat vertelde dat we niet aan de kleding mochten komen. Ook op de flessen wijn in de huiskamer lag zo'n soort briefje. Verder konden we geen enkele kast of hangertje gebruiken, waardoor we onze kleding in onze koffers moesten laten. De huiskamer heeft geen raambekleding waardoor je nooit echt privacy hebt. Er staat aangegeven dat je Netflix en Prime kan gebruiken. Behalve als de verhuurder zelf naar Netflix wil kijken, want dan krijg je geen toegang meer. Dat was bijna het hele verblijf het geval. Ik heb er moeite mee dat er een prachtige accommodatie wordt aangeboden maar dat we ons geen moment welkom hebben gevoeld. Sterker nog we verbleven er illegaal. Dat hoort niet, zeker niet voor dit bedrag.

Très agréable

Bonjour, nous avons passé 4 jours en famille dans cet appartement. Il est très bien situé ! Nous pouvions tout faire à pied dans Bayeux. L'appartement est très spacieux et très propre ! Nous avons également apprécié le calme et la verdure de la résidence. Les photos sont fidèles à l'appartement présenté sur le site, vous n'aurez aucune surprise.

Très bon emplacement, superbe appartement. Un accueil chaleureux, aux petits soins de leurs clients. Un appartement avec de belles prestations, une petite attention à l'arrivée très appréciée ! Je le recommande vivement!
